The Brazilian president has rejected criticism that his country's production of biofuels has forced a surge in global food prices and harms the environment. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva accused critics of being driven by economic and political interests, and failing to highlight soaring oil prices and increased demand as a factor in pushing up food production costs."Don't tell me, for the love of God, that food is expensive because of biodiesel," he told reporters."Food is expensive because the world wasn't prepared to see millions of Chinese, Indians, Africans, Brazilians and Latin Americans eat. We want to discuss this not with passion but rationality and not from the European point of view."Lula made his comments following a week of protests in Brazil and Europe against the fuels made from

Why I Ditched Dave Ramsey Interesting critical perspective from Ariah Fine on Dave. Extensive discussion in the comments section too (although I would only read the first criticism and Ariahs response, as some of the comments get to be either trite or flame oriented).

Billy Ray Cyrus released a statement yesterday saying that he and his wife had left the now infamous Miley Cyrus photo shoot prior to the topless shots taken of Miley and that he was “mortified” about the shots being taken. While I’m sure Billy has a busy life, his excuse kind of falls on deaf [...]
As was the case with previous games in the series, activist groups, police, politicians, and surviving victims of violence criticized Grand Theft Auto IV on Wednesday, a day after the game was launched nationwide. If it's in the game, it's in the game. The Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) protested the game today saying, "drunk driving is a choice, a violent crime... [it] is not a game, and it is not a joke."Grand Theft Auto IV gives players the option to drive drunk after consuming digital alcohol, but the game suggests taking a cab after drinking with in-game buddies.Nevertheless, MADD has called upon the Entertainment Software Ratings Board to reclassify Grand Theft Auto IV as an Adults Only game, effectively banning the game from sale in the U.S. since neither Sony nor Microsoft a

Walker Lewis may warrant a brief mention in a high-level summary. However, every section in this article needs to be condensed into high-level summaries. The bulk of the criticisms in this article need to be moved to their respective, related articles. I think that's the best way to give proper context to criticisms and rebuttals. BTW, Lewis is fleshed out in the [[Blacks and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints]] article. This article is, essentially, a [[Wikipedia:Content forking|POV fork]]. --[[User:TrustTruth|TrustTruth]] ([[User talk:TrustTruth|talk]]) 17:27, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Writing essays on criticism is not an easy task as those who are writing criticism essays have to develop a critical mind that should respond critically. In writing criticism essays, the writer should keep in mind that a criticism is not a negative judgement of writing. The writer of criticism essays should be neutral to [...]
The Baltimore Orioles last night defeated the Seattle Mariners, 3-2, in a razor tight game which saw a consistent and focused Daniel Cabrera not walk anyone in eight innings on impressive work. In the eighth inning, with the score tied 2-2, Nick Markakis hit a solo homer, his only hit, that made all the difference. Baltimore snapped their two game losing skid, and have played well within the last week, winning four out of six. Melvin Mora had two hits; one, a triple, and the other knocked the other Oriole run home. Meanwhile, George Sherrill came to save the game and is now a perfect 7 for 7 in save opportunities this season. Raul Ibanez finished 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mariners, who saw their two-game win streak come to an end. Jose Vidro brought the other Seattle run h

“Every C program is a valid C++ program”. This phrase has become very popular. Though in recent times with standardization of C++, this is not wholly true, the statement holds good for majority of the C++ language. Though C++ has managed to overcome many of the alleged defects of C, a novice can still use some features of C, while coding in C++ that can lead to disastrous results.

