      Minority shareholder declaring bankruptcy
If I own 25% of an incorporated business when I declare bankruptcy and the trustee cannot find a buyer for those shares (because nobody in his right mind will pay to be a minority shareholder in a close family run business!) can he demand that the corporation or other shareholders pay him 25% of net [...]

I do believe that China is declaring war
The latest recall from China is the toy "Aqua Dots". This toy has a chemical that when ingested can cause children to go into a coma and die. So far there are 3 cases of young children in comas. I have not heard of any deaths - yet. This is just the latest in a long string of recalled toys and other items made in China. I do know that with all the recalled toys many small toy making companies in the USA are having booming sales right now and they deserve it. If this keeps up maybe the US companies that sent their manufacturing to China will bring it back to the USA where it belongs. That will only happen if the buying public refuse to buy anymore items made in China and I do believe that is what will happen.I imagine many handy type parents might even be making their children toys this Christmas like a toy working backhoe , stuffed animals or a wooden rocking horse. The older children would be getting the electronic type toy but it is the younger kids that are being affected by the reca

"The executive has no right, in any case, to decide the question, whether there is or is not cause for declaring war." - James Madison
This page contains a list of brilliant statements by James Madison, the fourth President of the United States. They seem especially relevant today, as America continues down the slippery slope towards fascism. Here are 12 separate quotes. Placed in a specific order, these quotations make up a "speech" in which Madison seems to be directly alluding to our current situation, and the danger we face:"All men having power ought to be mistrusted.""The essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must be in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse.""Liberty may be endangered by the abuse of liberty, but also by the abuse of power.""It is a universal truth that the loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or pretended, from abroad.""The means of defense against foreign danger historically have become the instruments of tyranny at home.""I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encr

Man urinates on dying woman, declaring it ‘YouTube material’
Shouting, “This is YouTube material!” a 27-year-old British man urinated on a dying woman who had collapsed on the street, the BBC and local Hartepool Mail and Northern Echo tell us. He also doused her with a bucket of water and covered her with shaving cream. The woman, 50-year-old Christine Lakinski, died at the scene of pancreatic failure. In a sad sign of the times, it was all recorded on a mobile phone. In court, Anthony Anderson said he had smoked a joint and been drinking with two friends when they spotted Lakinski. He faces jail after pleading guilty to “outraging public decency.” Sentencing is set for Oct. 22. “We will await the outcome and just hope he gets what he deserves,” Lakinski’s brother said after today’s court hearing. What is the point in declaring bankruptcy
Modern business runs on the accessibility of people, people to make deals, people to talk to, people to buy and sell stuff to. Jason Calacanis joins the ranks of folks trying to shut down the idea of keeping up with modern communications, in particular the ability of people to answer back on his blog. We have only answered one article on his blog, the link baiting exercise, and that was well worth the effort that we put into it, you can read our link bait right here. In the mean time, it really seems that at some point people tinker with the idea of shutting down e-mail, blog comments, or other stuff, e-mail because of a time commitment, blog comments because the comments get nasty, evil, or just plain old vile. While the time commitment for e-mail is one thing that people either can or can not give out to answer bits of fluff from the internet. The way to do a lot of the time commitment is to keep things public in the public realm, like our e-mail suggest@techwag.com then keeping o

Elder Abuse Awareness Day Solano County - CaliforniaSolano County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution declaring June 15, 2007 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Solano County."This resolution contributes to the overall public education campaign of making people aware that we have, unfortunately, people in our community who will prey on our seniors," said Supervisor Mike Reagan, chairman of the Board of Supervisors. "As our County goes from a quarter to a third of our population age 50 and older, we need to ensure more seniors are educated about the potential of abuse so they can protect themselves, and to increase the awareness in the rest of society to identify the signs of elder abuse."According to the California Department of Finance, there were 94,555 people age 50 and older in Solano in 2000, or 23.8% of the county's total population. Declaring Your Love
How to declare your love in order to get a positive answer? Well first of all you have to be sure that you have the reciprocity. If you don't have no guarantees of that you'd better ask yourself if you are ready to get refused. And if you are not, try do get a little bit closer to your object, to learn more about him or her in order to understand what he or she feels. If you can't stay silent any more, and want to declare your feelings whatever the reaction may follow still try to make in a way that will be the most acceptable for you both and won't only push your object away.Demonstrative personalities like loud and bright love declarations probably in public. It can be a heap of red roses, or huge inscription on the wall, serenades under the balcony. You may fall on your knees and read a love poem in a loud voice, you can glue your printed love declaration all around, you may appeal to people around telling her (or maybe him) about your feeling.
