So, I'm making a skirt, very very simple, Butterick B4924 My waist measurement is 30" and my hips are 36" - if I went with my waist measurement, I would cut a size 16. If I went with my hip measurement I would cut a size 12. These patterns seem to be made for perfect womanly figures with a 10" difference between waist and hips - which I am so far from being! =) Is it easier to cut the right hip size and then adjust for my waist? Or cut the right waist size and then adjust for my hips? How would I go about adjusting in either direction? Thank you!!