While some bloggers have a uncensored comments policy, some sites like ANR for example allow no comments at all, this means that they are only open to criticism on other people's sites. A recent example of this was a rather over the top piece by Myles Palmer which Arseblog has quite rightly criticised, in my opinion only of course.
When people cross a line by showing no respect with their
Boston Property - The price of title insurance, a mandatory surcharge on every Massachusetts mortgage loan, more than doubled over the last decade. The average borrower last year paid about $1,500 at closing.A chorus of critics, including state regulators and members of Congress, say the title insurance industry overcharges its customers. The industry says it offers a valuable service at a fair price, and it has opposed reforms with considerable success. But there is still an easy way to cut the cost of insurance in half.
This has been going around the blogosphere recently and it is a great article about the end of Robert Parker and the new age of wine criticism. The link is a PDF so give it a minute. It was written by Mike Steinberger and is from the great publication The World of Fine Wine.
This article criticizing McCain's handling of the Rockefeller affair seems fair. It's tough to counter such attacks without seeming self-righteous. The article isn't filled with the mocking invective one expects of the Nation.
Another article has cases of conservative bias in a textbook. That's a switch! The criticisms aren't serious, but they are valid.Powered by b2evolution.
Secured lender Firstplus, which has the television star Carol Vorderman advertising its loan products in glossy television advertisements, has been criticised over a loan offer that it has recently launched, which critics have described as a debt trap. Logan Hicks is a stencil artist with an obsession and love for the grit of urban landscapes. Hicks left college to start a screenprinting business, and after a move to San Diego left him without access to the equipment required to continue printing t-shirts for "lame" companies, he found a love for stencils. Now based in Los Angeles, he finds himself sustained by shows, commissions and what some may consider a fairly insane scheduling philosophy.
The world is very cruel. No matter how perfect you are, others will not let you break free. Human nature is unpredictable by all means. At one stage, you will be lauded for your deeds and at other times, you will be heavily criticized for whatever you do. Now the important thing here for us is to know to how to handle criticism. Criticism is something which one has to go through at least

Criticism from home and abroad of Dutch opposition lawmaker Geert Wilders' anti-Islam film grew Friday after Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende appeared on television to distance the government from the film.Balkenende spoke shortly after the film, Fitna - in which Wilders draws links between terrorist acts by Muslim extremists and the words of the Koran - was posted on the www.liveleak.com website Thursday evening. In the run-up to the film's release, Wilders had described the Koran as a "fascist book" that incites people to violence. The prime minister told reporters during a press conference that the Dutch government regretted the fact that Wilders had decided to release the film, even though the government had asked him to refrain from making it public. The European Union condemned the

Criticism, like cancer, grows rather naturally and is fully dependent on its host. It’s growth is predicated upon a relatively healthy host and a benign environment in which it can grow unimpeded.

The National Center for Public Policy Research has posted a "press release" which notes the chairman of the Project 21 leadership network is condemning President Bush's recent set of presidential pardons because it includes "drug smugglers, an embezzler and others" but not Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, who have been in prison since January of 2007. Mychal Massie says President Bush's "stolid refusal" to pardon Ramos and Compean is a "most unconscionable act of disloyalty." He also says Bush's inaction sends "a disturbing signal" to those who protect our borders and has a negative impact on "the morale of those serving overseas." Ramos and Compean pursued one Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila who abandoned a van containing a millions dollars worth of marijuana. While in

Everyone encounters criticism. Your ability to digest and make use of it says a lot about your character. Most people shy away from getting honest criticism. As a result, many do not realize that a criticism of our behaviors, results or efforts isn’t personal.
Here are some tips for surviving criticism without wrecking your ego:
Balance Yourself: Whenever you get a piece of criticism, recognize that it is just one tiny critique out of all feedback.
Get Them to Focus on Behavior: Try asking for feedback about specific behaviors, not you.
It’s Opinion, Not Fact: You always have the option to disagree with criticism.
Don’t Ask for Honesty When You Want Support: Don’t ask people for honest feedback if you just want validation.
Don’t Justify: You might feel the urge to explain or just

