Daily Kos' Latest Defense of Their 9/11 Cartoon: It Never Happened -- AN UPDATE

There is nothing I would like more than to drop this whole miserable episode with Daily Kos and its rabid supporters, but they just won't let me. The DK has now deleted this post and all references to it from their site. Thus, it never happened. It was a made-up story, a Re

This is from Moonbattery, found via Conservative Grapevine From a post inspirationally entitled, “If Moral Greatness Were a Medal Count, America Would Not Be No. 1“: We are the wealthiest nation in the world and widely indoctrinated to consider ourselves the “greatest” nation. Daily Kos Founder Turns on Barack Obama
This is just too funny. The founder of the Daily Kos,  Markos Moulitsas, has finally realized that Barack Obama was lying about his stance on the war, and efforts to fight the war and now he is turning on Barack Obama. What is funny about this to me is the fact that so many people [...]

What do we call people who can dish it out but can't take it, Daily Kos?
You gotta love it! Of course, the Daily Kos would never talk about non-substantive issues like "Macacca," Valerie Plame, Dick Cheney hunting accidents, yes? They complained when Republicans were asked whether they believed the Bible was the literal word of God or they were forced to give their position on evolution, right? No mention of Pat Robertson, Hagee, Prescott Bush, si? McCain's age? No "bomb Iran" or "100 years of war" misquotes. Rudy Giuliani's personal life? Pathetic. About wedge issues: Who brought them up in the first place? We were going merrily along for 2000 years and them somebody thinks it's good for two men to marry. Is everybody else just supposed to shut up? People had their guns, and then somebody wants to take them away. Just hand them over? If you don't want wedge

Operation Chaos: Daily Kos Finds Photo of Bill Clinton with Jeremiah Wright
UPDATE: Huffington Post is covering it too. Chaos!! The Left is going to tear itself apart and come out with a big zero in the end. The Daily Kos just found a photo of Jeremiah Wright and Bill Clinton. While this means nothing because Bill Clinton probably shook hands with thousands of people in his lifetime, the people at Kos are probably going to run with it and make this into a chaotic... Hillary Clinton vs. Daily Kos Purity Trolls
"Purity Trolls" is the term that HairyTrueMan used to describe a particular class of the Daily Kos mob that he obviously dislikes. The interesting part about this is that he is attacking the purity trolls in order to defend the purity of Hillary Clinton. Here is his definition of a purity troll: "'Purity Trolls' These are trolls from the left. Otherwise known in real life as drama queens. No matter how pure your position is, their position is more pure. No matter how compassionate or informed or skeptical or vigorous your opinion is, theirs is more of it. These trolls are insistent that they are the true spirit of liberalism, and spend their time being quite put out that the rest of us don't turn over our resources, our audiences, and our respect to them, regardless of how thin their positions may be on the merits. Drives me nuts, personally."Honestly, after reading the quote I was starting to like HairyTrueMan. He even said that Hillary wouldn't be his first choice. I really thoug

Daily Kos Bloggers Flock to Stark's Defense
First off, what Pete Stark first said (speaking to his Republican colleagues):“You don't have money to fund the war or children, but you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement."Pelosi's response to what Stark said:"While members of Congress are passionate about their views, what Congressman Stark said during the debate was inappropriate and distracted from the seriousness of the subject at hand — providing health care for America's children."Then what Pete Stark recently said:"I want to apologize to my, first of all my colleagues, many of whom I have offended, to the President and his family, to the troops that may have found in my remarks as were suggested in the motion that was just voted on. And I do apologize. And, for this reason: I think that we have a serious issue before us. The issue of providing medical care for children. The issue

Daily Kos: Enough Already with the Pathetic Excuses
The left is seeing that their newly elected Senate majority does in fact have feet of clay. The Democrats have come through on virtually none of their promised “reforms” since winning the mid terms last year. All of the dancing in the streets on the part of the lefty netroots has come to naught as they are realizing that the new boss is same as the old boss. Two things conspired to undermine the probability of the Democrats being able to stop the proposed changes to the FISA laws. 1) The abysmal approval ratings of Congress (This is one of the under reported stories of the year in my opinion) and 2) the fear of being labeled soft on defense as often happens with liberals. I have very mixed feelings on this issue. On the one hand I have not the slightest concern about the fictitious rights of non citizens in or out of the US but I also do not trust the Bush administration to refrain from abusing the powers ostensibly meant to fight terror. In this case I am slightly more frightened of

Daily Kos Trolling: Amerindian Reservations reservations
Amerindian Reservations, July 4, and Today's Issues by ogondai Sun Jul 08, 2007 at 10:41:51 AM PDT "Poverty came with the Reservations. We were forced to live away from our salmon and our other resources. Our poverty is our lack of our Indian resources. These resources are being destroyed... That's what's causing our poverty." Nathan Jim, Sr., Warms Springs Fish Commissioner Though I joined heartily in marking our nation's birth a few days ago, I think part and parcel of the day is keeping in mind whose blood greased our expansion westward. Our country has two original sins -- the suffering of African-Americans as slaves, and the suffering of Native Americans as obstacles to our land usage. We've only truly repented for one of those sins, and don't seem too concerned with the other. Why this is is I also want to examine. Of course, I'm speaking of our own corner of the Third World right here at home -- Amerindian reservations. OK. This is not a nutty opinion and I agree,

