Remember that big lawsuit where Barbie maker Mattel was suing MGA? Well, Mattel won. A court ruled that the inventor of Bratz, Carter Bryant, was an employee of Mattel when the thought of the idea for Bratz and therefore Mattel was the one in the wrong.

My friend Kcee tagged me with this meme, well, I should say this is quite a fun thing to do..I don't have that much crushes on the Hollywood world but I will try to find one, two or more, lol! Well, thanks friend, for sharing this meme with me.INSTRUCTION: List men you dream about, occasionally drool over and go gaga for. He may be a Hollywood hottie, a local celebrity, a politician, an Asian superstar or even an anime character! It’s up to you how you narrate your stories but there are two rules: 1.Post pictures (I want to see what is all the hotness about), 2. Keep the linky linky alive (Tip, highlight the text which has links, right click and choose View Selection Source and just copy the HTML). Link the post where you wrote about the topic so women can find more drool-worthy men. (Yo
Sparks are flying for one unlikely couple in Tinseltown. Though Orlando Bloom’s been long linked to Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, and rumors have Jennifer Aniston paired with a different hunk every week, new reports claim the twosome have eyes for each other.

Okay, so I know Valentine's Day was last week and this post is all late... while Cupid's bow didn't exactly miss me nor leave me crippled, I was thinking about this just now - have you ever read a book and felt not only impressed by the weight of the work but so impressed by the dynamic of the person who thought it up that you felt (let's say 'intrigued') to find out more about the author? It's happened to me personally twice. The first time - it was Hemingway. Don't laugh, I know he's, well, old and dead! But I've always been attracted to older men and his writing - it's simply unparralled.Simple, strong, full of imagery and fills me with a wanderlust that I just can't describe. To me, he is Cuba, cats, cigars, manliness, the Florida Keys, Caribbean crystal waters and fishing, guns and the h
Match making Fearne Cotton set up a lunch date between Dannii Minogue and X-factor contestant Chris Gale, only for Dannii to later crush his dreams of being on the show.
Chris sang, “Hello Again” by Neil Diamond when he auditioned in Birmingham only to be told by Dannii that she was not putting him through.
“She’s playing hard to get, isn’t she? Maybe she’s done that because she wants to separate our wonderful relationship from the whole X-factor thing” Chris said.
The third episode of X-factor saw a Japanese woman who had traveled 6,000 miles just to meet Simon Cowell. She told Simon “I like you very much. I came here to meet you. You are very big in Tokyo”.
“You’re very cute I may have to take you home” was Cowell’s response.

I wonder if executives at Starbucks (SBUX) feel like a deer in the headlights of the freight train that is McDonalds (MCD).
McDonald's announced today that global comparable sales rose 6.5% in July, well ahead of the 4% estimates. Systemwide sales for all McDonald's restaurants (this number includes franchises) worldwide increased 11.7% for the month.
McDonald's Chief Executive Officer Jim Skinner said, "We continue to connect with customers through our menu variety and value, innovative...

Jeana over at Days to Come has written a funny post about sweaty palms and blog crushes. After I finished chuckling I thought a meme was in order. It’s summer, it’s hot, we’re busy…who doesn’t love a good meme? So, I give you The Blog Crush Meme:
1. What was the first blog you read? The very first blog I ever read was Kerflop.com. At the time it was called VeryMom.com. I remember being struck by her sense of humor about motherhood. Her writing was, and is, charming.
2. Do you still read that blog? Yes, I occasionally do.
3. Do you have a blog crush, in other words, is there a blogger you’d love to meet? Blush…I’d love to meet the Pyromaniacs, Phil, Dan and Frank. I don’t think they know how much their writing has ministered to and challenged me over the past two years. “Thank you” is simply insufficient. I’d love to prepare them and their wives a home-cooked meal.
4. Upon meeting would you crumbl