If you are one of those out there wondering when the saga over the Christmas Mountains in West Texas will ever end, (never?) here is yet another story on the ongoing ordeal. This time, Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is making headlines for–what else–getting criticized more about the deal:
Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson continues to block a proposal that could put the Christmas Mountains into the hands of the National Park Service, conservationists complained this week.
Patterson, who is chairman of the School Land Board, which has authority over the Christmas Mountains, has so far declined to bring up for board consideration a park service proposal to add the mountains to Big Bend National Park.
Patterson, who drew criticism for his recent attempts to sell t
Rapper Kanye West once suggested that the U.S. government dissed Hurricane Katrina victims because President Bush doesn’t like Black people. Now, the United Nations is looking into whether the United States actually violated a treaty on racism based on the way the government is treating survivors of the killer storm of 2006. On Friday, a U.N. panel – egged on by two advisers who have called the U.S. government’s decision to raze a swath of ramshackle low-income homes in New Orleans “discriminatory” – will determine whether the violation occurred. But critics say that such a conclusion is not justified, arguing that the advisers never even bothered to visit New Orleans, and that they ignored the fact that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developme

Hello Fans and Friends,Many of you may be dismayed by the reports that I drugged Britney Spears. To be honest, I was dismayed too. I was busy drugging Brad Garrett so he'd stay away from Britney's food, so I had no time to officially comment on the matter. But believe me, I'm outraged by the accusation, even though it's true, and I fully accept the criticism, even though I admit nothing. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with a little bit of drugging, not that I'd ever condone it, even though I think it's the right thing to do. Have you seen Britney when she's not on drugs? It ain't pretty. A doped up Britney is safer for all of us. Did I profit by her being all drugged out? Sure, but haven't we all profited from drugging someone and then taking advantage of him/her? Of course

A Catholiccritiques to Christopher Hitchen’s book “God is Not Great”
Many of the author’s reproaches against believers of all religions — the book treats Islam no better than Christianity, which shows considerable courage on the part of the author — are well founded, and must be taken seriously so that the same errors of the past are not repeated in the future. But Hitchens, in my view, makes a mountain out of every molehill. He claims to follow the Gospel principle of judging the tree by its fruits, but as for the tree of religion, he only considers the rotten fruits, never the good ones. The saints, the geniuses and benefactors given to humanity by the faith or nourished by it, count for nothing.
Using the same principles — I mean, by considering only the dark side of an institution — one could write a “black book” about any of the great human realities: the family; medicine (just think what it was used for at Auschwitz);

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor Mentri Besar's awarding of brooms to under-performing local councils and state agencies to remind them to buck up has drawn flak from many quarters. Many find his “broom bouquet” for poor performance in poor taste and crude. The “broom award” was even brought up in Parliament on Tuesday. The civil service umbrella union Cuepacs said it received calls from its members from other states complaining about the broom. Cuepacs president Omar Osman said members asked if there was indeed no other way for Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo to express his dissatisfaction. On Monday, at an excellence awards ceremony Dr Khir gave a broom each to the Hulu Selangor District Council and Hulu Selangor Land Office for failing to collect assessment for 2006 above the stipulated 50% mark. Dr Khir also warned agencies that failed to hit the target for 2007 to expect the same “present”. “We can understand the feelings of the civil servants attending the
I want all of you to pay attention to this because this proves blogging is a dangerous business. I know that when you build a blog or website online, people will come and visit it and express their opinions about it. They will tell you what should you consider improving, what should you take out or what should you add to that site or blog, to make it more appealing. This is nothing wrong in people saying this to you. Sometimes, you can even use of their ideas to come up with a better theme, less distracting material ( widgets, ads, banners etc ) or some fresh content. It's good to ask your visitors opinion about your website or blog, as they tell you what is good and what is not that good. You should accept this constructive criticism from your visitors and readers. They will immediately notice when you made a change and if this fit your website or not. There are people who really know what they're talking about, when giving you an advice or a constructive criticism. Usually, this kind of people have seen lots of blogs and websites before and know what will be good for you to use
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the number of credit and debt counseling agencies in America increased significantly. An antitrust lawsuit was filed against the NFCC, arguing that the presence of creditors on the NFCC’s Board of Directors constituted monopolistic practices. As a result of this litigation, creditors agreed to fund non-NFCC member agencies as well. These sharp increases of credit counseling activity also created other, more serious issues in the industry. By the early 1990s, abuses by certain credit counseling organizations were so significant, it led to criticism of the entire industry. A credit counseling agency typically receives most of its compensation from the creditors to whom the debt payments are distributed. This funding relationship has led many to believe that credit counseling agencies are merely a collections wing of the creditors. This fee income, known as “Fair Share,” are contributions from the creditors that originally earned the agency 15% of
Today's San Diego Union-Tribune continued its coverage of the poor federal response to the wildfires that have devastated much of the county. Customs delays to get a Canadian firefighting aircraft in, red tape in joining Marine corps forces with California firefighters, and delays in sending equipment, some of which wasn't sent until the worst of the fires were past.
Of course, now that the worst has passed, Bush is visiting San Diego for a well-planned dog and pony show. The lapdog media will no doubt do its part to make the administration appear in its best possible light.
The Resourceful Mind: Deciding Whether to Listen to CriticismA very good point is made in this post on criticism. Listening, or as I refer to it, receiving, criticism is a choice. Criticism is a negative and it is important to not allow negative words to be received. They have no power if they are not recieved.
The FIA has run into a certain amount of criticism as a result of the decision to look into Lewis Hamilton’s driving behind the Safety Car at Fuji. The Sun, Britain’s biggest-selling daily newspaper, thundered: “Formula 1 bosses? They’re not fit to run a quiet, country petrol station in Chipping Sodbury. Let alone the multi-billion pound business that is grand prix racing.” The newspaper went on to say that the season had been “tainted by enormous and unwanted controversy” and accused the more…

