Way back in April I won this gorgeous shirt form Sunny over at ...And The Pursuit of Happiness. It is from her store Sunshine Designs!Isn't it gorgeous?? This is what I'm wearing out to dinner/drinks tonight. I don't think I've ever worn so much pink before in my life...no, not a pink person, definitely. If anyone asks, it's peach. What do you reckon? Too girly? I feel like a cupcake. And these tights look suspiciously like my other ones I keep wearing, the camera doesn't seem to be able to capture the subtle colour difference.(I'm a go-go dancer.
It's as if our carrot cake and our apple cake decided to get together and have babies. (What really happened is that my father wanted to make a great 3-layer spice cake from Sunset magazine for the 3rd time in a month and I convinced him that cupcakes would be a better way to go.) Swirlz Cupcakes was actually the first cupcake shop I visited on Thursday. After struggling to find parking near Molly’s, I gave up and went to Swirlz and almost immediately found a parking spot across from the shop. God, I hate parking in the city.
Moving on, Swirlz is a small cupcake shop almost nothing like Molly’s. [...]

The average unfrosted chocolate cupcake isn't astronomically high in calories. After all, it isn't enormous, slathered with frosting, or covered with crazy toppings. But even a single (naked) chocolate cupcake has an average of over 200 calories and fat grams in the double digits. And FYI, if you felt like splurging and ordered the Triple Chocolate Cupcake at Starbucks, you'd swallow a ridiculous
Just in time for your summer cupcakes here are a couple various wrappers lying around the internet just waiting for you to pick them up! Just click on the picture to be taken to the store site. The last one isn't a cupcake wrapper but I thought it might make a good one. It's red polka dotted cloth. Neat idea? I could see it in Martha Stewart Living.

The theme ingredient for this month’s Cupcake Hero challenge was cocoa powder. I almost passed this month because I seriously hate cocoa powder. Hate isn’t a strong enough word, I think. Loathe is more like it. When I worked in the cafe, I would have to use cocoa powder in large [...]
Huh? What 15 minutes cupcake? Weird name, right? Well, I don't how to call this. :P It actually a normal cupcake except this is recipe only takes 15 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to bake. Hence, I gave it this name. ;) Had this idea to try this out after seeing a similar recipe on cake in a magazine. It's not only fast to make but very easy too. And you will be surprised with the results too. At least, my husband and I was surprised. Before, we bit into one, I was telling him, "Just dump everything inside, beat, beat, beat and bake. 15 minutes later - done. Hmm ... I don't know... "It turned out moist and fluffy. Yeah, it won't lost out to any other complicated recipes I have tried (baking). I mean if I spend 30 minutes to get this result. I won't want to spend 1 hour or more to get si
I have been playing with the cookie dough lately and made a lot of cute cupcake cookie lollies? or simply just cookies on a sticks. These cupcake cookies have been on my “to do list” for a very long time and I finally had a go making them. I dont have a speciel cupcake cookie cutter so I sat down and draw a template myself. I am very satisfied how they turned out and I have more cake inspired cookies on the way because I had a great time decorating them.It is sugar cookies decorated with royal icing and you can see more cupcake cookie lollies at my gallery.
Continuing on with my look back at previous creations, this is my Banana Fluffernutter Cupcake. This was my March entry into the Cupcake Hero challenge, the theme being marshmallow.

It seems like I am hanging on to the cupcakes at the moment. But I have a mission to find the best vanilla cupcake recipe. So therefor I tried two new recipes last night. One white 125 Best Cupcake Recipes by Julie Hasson and one yellow from Cupcakes by Joanna Farrow. I have tried the white one before but it failed. So this time I must have done my conversion from cup to grams perfect because it was some really great cupcakes that came out of the oven this time. The yellow one must be the most simple one to make a quick batch of tasty cupcakes. All the ingrediens goes in the bowl at the same time and you just beat the batter smooth and thats it really. You can add to the yellow dough: cocoa, lemon, coffee and chocolate chips. Both recipes made a nice dome, they did not shrink and today the

What was once totally unknown to us has now become one of our favourite daily treats: Cupcakes. And who do we have to thank for that pleasure: Dawn Nelson from Cupcake Berlin, whom we fondly refer to as The Cupcake Lady. Her sinful cupcakes are in great demand. Not only do the inhabitants of Friedrichshain love them, she also made celebrities like Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise addicted while they were filming at Babelsberg. But Dawn has not always been a cupcake baker. She was born and raised in Florida, but moved around the states a lot working as a makeup artist for MAC cosmetics and as a freelancer. That’s probably the reason why her cupcakes look tres chic. The pink creams and purple sprinkles must be the remnants of her days of rouge and eyeshadows. We had a little chat with her about Berlin and cupcakes for our feature series “The Makers”. Read the interview and see some photos after the jump. (more…)

