Según Chino, la banda trabajó en la pre-producción con Terry Date, productor que ha trabajado con Pantera, White Zombie y Limp Bizkit. Por fin le daré chance a mi banda favorita de aparecer en escena. Banda formada en Sacramento California al rededor de los 80's, aunque fue hasta 1995 que sacaron su primer álbum. Aunque los Deftones odian el titulo de "nu-metal" para su música, la verdad es que fueron los inventores/promotores de este género al lado de Korn. Este es el 2º de sus discos y el más representativo en lo que a su propuesta se refiere.Bateria con beats entrecortados, letras que te razgan, voces penetrantes y cuerdas extremadamente simples y complejas. Como todas las buenas letras están llenas de sugerencias emotivas en lugar propuestas emotivas. Deftones es una banda de metal alternativo, formada en Sacramento, California, en 1988. Está integrada por: Stephen Carpenter (guitarra), Chino Moreno (Voz), Abrahan Conningham (batería), Frank Delgado (teclados/samples) y Chi Ling Dai Cheng (bajo).En sus inicios su sonido se basaba mucho en el heavy metal, pero a principios de los 90's lo llevaron un poco más lejos, inspirados en bandas como Duran-Duran, Depeche Mode, Bad Brains. Editan su album debut, Adrenaline, en 1995, a través del sello discográfico de Madonna, Maverick Records. Lo graban con el productor Terry Date, que había trabajado con bandas de la talla de Pantera o Soundgarden. Sin embargo no es un éxito inmediato. En 1997 editan Around The Fur, el album que los catapulta a la fama.