Et voila , as expected, the Iranian official media edited out the stories about the Ahmedinijad visit to Columbia University. President Bollinger's "harsh" questions were deleted and the Iranian President's quotes lionized. As I told Fox News and a number of radio shows, the Columbia fiasco will be mainly about weakening the resolve of the Iranian people, who would be made to believe that their leader was well-received by the largest democracy on earth, and that no one in the international community...(read more)

Through my work, I have come across various marketers whom are supposed to be extremely well versed with the trade. Yet, it baffles me that many professionals are committing classroom mistakes in our collaborations. These, often inspire me to read deeper into the engagement of customers in the entire marketing chain.

How do most companies react to negative feedbacks? Well, chances are the negatives are deleted if it can be read on a public platform. Or in any case it is not; feigning ignorance to any critics is almost expected.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is an extremely important cycle of business retention and referrals. In fact, most conventional businesses still see CRM as giving and not receiving. It sounds politically right, but one major oversight of any CRM effort is the failure to visualize “receiving as a form of giving back to customers”.
Embracing Criticism
Many businesses seemed to be caught up with this vicious belief that criticis
Not surprisingly the impressions of how the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was treated differ greatly depending on which media source you are reading. The New York Times story repeatedly states how the students chastised Columbia president Lee Bollinger for the way he addressed Ahmadinejad. They also portrayed Bollinger as trying to duck questions on the matter. To say the least it is difficult to imagine that both papers were covering the same event. The Washington Post on the other hand portrayed it quite differently. In their story, Bollingers comments were greeted with cheers and applause from students and faculty alike. Their story goes into detail sadly lacking in the New York Times piece as to Ahmadinejad assertions that women have incredible freedom in Iran and that homosexuality does not exist in his country. He also went on at length about how the Holocaust never happened. I was very pleasantly surprised by the treatment given Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Lee Bollingers stat

