I always used to try to get my tree up the day after TG, but dude - it’s only November 23rd! We still have a whole week left in November! I redecorated my blog template for December and started to switch over, but…it seems too early! I don’t know if I can do it yet. I’m afraid I’ll be all Christmassed out before Christmas even gets here if I put it up now. Putting up my tree is an easier decision - I need to take Christmas pictures of my kids, and I only have a handful of opportunities to do that when EVERYBODY is here! When do you decorate for the holidays?

Every kid wants to find fun ways to decorate their room. Well, I have a cool craft for them to do that will instantly add some cuteness to their bedroom. And, what’s more, your kids will love making it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Black chenille stem
Square pieces of paper or tissue paper
Watercolor paints
Paintbrush
Water
Wooden clothespin
Very small wiggly eyes
Wire cutters
Needle nose pliers
Now here’s how to make it:
If your child would like to paint their own designs for the butterfly’s wings, give them square pieces of paper to paint with watercolors. Or, you can make the butterfly’s wings using square sheets of colored tissue paper.
Next, accordion pleat the painted paper or tissue paper in half-inch sections.
Slide the paper in between the clothespin, making sure half the paper is on either side of the pin, giving the butterfly wings.
Cut the black chenille stem to 4″.
Fold the black chenille stem in half.

Soy or beeswax candles can be purchased just about anywhere anymore. If you purchase just any-type of candle be it not beeswax or soy wax-based, always make sure it doesn’t contain a wire wick. Wire wicks give off chemicals that can be very harmful to your lungs and growing children’s lungs when inhaled.
For this craft you want to choose/make candles that are light in color. White, yellow and even a lighter shade of tan can be used.
Take a large-base pillar candle and run a smooth knife blade down the side of the candle, just to take off a small shaving of the candle on the outside and to loosen the wax just a little. This process also removes any dirt that might be on the candle from store handling. Save those shavings for later on in the project.

I just finished flashing quickly thru a couple of hundred listings for a client. One of the criteria was to only look at property that has been on the market for over 6 months.
Here’s the search criteria I was using:, his minimum size, (3br, over 1400sf) the area (vintage vegas of course), older than 1970, his price range (up to 325k) and over 6 months on the market.
Results of the search? 241 homes. 107 have no pictures at all. 57 only have only one picture. From those that had pictures, I saved 73 new pictures that could qualify for a “worst MLS photo” post.
Truly astounding. And truly telling. I won’t be showing him a single home tomorrow morning that has no pictures. Based on pricing, my neighborhood knowledge, and what I could tell from the pictures, I picked a dozen homes for tomorrow.
