Well that’s it for Big Brother 9, what a good season this was. I read on a couple of blogs where fans were asking if this was the worst season of Big Brother ever and my response is simply this, no way, Like I said, this was a good season, Big Brother had a good group of characters, the twist of having the 16 houseguests compete as couples was a first in BB history and it was good for a little while.Now the couples were: Ryan & Allison, Shelia & Adam, James & Chelsia, Matt & Natalie, Amanda & Alex, Parker & Jen and here’s where it got tricky, Jacob and Sharon were the first evicted couple and Neil left due to personal issues, so Joshuah choose Sharon as his partner, so the final couple was Joshuah & Sharon. Like so many others, the drama of the Brazilian Grand-Prix yesterday on Sunday had me on the edge of my seat for the duration of the race. It was an interesting situation, all Hamilton had to do was to finish with 5 points and he would have won the championship but the young rookie driver made a big mistake at the start of the race and slid off the track which cost him a few places and then later in the race, faced some gear-box issues which lost him 30 seconds more and in the end it was something that Lewis Hamilton could not make up for preventing him from becoming the first ever rookie F1 champion. This fight is amazing and not just because of Fedor, but Nogueira's ridiculous ability to take all of the extremely hard punches. I was amazed how Big Nog could take the punches and just keep continuing to try for a submission. Fedor escaped the submission attempts so easily, it really was uncanny after seeing Nogueira dispatch almost all of his other opponents with submissions. Florante Condes, the newly-crowned IBF minimumweight champion has declared that he will agree to a rematch with former champion, Indonesian Muhammad Rachman, regardless of where the fight is held. Over at Shoot the Core, a small write up has been posted by Postman detailing his adventures at the Midwest Gaming Classic and the "The World's Greatest SHMUP Player" competition. The article breaks down the way the tournament was organized, and has a ton of great pictures to go along with the write up. When the smoke cleared, it seems that DJ Incompetent walked away the first place winner, and crowned the event's first ever champion. I'm a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to make the trip up to Wisconsin this year, but after seeing the details of the event I'm already thinking about penciling in my calendar a trip to next year's MGC. They stated that had over 100 competitors for the SHMUP tournament, so any amount of healthy competition is always a good thing. Congratulations to this year's winners.

Carlos Romero has emerged victorious in the Pac-Man World Championships sponsored by Namco Bandai, Microsoft, and Quiznos. The 27 year old from Pachuca, Mexico, out lasted 9 other finalists with a final score of 22,160 points played via the new Pac-Man Championship Edition game. With a 25 GB capacity, and the potential to be the future of High-Def content, Sony pushed the format as much as they could, even bundling it into the PS3. Unfortunately, the Playstation 3 hasn’t become as successful as Microsoft’s (MSFT) hit, the Xbox 360, which was released in November 2005. With more games and a comparable gaming experience, the 360 has had a tremendous head start on the PS3. Ultimately, one of the reasons why the Sony console has met a tremendous revenue downfall is the Xbox system. Once again, a season finale has delivered a touch of drama where I least expected it. I thought for sure Matt was the anointed winner, the Golden Child of Top Design. But near the end, there... I wondered if maybe Carisa's bold, energetic design might snake the win from Matt's classy, yet boring loft. I mean, honestly, this is where the magic happens in Matt-land. Woo hoo. I was close, but thoroughly wrong, about the final challenge. Instead of designing a space for each other, they're to design a space for themselves. The final test is how well they convert a gorgeous 1700-square-foot loft into a place they'd like to live, work, do whatever it is Matt might or might not do in that sterile bedroom, etc. Already, I have a pretty good idea how things will look. Their budget for this project? $162,000. The prize for winning Top Design? $100,000. Am I the only one who finds that a little... lopsided? The producer has been appointed president of Island Records Urban Music, a new division of the IDJ Music Group, it was announced Wednesday by Chairman Antonio "L.A." Reid. Under the deal, Dupri will oversee Island's entire urban music operation, as well as produce artists on the rosters of both IDJ and the entire Universal Music Group family of labels. Dupri will report directly to Reid, and Island Records President Steve Bartels on operational matters. Dupri is no stranger to the Island roster, having co-written and produced Mariah Carey's No. 1 hits "We Belong Together," "Shake It Off" and "Don't Forget About Us." He's also collaborated with IDJ artists Jay-Z, Ludacris, and Lionel Richie.

Diane Catanzaro, of Norfolk, Va., has been named the 2007 Beerdrinker of the Year in the 11th annual edition of the competition held at Wynkoop Brewing in Denver. Catanzaro, 48, is a homebrewer, beer judge and a professor of industrial/organizational psychology at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. She is the second woman to win the competition. Catanzaro was a finalist in last year's Beerdrinker contest and beat out Logan Perkins of Denver and Phil Farrell of Cumming, Ga., to take the crown this year.The finalists weathered two hours of difficult questions from the judges. The queries stretched from questions about beer chemistry, styles and history, to the finalists' abilities to sing old beer-advertising jingles and recall esoteric beer trivia. Catanzaro's 2006 beer resume included tasting beer at numerous breweries, bars and festivals in the U.S. and Belgium.