Daily Kos: How much of a prick is Rudy Giuliani?
The Democrats are always such a class act. The following piece is a perfect example of what so many of them are really like. Hat tip to Little Green Footballs for pointing out another of their oh so pleasant posts at Daily Kos. Wheres the outrage by the Democrat leadership about this sort of intolerant behavior? Remember the "outrage" when Anne Coulter called John Edwards a fag? Wheres the outrage now? Oh wait...it's ok to slur and insult conservatives....I keep forgetting their double standards. If any lib readers can explain this sort of seemingly hypocritical behavior to me I will gladly give you space here at TPB to do so. ~RJHDaily Kos article link How much of a prick is Rudy Giuliani? by Kagro X Thu Jun 21, 2007 at 04:24:08 PM PDTHow much of a prick is Rudy Giuliani? Daily Kos Bans Copious Dissent
I am proud to say that I have been banned from posting on the Daily Kos after my very first diary on their website. The irony is that I was banned because I submitted a diary titled, “Energy Independence: Solutions Limousine Liberals Don't Want You to Hear.” It is the exact same article I wrote on Copious Dissent, without changing any of the words. Evidently, they “really” did not want to hear it.My situation, absent the obvious violence, reminds me of when the Danish cartoonist drew a cartoon demonstrating that Muslims are violent, and then the Muslims tried to kill him for it. The funny thing is that, in my case, I was banned for outlining libertarian solutions to achieve energy independence. I guess real solutions to problems are intolerable to liberals. The only other potential explanation is that the word “Limousine” when used in front of the word “Liberal” is worse than calling George Bush a terrorist, as those comments are perfectly acceptable on the Daily Kos. Daily KOS Turns 5 (and still acts it)
Kudos to Atrios at Eschaton for this post: Worst American Birthdays Vol. XVI The Daily Kos, born on this date in 2002, is perhaps the most malevolent force in American politics today. Since its establishment, it has done everything possible to silence other voices through the establishment of its diary system, to stop the progress of progressive candidates by bankrolling (with the help of its primary backer George Soros) a series of neo-Nazis like Ned Lamont, and has been openly hostile to the concept of open politics on the internet with its insistence on supporting "net neutrality" and an internet free of FEC regulation. When historians look back on the decline and fall of America, May 26, 2002, will mark the point when order turned to anarchy, where liberal society turned to fascism, where our political discourse was snatched away from our betters and handed over, without thought to consequence, to the dirty masses whose ignorance and incivility drove our elites into hiding and our c

Daily Kos Brings out the tears before the big vote
I honor all of my brothers and sisters in the military, people who voluntarily offered to risk their lives for their country. And, of course, I grieve along with those parents who have lost their children to the war. Now, I was going to criticize Indiana Bob of the Daily Kos for using a nation's condolences to further a political cause, but it was Andrew Bacevich, the father of a fallen Iraqi veteran, who decided to use that sympathy for political reasons (not an attack. It's just being accurate, no?), so I won't mention that aspect of the post. Some points, however: 1. Do soldiers have more credibility on the war or not? Should we listen to parents of fallen soldiers or not? Unless you conduct a survey and alter your opinion accordingly, DON'T MENTION THE FALLEN SOLDIERS OR THEIR PARENTS TO MAKE A POLITICAL POINT. It is what it is: emotional exploitation. How much would you like to bet that Indiana Bob had the same opinion before he read about Bacevich or any other soldier's

Daily Kos: Liberal double think at it's finest
So now making sure that people who vote are actually entitled to vote is a "poll tax"? What sort of screwy double think is that? But thats what I read at Daily Kos just a few minutes ago. I totally don't understand their thinking on this. Texas is attempting to insure that precious resources are not wasted on those not in need. Texas is trying to make sure that people not entitled to vote aren't voting. That's a bad thing? Would it have anything to do with the fact that illegals who vote tend to vote Democrat? Or that convicted felons who vote when they have lost the right tend to vote Democrat? I really don't think an ID or birth certificate to register to vote is onerous. You need that to get a drivers license or to buy cigarettes. I wonder if these silly asses at Daily Kos even believe this incredible spin they are spewing. ~RJH Daily Kos article link Texas Proposes TWO Poll Taxes, Same Requirements Kept Tens of Thousands Off Medicaid Rolls by McCamy Taylor Mon Apr 23

Daily Kos attacks Ledeen for soldier remarks
The Daily Kos, in its usual dismissive and unserious manner criticized this article by Michael Ledeen for this paragraph: Note that an increase in embeds doesn’t necessarily require an increase in overall troop strength. We’ve got lots of soldiers sitting on megabases all over Iraq. They should be out and about, some of them embedded, others just moving around, tracking the terrorists, hunting them down. I don’t know how many guys and gals are sitting in air-conditioned quarters and drinking designer coffee, but it’s a substantial number. Enough of that. By replying thusly: Their level of disrespect for the poor soldiers stuck with the consequences of the mistakes made by Bush, McCain and the rest of the pro-war crowd is breathtaking. But telling. The "support our troops" rhetoric only applies as long as they're making conservatives look good. Otherwise, they get heaped with scorn. A reader replied: Not sure about our troops but I'll bet that 100% of
