Having a cyborg teddy reading out your Twitter alerts... *shiver* the idea gives me the creeps a little. But not the guys who came up with the idea over at HyHome2.0. They've even got an instructional video so you can build your own artificial-voice bear, which uses Bluetooth to get data from your PC so you can plop the toy anywhere and still keep in touch. I'm not going to be building one: I've g

By Donna Haraway : This chapter is an effort to build an ironic political myth faithful to feminism, socialism, and materialism. Perhaps more faithful as blasphemy is faithful, than as reverent worship and identification. Blasphemy has always seemed to require taking things very seriously. I know no better stance to adopt from within the secular-religious, evangelical traditions of United States
Filed under: RobotsRemember those cyborg insects that seemed so much like a pipe dream just two short years ago? Yeah, those frackin' things have somehow survived into adulthood, and are closing in on being ready to infiltrate enemy camps and extract vital information. According to a recent update on the DARPA project, the insects -- which have "modified body structures and micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) embedded" within -- have lasted into adulthood, and now those behind the endeavor are hoping to enable remote control of the bugs via "mechano-sensor activation" or something similar. Additionally, scientists are hoping to harness the energy emitted during locomotion to actually power the internal MEMS. Sure, as long as these critters can be swatted down with a newspaper, we're sol

I have always been fascinated by robots and even more by Cyborgs so this fellow got my attention in just about two seconds. Living and working in Tahoe City, California in USA, Jeremy Mayer disassembles typewriters and then puts them back together as those amazing full size cyborg robotic figures.
Ok I want you to honestly tell me that this Keyboard does not remind you of the dashboard to the USS Enterprise, and Im talking the old school Enterprise where Sulu used to pilot and his wingmen where Spock and Kirk. But besides looking pretty cool all is not lost in this gaudy instrument panel.
* Multi-colour backlighting with Tru Vu illumination through keys (mix shades from Red through Amber to Green) and adjustable brightness
* Touch-sensitive, backlit dashboard control panel

* Cyborg Mode – instantly disable the Windows keys and configure the colour and brightness of your gaming keys at the touch of a button
* Set and forget – persistent key illumination settings ensure colours remain even after a system reboot
* 12 programmable ‘Cyborg’ keys

We featured Saitek’s new Cyborg Gaming Mouse only a few posts back and, whilst we thought that Microsoft’s new Sidewinder probably won out in terms of desirability, we were not averse to the curious styling of Saitek’s new gaming mouse – however, the true cannot be said of Saitek’s frankly hideous Cyborg Gaming Keyboard.
Looking like part of a control panel pulled out of a crash site somewhere near Area 51, if the pre-requisite of the Saitek Cyborg Gaming Keyboard was to look different then certainly Saitek can rest easy knowing that they have achieved their goal – but to what end?
With important gaming keys (W,A,S,D, spacebar and cursor keys) being metal coated and a series of function keys arranged down each side, the keyboard looks like a hotchpotch of differing, wholly uncomplimentary designs hastily pulled together with a (frankly cheap looking) series of multicoloured backlit displays being squeezed in at the top of the keyboard seemingly just to ensure that this des
Some months ago we featured Microsoft’s new Sidewinder gaming mouse which comes complete with an inbuilt LCD screen and a range of features to assist in tailoring the mouse to your exacting requirements – from weights to adjustable resistance – and now, never ones to shy away from a battle themselves, we have this Cyborg Gaming Mouse from Saitek to add to our arsenal of PC gaming paraphernalia.
Offering an impressive 32000 DPI laser resolution, Saitek’s new Cyborg gaming mouse, just like the Sidewinder, comes with weights to adjust the devices feel as fell as the somewhat obligatory four way scroll wheel with adjustable speed setting.
Unlike Microsoft’s Sidewinder Gaming Mouse, however, the Cyborg gaming mouse can also be adjusted in size thanks to a shell featuring a sliding front section thus ensuring that, regardless of your hand size, the Cyborg is sure to offer a comfortable grip as well as precision, weighted control.

I thought I had seen the most advanced and cool looking keyboard when I bought the saitek eclipse 2 keyboard. But I was wrong. Saitek have done it a gain and this time they have even beaten logitech’s G15 keyboard in functionality. Astounding us all with a touch sensitive backlit control panel at the top of the keyboard, and 10 hot keys at the sides.
Also you can scroll from red to green to amber easily, and adjust the brightness. So, weren’t these features available in the saitek eclipse 2? Yes, but this time the colours are saved on shut downs and restarts, removing the annoying matter of reconfiguring the lights every time you start up. This is a great new addition to the cyborg gaming range, along with many others.
What do you think of the saitek cyborg keyboard?

Kanye goes ape s–t in this last segment of Tim Westwood’s show and yes those are his words verbatim when elaborating on his work ethic that he brings to the table when it comes to delivering his product, his music, etc. Do you wanna know why “Graduation” is going to sell more on 9/11 ladies and gents? This brotha wants it more then Curtis does, 50 cent has been nonchalant as of late, his tone of voice, attitude, hes just entirely too complacent. Ye’s determination on the other hand can be heard through his voice, hes got the eye of the tiger right now (cue Rocky theme). Watch the remainder of Kanye’s radio interview after the jump. (more…)

People find me peculiar. They think it’s odd that I spend most of my sleeping hours wearing eight or nine Internet-connected computers sewn into my clothing and that I wear opaque wrap-around glasses day and night, inside and outdoors. They find it odd that to sustain wireless communications during my travels, I will climb to the hotel roof to rig my room with an antenna and Internet connection. They wonder why I sometimes seem detached and lost, but at other times I exhibit vast knowledge of their specialty.A physicist once said he felt that I had the intelligence of a dozen experts in his discipline; a few minutes later, someone else said they thought I was mentally handicapped.Despite the peculiar glances I draw, I wouldn’t live any other way. I have melded technology with my person and achieved a higher state of awareness than would otherwise be possible. I see the world as images imprinted onto my retina by rays of light controlled by several computers, which in turn are contr
