Folks ... I just love this time of the year. I am completely hooked, hopelessly addicted and I adamantly refuse to change. The only solution to this condition is just to give in and enjoy this incredible season. Now, I am not going to totally lose my head, that 'frugal filly' that's a part of who I am ... still defines my boundaries. But I can still enjoy this 'special corner of the year' with all the gift giving, shopping, dinners and parties and not end-up having to sell my car before this seasons is over. I always loved watching car drifts especially BMW E36 ones, but what I enjoy the most is watching these drifts when a car is revolving around a column (or a person Haha). I know, that this is not that hard, but since I didn’t try this ever, I can’t be the judge. BTW, did you ever see a car drifting around a person before? I recall that I’ve seen a video like this but it was not for a BMW. It was for another car (classic car if I remember correctly) with two girls and the driver is revolving the car just one inch far from the girl’s feet. I really thought that was seriously insane, but very good to watch at the same time.

We all know what life means, but a lot of us doesn't know what drifting means, it means causing the car to loose grip on the road (whether by pulling the hand breaks or by other methods) in order to make it slide, then regain control over the car and correct its path. How is life similar to drifting, well drifting has a high risk proportion attached to it, so as in life, when we make a choice in life we are risking something, we are losing control to gain a better grip on our lives, so imagine life as a car, and you hit a turn that you want to go fast in it, the turn is a problem or a decision you need to make, well as you're turning or making the decision, your loosing control on the car and the car is sliding, if you know what you're doing then the slide will go perfect, and you'll enjoy every bit of that drift. But if along the way you took the steering wheel more to one side than necessary then you'll lose control, and the fabulously started drift will become an accident, or
This has become my favorite place to spend lazy summer afternoons.
I like to curl up on the love seat with a cat in my lap and read blogs while Julia plays in the yard. I can easily entertain the occasional neighbor that stops by and they’re none the wiser that my sink is full of dishes. It’s wonderful. (Make sure you clickety click the photo. I’ve left you little love notes all over it.)

I wish I could have captured a good view of the sky. The stars looked amazing. Julia wished the night away on those stars. I really couldn’t think of much to wish for - everything I could ever want was right there.

I just read an email from a fellow 24 Hours of LeMons racer that spoke of a local race track, Altamont Raceway, which is under fire to ban drifting amongst other things. The sport of drifting which is hugely popular here in the Bay Area, and all over the country for that matter, is all about controlled slides and getting your car as sideways as possible. It only makes sense to me that drifting be kept off of public streets and on the race tracks where it is regulated and safe.
The excellent automotive blog site, Jalopnik, wrote a great piece on the entire controversy. Here is an excerpt from their article:
