Inside American Idol: David Archuleta’s Relief, Dedication
Posted on May 2nd, 2008 7:26 amDavid Archuleta has never been in the bottom three on an elimination night. And we’d be willing to wager that he never will be. But, according to People Magazine, the young, popular crooner was shocked when he was sent to the safe sofa this week. As David walked over to join Jason Castro, also safe, on the couch, he mouthed “wow, wow, wow” to himself, maintaining a look of shock into the break. We don’t know why. Of course he was safe, and he’ll continue to be until the finals (where we hope he loses out to David Cook). Also, according to a family friend, Tuesday night’s song choice of Neil Diamond’s “America” was chosen by Archuleta in dedication to his mom, Lupe, who originally came to the U.S. from Honduras.

Does Your Dedication Match Your Sacrifice? Part I...
The rains starting to come down outside. Weather warnings and tornado watches have been issued in counties to your west. The Radar is showing that the brunt of the storm might graze you and you have a forty-five minute drive to make it to a local show that most likely no one will be at. Does your dedication match your sacrifice? You started the day on three hours of sleep. You got home the night before at three o' clock in the morning and woke up at six to be able to make it to work on time. You worked outside in the sun for ten hours, and when you got home there wasn't any time for a nap. You took a shower and hit the road. You got home at three and woke up at six. Does your dedication match your sacrifice?Your stuck with juggling the needs of your family with the needs of your music. A de

      Dedication
I continue (to try) to weed. Franny and Zooey, by JD Salinger — I don't remember reading it. I'm not sure why I have it; I mean, apart from it being Salinger, I never felt a particular draw to reading this or any other of his work, no matter how much I love-love-loved The Catcher in the Rye. It's sat there for years. Occasionally my eyes set upon it, and I think I should get round to reading it one of these days. I start reading on the metro platform the next morning. Inside the front cover is a brief dedication. My heart breaks a little.love to iziaon her 21st'lainieFrom my best friend, a very long time ago. We were messed up at 21. Dedication to Mario Braghieri
About Pattern making. It is one of those boring things that you know you can handle, when in fact it's no fun at all. So it was true until I had classes with Mario. All of the sudden, it turned into some sort of "comedy club show", with tons of jokes and laughs. The patterns were done anyway, but you couldn't figure out when.Ever since, it is not a chore anymore. Of course it would be nice to have a CAD system (about 10000 Euro) but I'm handling it manually until then. So, Dear Mario, here's some new books on the market (I've got the digital version of Pattern Magic 1 already and the English version of Vionnet):Pattern Magic 2Vionnet (In Japanise)

      A Dedication to Wilma
Wilma was euthanized today at 4:45pm at the age of 15 years. She came to me as a two year that had obviously abused. It started simply as a baby sitting job that turned into a permanent home for Wilma. Wilma loved the water as do retrievers. She was very loyal and the one dog the kids always could relate to. Her health declined very quickly this week and she was in pain. After all she was 105 years old in dog years. A pretty good run. She went peacefully while I held her. The hardest thing anyone has to do. If you've ever had animals in your care, you know what I mean. Wilma will be missed by this family. Godspeed, Wilma. Please visit http://midwesthorse.blogspot.com/index.html for more horse stories, information and resources.

True dedication. I had no idea what that meant until today. Lisa Chambers & I with Gwinnett County For Mike Huckabee, spent one hour at the busy intersection of Lawrenceville-Suwanee and Highway 120 in Lawrenceville, GA waving Mike Huckabee signs. Fortunately we got some much needed rain down here as a cold front raced through Wednesday night. However the front brought some cold weather for this part of the country. After a nice lunch at IHOP Lisa dropped me off at my corner and she drove to hers (the intersection is really wide). I could tell already that this was indeed a challenge. The temperature was no higher than 50 degrees. To make matters worse it was quite breezy and the winds gusted several times (which meant the wind chill made it feel more like freezing). I had two official signs and another one advertising the campaign website (which Lisa made). Fortunately the sign Lisa made was rigid enough for me to hold onto however I had to use it as a buffer for the othe

Running Home Business Requires Dedication And Discipline
One of the most common causes of failures of work at home businesses is the fact the person operating the business should never have started in the first place. Not everyone has the dedication and, more importantly, the discipline needed to run their own business out of their home and will quickly find that setting their own hours and being at home all day, everyday is the rosy picture painted by the stories about self-employment.Running your own business involves someone to handle sales, production, orders, billing and all of the other departments necessary to keep a business operating. When you first start out in a home business, the people that do the work will most likely be you and it will not take long to realize just how many hours are required to get everything done. Then there's the promise that often comes with home business opportunities about having the time and money to spend on vacations and having more time with the family. While the business is in its infancy, that is j

      Dedication Poster
When I first saw this poster I was immediately reminded of the poster for The Squid and the Whale, for what I think are fairly obvious reasons. Despite the similarities I think that the poster for The Squid and the Whale is much better. It’s sharper and has a cleaner look. It also does a better job of getting us interested in the interaction between the characters. The main characters in Dedication are a kid’s book writer and his illustrator. So the use of drawings make sense. But the drawings themselves don’t actually seem to tell us anything about the movie, so the main effect of their use is to give the image a more unique and cutesy look, which seems like a lost opportunity. Beyond that we have a picture of the two characters sitting together. Their positioning, clothes and interaction scream indie rom-com to me, for some reason. I would have preferred to see a picture that made the relationship between the two characters seem more interesting and that tried

Old George, the ferret, passed away today peacefully in his sleep. I've had George since 2000 and he was 2 to 3 years old when he came to live with us, so that made him quite an old ferret. I knew he was nearing the end as he had lost weight in spite of our efforts to soften his food so that he could eat easier. He curled up in the corner of his cage and closed his eyes. So "Cheers" to George, a rather entertaining and cuddly little creature with a personality of his own and sweet little ferret kisses. Re-dedication
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.Psalms 51:10Each, 1st Sunday represents, a new month, or the start or beginning thereof, in the sense, that we view this occasion as the re-dedication, of our lives in the service of The Lord. In other words, our correction or realignment of our priorities toward our fellow man-Our lives are always or should be at the growing edge. That is our strength, our resolves, always keenly aware of the needs of others. And at the peak of our ambition, sometimes, in fact oft times of sacrificial, so that we minister to the needs of others before we, ourselves are recognized-So in order to do so- we must mortify above problems if we be so incumbered.by James Gargus

A dedication to Lala - from Pearl with LOVE
There is another special woman in my life apart from my Mama. Who is she ??...Known as Ramlah, Ram or Lala, she's my Mama's younger sister - the number 7 of 9 siblings. Somehow she took the role by default as a "mother" to me here whilst my birthmom is across the causeway and typically as most mothers does, she would fuss over me now and then. And fuss with a capital F, that she would buzz me constantly to chase me out of the office when I stay overly late or nag infinitively if she found out that I skip my meals and fall sick. Basically she's the 'matron' when Pato is away. But she is full of love to those she cares dearly. Thus, this post is dedicated to her as she is my faithful reader since the birth of "the travelling ducks". Coincidentally, "the travelling ducks" was born on the same birthdate as hers - 29 September. from left : Opah, Aunt Rohaini, Aunt Sabariah, Mama, Auntie Lala on bike, Aunt Zaleha Her nieces and nephews called her Auntie Lala but don't eve
