Pigeon Attacked with Darts in the Head
Pigeons Attacked with Darts in the head in Seattle, Washington alarmed people in the city center. According to reports, there are at least three birds found alive with the needlelike projectiles in their heads. "This is just a horrifying case," Tori Perry, a cruelty case worker for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, told the Seattle Times."Someone who would do this to an animal is a short step away from doing this to a human being."The darts appear to have been fired from a blow gun and have not penetrated the pigeons' brains, Perry said. The injuries, however, are likely to worsen and become infected, resulting in "a very, very painful death," she added. Link

Belgian Darts - Vogelpiks - Wooden Darts
I’ve surfed the net looking at various dart sites long enough that when I come across something totally new, it makes my day.  And, that happened just the other night.  I’m aware of several different variations of the wooden dart/wood board dart game pairing.  For instance, there’s DartBall and the previously mentioned Troy darts.  I recently found [...]

      Darts and Pool
The match is 3-3. Jim and I played six games and were split even. We each won a game of cricket, 201, and 301. We needed a tiebreaker. I said first person to hit a 20 can choose what game for the tiebreaker. He missed, I hit. My game of choice: 301. Well I don’t play darts often, in fact hardly at all. I was getting smoked. Jim was within just a few points of zero and I was at a massive 82. The pressure was on. I had been missing triple twenties all night. This time I nailed it. Now a reasonable 22 to go with two darts left. I knocked out one 11, then the second. Game over (we didn’t play any of that fancy double-in double-out stuff). It was another great comeback on the trip. There have been several, all while being the visiting opponent. Jim gave me a good challenge. However, I have to say with my highly competitive nature I take an evil pleasure being the non-suspecting guest that’s just passing through and the kicking butt in a game of darts, pool, or bowling.

      Hearts or Darts?
Next week Coffeehusband and I have a big old Wedding Anniversary coming up. While I would like to say I'm so in love that I see little hearts dancing around his head when I look at him, the truth is, this past few days I have kind of felt like throwing darts at his head. LOL. When you are married for almost 19 years, with three kids and full time jobs it's just easy to let some things slide,

      Bullseye Darts
Bullseye Darts is a classic dart game where you can prove you can be a dart champion with the shortest time. Use the mouse to move the rotating target around the board, click to throw the dart. The aim of the game is to get from 501 to 0 points. The outer band is double point, the middle tripple. The center is the bullseye for 50 points, and the circle rimming that 25. To win you need to reduce your score to exactly 0 and finish with your last shot on either a double or a Bullseye. You can play against the computer, or against a friend. While playing against the computer, a one shot game will be played to find out who will start the game. Have fun! Play this game!

      Womens Darts
Please… SPARE ME! You know, if I was at the Lakeside, the mens darts had finished for the day and I wanted a few more beers - I might watch it… Jeering very loudly. But televised? Seriously? Get outta town! Monstrosities like Andy Ford with his equally fat and stumpy darts are bad enough, but there’s something distinctly macho-lesbian about these horrible sovereign-sporting excuses for females. I’m all for televising more female sport, whatever you like.. Put on some netball with hot uniforms or something.. I could take that! Beach volleyball failing that. Maybe the other way round on second thoughts.. Whatever, Womens Darts?! WTF man!! I hate that stupid blonde hoe that wins it every year - yep, there we go, she’s just won it for the seventh time. She can go celebrate with a pint of bitter, probably… Urgh. /rant

dividing up darts posted by JuliaS
I've put together a muslin of the Amy Butler Cabo Halter and like the way it fits, except for the dart. The dart is fairly good-sized to start with and after my FBA, it is one big honkin' dart. It gives me a fairly pointy, Madonna-esque look. I think I'd like to divide it up into two darts. (maybe even three?) Is this as easy as I think it is? I understand how to rotate darts but can't find explicit directions on how to divide one up. I'm thinking of picking two new dart points on either side of the original one, then dividing up the width of the dart and centering it around the new dart points and drawing new dart legs. Does this sound right? And I'm trying to check out other patterns and find out if the new dart points should be at the same vertical level. Should one be higher than the other? Should it be the one closer to CF that is lower?Last post by ryan's mom at Thu 12 Jul 2007 08:31:22 AM Total posts: 2 Visit PatternReview.com to read this entire topic.Get more

Creating bust darts in a flat tank pattern posted by ocotillo
I'm making a top from a Japanese pattern book, "Sewing Lesson" by Machiko Kayaki. It's a very basic tank top/sleeveless shell style with some embellishment on the front. There are two main pattern pieces--a flat front and a flat back, no darts. The shape cuts in at the waist and pattern pieces are placed on the fabric bias, creating a draping/fitted effect in the shirt. I'd like to make the shirt out of a casual cotton broadcloth first, and then possibly a dressier silk if I can get the fit right. I've made a muslin and can see some fitting issues that I'd like advice on. Keep in mind that I'm a beginner, so things that may be obvious to most sewers may not be to me--in other words, I'd appreciate any comments. These are the issues/questions with photo links below: 1) I realized while pinning the muslin together that the back piece is significantly wider than the front, and you can see the result in the photos. I triple checked, and I cut the pattern correctly. Th

Messing with darts to totally revamp a dress posted by tr1c14
My beloved TNT dress pattern is !Vogue 7931. Probably half my stash is stuff I've thought, "Hey, this would be nice as V7931." It's also the first thing I made a successful FBA on. Now I want to play with it a bit, and I'd like to run this past people who know what they're doing, to make sure I'm getting it. I want to change this into this I think I can do it by manipulating darts and turning them into gathers, plus adding gathers in the side seam. My first change to the basic pattern piece would be to change the angle of the wrap so it goes all the way across instead of lining up with the bust point, and meets the other side a bit below the bust, rather than at the waist. Then I'll convert the bust shaping darts to gathers at the shoulder, by slashing and spreading the shou

I need some help with bust darts posted by KempCorr
I'm working on a simple top, but the darts look really wierd. I'm a D cup -- would a too wide dart create a pointy effect? Wonky bust darts posted by michellep74
I know that I'm constantly complaining about the size of the FBA that I need to do in order to get my tops to fit. One of the things that I hate about doing a huge FBA is the huge bust dart that results. My bust darts have historically looked...odd. I had *hoped* that this was because they were huge, so I've started playing around with different FBA methods and dart rotations...well, I shrunk the