It was bitingly cold yesterday. Even thick scarves and coats couldn't keep out the winter weather, so we took refuge in the House of Homosexual Culture. Well, their Christmas Fayre, to be precise, which was full of warmth and winter cheer. It was cupcakes and pom-poms a-go-go at St John's Church in Waterloo. A milky cup of coffee, a snip at 50p and I had a nice sit down to watch the goings on. The Feeling's Dan Gillespie (he's teeny tiny!) was there having a right old chinwag with all and sundry. Amy Lamé, Duckie's New Jersey-born hostess with the most-ess was showing everyone how to make pom-poms - which took EVERYONE back to infant school. Sirena (Sir Ian Mckellen) was due to turn up and lend his support, but we missed him. Hey Ho. We bought some pom-pom making kits and headed off for a hearty Steak and stout pie at the pub around the corner. And very microwaved it was too. Here's a suitably festive accompaniment:Holiday on Skis - Al Caiola And Riz Ortolani (zShare)

Baking again! I'm determine to try baking the usual stuff that I used to get from my friends (who were very into baking then). I'm always told that they are easy especially cupcakes, they said.Cupcakes are very versatile. I have seen so many types of cupcakes. Cupcakes with fillings, fruits, frosting, etc. So I guess I need to try to make the basic cupcake first and from there I can add "salt and vinegar" (Chinese term on adding additional stuff).Hmm ... yeah. I think I can handle cupcakes. My first attempt on cupcakes turned out rather well. My kids finished the whole lot of mini cupcakes! D and I managed to have a really good weekend, we did date night twice and saw "The Kingdom" (If you like action, go see it. We loved it!!). We also saw the builders, and we're going over the plans for one townhouse now. I'm so excited to see us actually moving forward with this. *doing happy dance* Can't wait to flex my interior design muscles, lol.But while he did whatever it is men do on Saturday mornings, I busied myself with wedding gown shopping. See, I say all the time that I'm not a small girl...I've lost 60 lbs or so over the last 15 months, but still teetering between plus size and non-plus size. Anyhoo, the salespeople at every wedding store I've been to seem to think that because I'm a woman of some size that I want some big azz poofy, tulle-d to hell nightmare of a dress. Unfortunately I thought it’d be a great idea to cover them with icing and hundreds and thousands. I got them out of the oven let them cool a bit, I put the icing on and it went everywhere! I went to get the hundred and thousands out of the cupboard, I come back and start sprinkling, the sodding icing dries in 2 seconds, I got sugar strands all over the place!
This is getting to be a bit like an episode of ‘One foot in the Grave’, I go to get the dust pan and broom, sweep everything up, including the cat food prin gets everywhere and then the dust pan falls off the end of the stick, hundreds and thousands and cat food everywhere - again. ugh. The cripple as I affectionatly call her, decided to help out by eating the cat food though. Which reminds me - My car is now fixed! (My mum was so upset because of smudge
I've seen this recipe floating around the net for several months now. At first, I was hesitant about one of my cupcakes being compared to a factory packaged cupcake. Not to mention that I secretly love Hostess cupcakes and would be crushed if my cupcakes sucked. The recipe is from Food and Wine, and while it is reminiscent of the Hostess version it does not come close to being a "real" Hostess cupcake. The problem was the marshmallow filling, it just wasn't as good as Hostess's. The cake part had a mild chocolate taste, not too dark. The icing on top was great, I liked it better than Hostess's but alas, the marshmallow goodness was not there. Do not fret my cupcake lovers, these cupcakes were a crowd pleaser. Even though they did not meet my standards, everyone at work squealed and cried for one. I felt like some sort of cupcake rock star. It was great!

Yum Yum Yum. Semk's cupcake speakers are a world away from your average girly gizmo. Normally, I would run a mile from this kind of ultra frou-frou, pastel twinkiness, but these little objects are somehow different.
Maybe it's because it looks like a cake and I LOVE CAKE. Of one thing, however, I am sure. A couple of the guys at Mondo Giz would love them - basically because they look like a pneumatic pair of tits, the nipples covered by heart-shaped pasties. No prizes for guessing who I'm thinking of, eh, Jason and Jesus?
Fresh out of the factory, there's no word on price or availability yet, and the Semk site is playing silly buggers right now, but I reckon these will sell like hot cakes. Oh dear. -Addy Dugdale [Technabob]

A muffin is not a cupcake, but how does one ultimately distinguish between the two delectable treats? They are both after all approximately the same size and shape and come in a variety of flavors. This article will illuminate some of the distinguishing factors.First of all, a muffin can be categorized in several different ways. It can be a meal, typically had for breakfast, it can be a snack, and it can even be a dessert. It is usually consumed first thing in the morning and they are usually considered to be somewhat healthy. They can even be eaten with a meal, instead of perhaps bread rolls or slices. Restaurants often serve them with a salad to add the extra carbohydrate filler that many people seem to crave with their salads. They are consumed with juice, milk and other such beverages, even soda during lunch.A cupcake, on the other hand, is often something that is considered a dessert and a dessert by definition only. It is a treat that is not considered a meal and most would not f

I was shopping at Jennifer Kaufman this weekend to fill up my Juicy charm bracelet when I saw the next piece jewelry that I must have. Of course it would be better if someone would buy it for me... but I supposed I can put aside some money to get myself a little present.
Here is what I did end up buying for my charm bracelet which is now filled up quite nicely (however I think I really want to pack it full like that AWESOME Marc Jacobs charm bracelet I saw) ....
I started out with the lipstick charm and the bracelet (duh)