FAST bowler Dilhara Fernando took a career-best 4-24 to guide Sri Lanka to a 70-run win in the first ODI against Bangladesh in Colombo on Friday. The host took a a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after scoring 6-234 in its 50 overs and then dismissing Bangladesh for 164 in the 41st over. Man-of-the-match Fernando took all his wickets in a lively opening spell which saw Bangladesh tumble from 0-45 to 5-56. Sri Lanka earlier rode on impressive half-centuries from Chamara Silva (65) and Upul Tharanga (57) to reach a competitive total. "Hats off to Fernando. He has really come back strongly,'' said Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene. "We made early mistakes and Bangladesh bowled well. Credit should go to Tharanga and Silva as it was not easy to bat. We capitalised in the last 10 overs as well.'' Sri Lanka was in trouble at 3-67 after being put in to bat, but left-handed opener Tharanga and Silva propped up the innings with an 83-run stand for the fourth wicket. Ba
Back in 1976, California rocked the wine world when its wines beat out French wines in a blind tasting at what has become known as the Judgment at Paris. Now it is the California wine world that is being rocked with the expected announcement that a $1.99 bottle of Charles Shaw Chardonnay has been named the best in the state at the the California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition.A record number of 3,029 wines from 660 California vintners were sampled earlier this month by 16 panels of 64 wine judges. Winning wineries are just now starting to receive word of the results, but news has leaked out that Charles Shaw is the top chardonnay for 2007.Shaw is nicknamed Two Buck Chuck because in California it sells for $1.99 at the Trader Joe's grocery chain. Elsewhere around the country you will find it for $2.99 at Trader Joe's. Made by Franzia's Bronco Winery, the Shaw label has been viewed by many as a good -- not great -- wine with a very democratic price. Now with the California Sta
INDIA’S Sania Mirza was sent packing from the French Open on Thursday losing 6-1 6-4 in just 64 minutes to Serbia’s Ana Ivanovic in a second round tie.
The 20-year-old from Hyderabad, who once again had heavy strapping around her right knee, was no match early on for the power-hitting of the No.7 seed and she ceded the first set in just 23 minutes.
She steadied the ship by holding her serve after a marathon opening game to the second set and shook Ivanovic at times with some of her more…
Democracy does not guarantee us freedom from tyranny. Venezuela is a perfect example of this reality as Chavez was elected with a decisive majority. What I find most disturbing though is not Hugo Chavez's rise to power, but the extent to which the American left seems to fawn over this dictator. These are the same folks who accuse President Bush of crushing dissent. If that is the case, why have they not suffered the same fate as their colleagues in Venezuela? The fact is that the Democrat party is an authoritarian party that seeks centralized control over all citizens. They fawn over Chavez because he possesses the type of power they themselves wish they had (and seek to attain). Unfortunately, it is Chavez’s power structure they admire and not our own.Just today, Dictator Chavez shut down an opposition-aligned television station Radio Caracas Television, RCTV, and replace it with a new state-funded channel.
The first of the "TOP TEN TUESDAYS"!So every Tuesday from now on, I will be making Top Ten lists. This week to start it off I've made a list of my top 10 non A-List celeb crushes. You won't be seeing the likes of Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, or Scarlett Johansson on this list. Hope you like it, and feel free to post feedback.Millions of fans of "Monk" were disappointed when Sharona officially left the cast of the show, but Traylor Howard's appearance as the new assistance made it a much smoother transition than any other person would have. She really worked at it to make us like her when we were still looking back on Sharona, and she did a great job at it. She's no stranger to parts where she can win you over... you may remember her from "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place". Rachael Ray is fairly well known, being one of the Food Network's top celebrities alongside names such as Emeril and Alton Brown. Why is she on my top ten list? Well, she's probab

I would encourage all parents to read Steve Olsen’s heartbreaking account of his experience in the public school.
Here we have a brilliant young mind that is systematically stifled and neglected over the course of twelve years. He went to one of the best schools in one of the most highly regarded states in terms of education: Minnessota. Here was a student that had a real burning curiosity for learning. His passion was stifled by uncaring teachers and peers.
Two years later in Jr. High, I took an Apple II computer class. On the first day of class, I looked through the syllabus, found the last lesson, loaded the 5 1/4 inch floppy, and completed it. I beamed with pride and arrogance. The teacher looked at my program, turned bright red, yanked me out of my seat by my ear, and I fell to the floor humiliated. He pointed to the door and said, "get out of my classroom" He forced me to sit in the hall the rest of the semester and failed me.
Tragically, that was
