Animal Cruelty: The Key to Serial Minds
What makes a common person a Serial Killer? According to research, serial killers exhibit what is known as the 'Triad of Warning Signs in Childhood.'1Indicators include:* Firestarting, invariably just for the thrill of destroying things* Cruelty to Animals: Most children can be cruel to animals, such as pulling the legs off of spiders, but future serial killers often kill larger animals, like dogs and cats, and frequently for their solitary enjoyment rather than to impress peers.* Bedwetting beyond the age when children normally grow out of such behavior. One of society's more notorious serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer explained that wanted to remove 'free will' from his victims so that they would stay with him. Animal Cruelty on Lobster
We went to The Prime Cuts last night with another couple, and the restaurant specialties are steak and lobster. Nearby the maître d' stand there was a big tank parading huge, healthy lobsters (thank God they did not show live cows too). I asked one of the staffs when we were collecting our coats back, if the lobster are for a show or they actually use (cook) them. She said that they do use the lobster in the tank if someone orders it. But the patrons are not allowed to pick the lobster by themselves. Why?Because it's considered as an animal cruelty. So you can order the lobster, but you can't point one of the inhabitants in the tank and tell the chef that you specifically want that lobster on the left corner because it looks fresher and bigger than the others! This triggered my curiosity so

Eco-Friendly Fashion Footwear: Cruelty Free Fashion Shoes Every Woman Must Have This Fall/Winter
Eco-Friendly Fashion Footwear: Cruelty Free Fashion Shoes Every Woman Must Have This Fall/WinterBy: Sara KuberskyMost Vegan women like myself dread of the thought that over 35 million beautiful, intelligent animals are killed just for their fur or leather on their backs (and that’s only the wintertime!), but that doesn’t stop us from being every bit as stylish as our carnivorous counterparts. Except for the fact, that we only want cruelty-free fashion, we have the same desire to collect dozens upon dozens of sandals, sneakers, loafers, flip-flops, knee-high boots, and other footwear for our shoe wardrobe. Ten years ago, this would have been a challenge – one that would seem almost impossible as all vegan shoes practically looked the same.Nowadays, finding cruelty-free shoes isn’t a

      Sweet Science Or Carnal Cruelty?
I have been a fan of boxing for as long as I can remember. I think there is nothing more basic in sport then the idea of two people, evenly matched, with nothing but their will and desire, going face to face to determine who is better. I also treasure the time my grandfather spent with me watching the best matches of the 60’s and 70’s. That being said, I am finding it more and more difficult to watch professional boxing. It makes me a little queasy, giving me that "something's not right" feeling. Professional boxers pound each other resulting in bloody faces, bruised bodies, and damaged vital organs. The long-term ill effects on their central nervous systems has been medically documented and proven — post concussion syndrome is a common thing when the goal is to concuss the opponent into submission. According to the Journal of Combative Sport, 1,465 boxers have died in the ring — including Duk Koo Kim, whom I watched receive a relentless beating at the hands of

      Animal Cruelty as Art
From Internet Ronin "Costa Rican artist Guillermo Habacuc Vargas paid two children to find a dog in a barrio of Managua, Nicaragua for an exhibition he had scheduled there. In the name of art, Vargas then tied up the dog in a corner of the salon, denied it food and water, and waited for it to die.""Habacuc has been selected to represent his nation at the prestigious Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008."I used to own an art gallery in Atlanta and if someone had submitted crap like this to me I'd have pressed animal cruelty charges against them and gotten them blackballed from any reputable art venue. Animal Cruelty Case in Waynesboro - September 25
We are currently on scene at 1616 5TH St. working an animal cruelty / welfare case. Animal control received a call for a foul odor in the vicinity of the residence and upon arrival officers confirmed it was emitting from 1616. Upon looking into the back yard three dogs were observed in the rear of the residence with a significant amount (ground practically covered) of animal feces in the back yard. Animal control was unable to get an answer at the door of the residence and summoned patrol officers to assist. Upon arrival these officers continued to attempt to make contact because a TV and fans were on the residence. Finally, officers made contact with the owner of the house who consented to a search of the residence and the removal of any animals found therein. Officers entered but found cat liter 4-5 inches deep on every surface. The door had to be forced open due to being blocked by litter and debris on the floor. Many interior doors were the same. In addition to the three dogs anim

Britney gets a visit from animal cruelty group
In addition to the growing risk of losing custody of her two sons, Britney Spears came very close to giving up her dog to an anti animal cruelty group. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in LA went over to Britney’s mansion to look into allegations of possible mistreatment of her Yorkshire Terrier. The group quickly responded to reports that her dog’s broken leg had gone untreated. Thankfully her veterinarian was able to send over a written statement proving otherwise. Apparantly te pop star put the tiny puppy in a crib with sons Sean and Jayden, who subsequently hurled the pet onto the floor. Britney seriously needs to be told how to look after a dog, if it’s true that this stupid woman put a tiny puppy in a crib with young children.

