Beautiful, legendary, and talented, Diana Ross, will receive yet another honorary award. As The Kennedy Center celebrates its 30th anniversary, on December 2nd, it names the diva as its honoree this year. This Caramel Bella is in good company with other greats like pianist Leon Fleisher, actor Steve Martin, singer Brian Wilson and film director Martin Scorsese. The Center honors those who have made siginificant contributions to the American culture through performing arts.
During Ross’ interview with Black Voices, she says the following regarding the honor:

Last night’s show was somewhat of a disappointment to me, I expected all of the contestants to really bring it up a notch and though some remained consistent, others just left me shaking my head. It was a strange night of people forgetting their words (I’m sure due to nerves but that is no excuse), and people putting their on spin on a Diana Ross song (arrangement wise) that should have been left alone. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!! Overall, it was the women who reigned supreme. Diana Ross of course gave tips to all of the contestants individually and hopefully last night she wasn’t cringing during some of her songs.
