CANUCKS 3 HAWKS 2That was close. What a great game to watch. Lots of high tempo skating, some quality chances, and every goal except for Ohlund's 1-0 goal went off a skate, knee, or stick.-The Canucks got into penalty trouble again, but the Hawks only went 1-for-7 on the powerplay.-How about that....Morrison and Pyatt get 2 points each. The song “White Christmas by” Bing Crosby is one of EZ-Tracks free music downloads in the Movies Soundtrack genre. This 8 line song that paints a picture of holiday nostalgia was written by Irving Berlin. It was originally about a New Yorker stranded in sunny California during Christmas. It is rumored that Shanahan will start at a lower base salary and load up on incentives in order to ease the Ranger's cap situation, having signed Drury and Gomez earlier. According to the great site, Hockey Analysis, the Rangers are sitting at $40.9 million before Shanahan's contract is added. But they still need to more room to sign Henrik Lundqvist and probably Sean Avery as well. Lundqvist could receive Cam Ward money through arbitration, which is about $2.5 - 3 million per season. Avery had 20 points in 29 games with the Rangers when he was acquired later in the season, and 5 points in 10 playoff games. He was making $1.1 million and could be seeking anywhere up to $1 million more. The Rangers are going to be close to the maximum. I posted about Sidney Crosby’s accomplishment as the youngest in pro sports to be a scoring leader. It’s not a big circus for the media! The fact that it is in the NHL. Truly greatness is measured in the playoffs and the media catches up when a player performed a spectacular game.  I am discouraged the way this writer of ESPN who gives almost all the credit to Gary Roberts who scored and assisted the winning goal to Crosby. He eluded the fact that Crosby has really the star qualities of a player. Crosby needs to prove himself the next game. He must bring the Pittsburg Penguins to the next level. If Crosby will lead his team to victory again, the media will not be mute to recognize a rising star in the National Hockey League.

The youngest to win a scoring title in all pro sports is Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburg Penguins at age 19. A 120-point season, six points ahead San Jose Sharks’ Joe Thornton as Crosby got his first Art Ross Trophy as the NHL scoring leader. We'd planned to go up to Rossall, Fleetwood sea fishing last weekend but the wind direction and strength played havoc with our plans so I arranged to meet a few friends at the venue known as Hall Road which is basically the sea front at Crosby, Liverpool.This venue can throw up some good fish but needs an onshore wind so with the wind blowing up to 20 miles per hour left to right (Southerly) our chances weren't good but we managed to find a space and launched our lugworm baited rigs into the night. We soon found that the Cod were not in and all either myself or Wendy could manage were a few tiny Whiting of about 6" long. We heard that a larger fish had been 'lost' while bringing it over the promenade railings but no-one we know saw it.So not a very good start to the winters Cod fishing but we're still waiting for a major drop in temperature.