The Cruelty of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia
By Anne MillsIt is a striking characteristic of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia (CFS/FM) that people have such incredible difficultly in accepting that someone with CFS/FM is really ill. While being assailed by hideous assaults on body, mind and an individual’s very being, sufferers face yet more staggering obstacles created by the lack of true understanding from other people. This is a very real situation that has to be faced by many sufferers, and can be a crushing impediment to improvement.Sufferers face a huge struggle in trying to convey the despair and helplessness felt when in the grip of CFS/FM, while being confronted with disbelief, allegations of malingering or pathetic weakness, blame for bringing illness on themselves, insinuations that the illness is purely psychological or just imagined, claims of attention-seeking, or any number of harsh judgments rising from ignorance or lack of compassion. Many people can only relate to their own experiences, so are incapabl

Much at Stake in Stopping Animal Cruelty
By LAURA SCOTT lascott@kcstar.com.The grand jury indictment of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has focused attention on the grisly underground activity of dog-fighting.The federal charges are a reminder that animal abuse of a horrific nature, even if prohibited by law, goes on all too often. Some people even call it “sport.” It attracts money, drugs, and gambling, all bathed in the blood of animals who have been trained, tortured and abused to get them to go after other dogs until the death. The Vick charges represent the extreme of animal cruelty. That’s why the details make us squirm uncomfortably. If the charges are true, the ways losing dogs were dispensed with indicate terribly sick individuals, one of whom has been held up as an athletic role model.Other people copy celebrities. They think it is cool to have a dog that they train (or mistreat) so it will be vicious or frightening or tough. It is a status symbol. Such thinking can create dangerous owners who disregar

The Beijing 2008: Olympics of Cruelty
:: GOVERNMENTS ALL OVER THE WORLD will - concerning CCP and China - soon after the Olympics in Beijing 2008 say: "I didn´t see", "I didn´t hear", and "I didn´t know". Michal Nissensson writes in Omedia:In a world awash with information and with the scale of horrors in China, the human rights abuses, and organ harvesting out there for all to see, world leaders cannot absolve themselves of culpability and say "I didn´t see", "I didn´t hear", and "I didn´t know". Those who consciously elect to sit idly by what is happening China will one day have to explain to themselves and their voters why they failed to move heaven and earth to change the situation and why they chose to support the continuation of the Olympic Games, tainted as it was with anti-democratic acts of inhuman cruelty. A voice against Cruelty!!
When people think of cruelty, they often think of a person starving or beating an animal. In other words, they think of actions that are against the law. They may also think of things done by other nations, such as whale hunting, bear farming, bull fighting, or clubbing seal pups. But what do you think about the kind of cruelty that this video portrays. When will consciousness dawn upon us?So what is cruelty? In what ways do animals suffer?• Pain. All animals with backbones (vertebrates) feel pain like we do. Hooking fish, fire branding cattle, catching animals in steel-jaw traps, cutting tails off lambs and beaks off hens, all cause pain.• Stress and Fear. Vertebrate animals feel anxiety like we do. Transport is very stressful for animals, especially live export overseas. Being pulled out of the water and left to suffocate causes great stress to fish. Dairy calves taken from their mother after 1 day and trucked to slaughter at 1 week of age suffer greatly.• Frustration. Animals n

Eco-friendly and cruelty free household cleaning products
It's easy to find cruelty free (meaning no Animals has been used for testing) beauty products. Just go to a health food store or a mega mart like Whole Foods and Wild Oats. You will find aisles of organic, cruelty free shampoos, lotion, face cream.. ect.. for your shopping pleasure. But what about household items such as laundry detergent, dish soap, and such? There's a great company called Method that provides all these products and more. But the best thing is that they are affordable, convenient (you can find it at Target) and pretty hip to boot. You don't have to look like some crunchy granola eating environmentalist. (Not that I have anything against Granolas)Here are some facts about Method ProductsBiodegradable: the environment doesn't need any more toxics released into our atmosphere and Method solves that problem by using natural ingredients like Soy, Coconut and even Grapefruit. What a peace of mind that is!!!Today's topic is something that is very close to my heart. Being an animal lover and also a pet owner. I can't imagine what these animals go through as they are being tortured in the name of science. I am talking about Animal Testing. Here's what Caring Consumer had to sayHundreds of thousands of these animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed every year in outdated product tests for cosmetics, personal care products, household cleaning products, and even have banned all animal tests forever, still force substances into animals’ stomachs and drip chemicals into rabbits’ eyes. These tests are not required by law, and they often produce inaccurate or misleading results—even if a product has blinded an animal, it can still be marketed to youThere have been

Now, people around are not being allowed by the police for feeding the birds with pigeons."The pigeons are damaging the beauty of this building. We would bring falcons (prey birds) at the Albert Hall so that they fly elsewhere," Raje told media on Tuesday."If Raje really wants some reforms, she should catch the Kabootarbaj," someone said referring to MPs indulging in human t

      Prevention Against Cruelty To Animals
This is a special and an earnest request to the mankind on the very special “International Guide Dog Day”, Wednesday April 18th.On this very special day let us all step forward to prevent the cruelty to the beautiful creations of the Lord. Cruelty to the animals means the treatments that many among us do intentionally or unintentionally to cause sufferings to the innocent animals.Just like us, the animals have their very own rights. Keeping this in the mind lets not treat the innocent creatures as commodities and use them against their own interest for our benefits. When again it comes to the animal welfare we should step forward to diminish their sufferings and pain, lest their sparkling eyes do not afloat with tears.I, personally, feel awfully bad about the idea of making the life of an innocent creature painful by making them pulling loaded carts against their own best will or making a dog work in the scorching sun.Let them live in peace and let them enjoy all the colors of this

      The cruelty of male circumcision
Today it is quite unthinkable to question the cruelty of female circumcision if you are a relatively informed person. However, to my own amazement, male circumcision (see picture) is still considered by many to be perfectly justified. It must evidently be so, considering how often this surgery is performed on young naive infants. At one point in my life I actually became a little bit ambiguous as to whether circumcision might perhaps be justified. It was last year when, during my exchange year at UCSB, I attended some highly entertaining and informative lectures on Human Sexuality taught by two very charismatic (and married) professors John Baldwin and Janice Baldwin. You can read more about the Baldwins' view on circumcision here. I am not being ironic when I say that these were indeed great lectures, and that is perhaps why they almost convinced me that the costs and benefits associated with male circumcision more or less cancels out. As far as I can remember they referred to two pos
