Cutting is my most destructive addiction. I started cutting myself when I was twelve - after my first suicide attempt. It wasn't a suicidal behavior. In fact, self-injuring was my coping mechanism for life. It's what kept me from killing myself. Granted it wasn't a constructive or healthy method, but it worked. That was until one of my students, John, decided to show his teacher the ropes (you can see John in action from White Day and the Baekdu Mountain debate. I love, love using a rotary cutter and have used one for years. With some fabrics, I have trouble with the fabric rolling or bunching up in front of the blade. I'm not sure how to word it. I was cutting out swimsuit fabric this morning that did this and it results in a jagged edge. I even tried putting in a new blade. It cut better but I still had the rolling, jagged edge happening. Has anyone had this problem and come up with a fix? When it comes to my other hobby (fish) it seems like half of what I need, I can buy either at the hardware store, or at the fish store, with a fancy fish label on it, for twice as much. I bought a 28mm used rotary cutter. I put a new blade in, and as I was trying to tighten it, the whole thing fell out of my hand and feel apart. I can't figure out the order to put it back together. The nut goes on the back, but what order does the rest go together? There is a screw, a blade, a weird shaped metal piece, and the orange protector. TIA for any help.
