Believe it or not, this movie wasn't so horrible. Last night I watched Dead Silence. It's about a man who receives a ventriloquist's dummy in the mail, which is quickly followed up by the death of his wife. Upon her death, he goes back to his hometown where there's a legend about a woman named Mary Shaw who had no children, only dolls...blah blah. Anyway, apparently Shaw and her dolls are exactly revenge on the people that were part of her disappearance. For some reason Donnie Wahlberg opted to star as the police officer chasing the widowed husband. I'm not really calling him a great actor...but it just seemed like an odd choice for him.Overall it was really creepy (at least watching it by myself), and I looooved the ending. In the years that followed, the town seemed to be haunted by those ghastly puppets. After mysteriously disappearing from Mary’s grave, the menacing figurines would sometimes be glimpsed by the damned in the dead of night — their appearance consistently foreshadowing the death of whoever laid eyes upon them.
