My heart broke, right along with the rest of the racing world on that Sunday. I can still hear the words "We have lost Dale Earnhardt" ringing in my head like a bad dream. The Intimidator dead? That has to be wrong, but it wasn't wrong. What a tragic loss. I have been a dedicated fan of Dale's for as long as I can remember. When 150,000 Corvette enthusiasts vist the National Corvette Museum every year, one of the treats they encounter is a special display in honor of Dale Earnhardt.At the base of the spire (or "frustrum" as it is called by some) in the SkyDome, display cases present a wide range of items either which had been owned by Dale Earnhardt, or were created to honor him.
