A film adaptation has a lot in common with a book review. It is the scriptwriter's take on the book; one man's opinion. Okay, that's a gross simplification perhaps, but bear with me. Actually we'll get round to the bear later.I read Nineteen Eighty-Four ten years before I saw the film starring John Hurt and it was a few years later I saw the BBC adaptation starring Peter Cushing. The film and the TV drama were very different and yet both were faithful to the book. I was genuinely puzzled and read the book again for, I think, the third time.I was lucky to see the TV version. I wanted to mention the whole racial slurs phone conversation drama with Duane (Dog) Chapman from DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER. I really liked the show. I discovered it this summer and would watch one or two episodes one after the other. It was relaxing and the family was fun. Well, I won’t watch it anymore. To me there is absolutely no excuse to use the N-word. I don’t even care what excuses he comes up with, the point is he said it, and it doesn’t matter if he was mad or stressed or whatever dumb excuse he comes up with, if you don’t think it, then you won’t ever say it. He said it, and to me that is just something unforgivable. So we here at Daemon’s TV decided to write Duane “Dog” Chapman and his show, Dog the Bounty Hunter, off our schedule. You might have noticed that there haven’t been many reviews this week on Daemon’s TV, and that’s mostly because of a few things: 1) As you noticed, Daemon’s TV got a makeover. Daemon’s TV is launching a whole new section, the DEATH WATCH. You might ask: What is the Death Watch? It’s your personal guide to all the new TV Shows from the 5 main networks for this Fall 2007. It will include all our predictions about which shows are going to get cancelled and which shows will survive. Death Watch will include counters of how long each show has been on the air. In addition, we will be including polls and updating the information regularly so that you are always up to date with everything happening to your favorite new TV Shows. I’ve been having problems with the Daemon’s TV Feed, for some reason Feedburner is not updating it. The feed itself works fine, so if your feed is not updating, please resubscribe. It’s finally here! The very first episode of Daemon’s TV Podcast. Since we had just gotten back from Comic Con 2007, my friend Eric and I decided to talk about our experience there. So I told you guys that I would have a surprise for you. Well here it is. As you know, another great thing about going to Comic Con apart from the panels, is the free Swag you get (I got my share of it as you can see on the picture above). Most of the Swag are Comic Con Exclusive, so you wouldn’t be able to get it anywhere else, except on Daemon’s TV! Because I love my readers, I decided to snatch extra Swag to give out to you guys who were not able to go to Comic Con this year. Wow, this trip was exhausting, but really great. During my last day, I was able to attend THE 4400 panel and JERICHO panel. Both of them were fun and since they were in a smaller room, I was really close to the stage, AND I even got some footage from both panel, so keep your eye out for it. Starting tomorrow I will be doing big recaps of every panel I attended which include: Lost (already did that one, maybe I’ll add some pictures), Reaper, Bionic Woman, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, The 4400, and Jericho. More pictures too. Since each panel was about an hour long, it might take some time to put everything together so bear with me and if there are any specific panel you would like me to talk about first, feel free to let me know. For now, enjoy some more pictures in the upcoming post. Oh and yeah, in the coming week I will have a surprise for you guys so stay tuned.