Indonesia will not resume full cooperation with the World Health Organisation on sharing of bird flu virus samples until a fair mechanism is in place, a health official said on Tuesday, but denied sending unusable specimens. David Heymann, WHO assistant director general for communicable diseases, said on Monday that Indonesia was now the only country that had not shared samples of the H5N1 virus that drug makers can use to develop vaccines. He said three specimens Jakarta sent in May to a WHO collaborating laboratory in Japan contained fragments, but no live virus. Triono Soendoro, head of the Indonesian health ministry's research and development centre, dismissed Heymann's remarks. "He doesn't understand about viruses. Just tell him to ask the virologists in Japan and let them explain to him," Soendoro said by telephone. Jakarta argues these companies use the specimens to develop vaccines poor countries like Indonesia cannot afford.Related: WHO: In
It's no secret that airline travel produces a whole lot of C02 emissions into our environment that does nothing good for our world. But like so many other machines that our world relies on there is only so much you can do without completely changing how things are done. Airline companies have begun to stand up for themselves against the always criticizing green squad politicians who have begun bullying them. Talks are to be held at an Air Travel conference to find ways to lower airlines affect on our climate. What this may mean for the traveler is increased online ticket prices to help pay for new ways to lower planes C02 emissions. Overall, the results of these talks will help slow the problem of global climate change which is a good thing.
It is not unusual when people make a comment on you or what you did. But how do you react to negative comments? Do you get really upset about it? I know I do get upset whenever I hear about criticism about me. I find that it is very normal and acceptable to feel such [...]
We here at BTL have made it our responsibility to call out sportswriters or broadcasters any time they say something stupid, or otherwise make some kind of egregious mistake. So, when guys like Phil Mushnik at the New York Post do likewise, we take it upon ourselves to also criticize their criticism. Following? Here's an excerpt from Mushnik's Monday column:Horrifying Sportcaster Cliche of the Week goes to Gary Cohen. Wednesday on SNY, Cohen said he could see how the Brewers' Manny Parra has enough good stuff "to have authored a perfect game in the minors" Yeesh. I don't really have a comment to make about this, except to say that it is completely mystifying. What is cliched about this statement? Saying that Parra threw a perfect game in the minors? He did throw a perfect game in the minors, so what's the problem here? Maybe it was Cohen's use of the verb "author" to describe how Parra threw the perfect game, but it's just a normal verb. I still don't see any cliche, let
A terrific article from Antoinette Konz in today's Courier-Journal:~Barbara Erwin's resignation just days before she was to take over as Kentucky education commissioner was the capstone to what critics say was a botched search that should have eliminated the controversial superintendent long before she was offered the job.The Iowa search firm hired by the Kentucky Board of Education to produce a list of candidates should have vetted Erwin more closely and targeted problems more quickly, the critics argue. And they say board members failed to do their job, ignoring concerns raised by the media and the public over Erwin's resume, which contained an award she hadn't won and a presentation she never made, and her reputation for running roughshod over teachers and administrators when she was a superintendent in Texas, Arizona and Illinois."There is no shortage of places where it went wrong," said Bob Sexton, executive director of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence. "The board
Here’s a challenge to those of you who are against Objectivism as a philosophy. My girlfriend started a challenge on YouTube for users to refute Objectivism, in a video response format. Go ahead! Here’s your chance…
Comrade Chavez is taking the next step in putting his communist dictatorship firmly in place. From now on, foreigners are forbidden from criticizing either him or his government (which is basically the same thing):
"No foreigner can come here to attack us. Anyone who does must be removed from this country," he said during his weekly TV and radio programme.
Mr Chavez also ordered officials to monitor statements made by international figures in Venezuela.
His comments came shortly after a senior Mexican politician publicly criticised the Venezuelan government.
"How long are we going to allow a person - from any country in the world - to come to our own house to say there's a dictatorship here, that the president is a tyrant, and nobody does anything about it?" Mr Chavez said during his "Hello, President" broadcast on Sunday.
"It cannot be allowed - it is a question of national dignity," he said.
If Venezuela is to have any "national dignity," the first thing they need to do is to thro
A dog is a dog. A cat will always be a cat no matter which country it is. A dog in Singapore won’t be any much different from another dog in United States. All dogs love to be pampered and taken care of. All dogs have the same behavioural patterns. That goes for human. Whether you are at the North Pole or South Pole. We are of the same species, Homo Sapiens. Can’t we be like the ants? We should learn from the ants. Though they are small, and to people who cannot see the ’small’ things in life, you should read more about ants.
Criticism hurts and it can deeply lower a person’s self-esteem. The purpose of this blog is all my personal experience and my life. It is not a source for ridicule, mockery and scorns. I am sharing my life, my journey and my experience. I am sure there are many similar people out there who wants to seek comfort and answers at time in their life. We always find it more comforting when there are people who are ’

(BRUSSELS, Belgium)—Europe’s major consumer group BEUC said Wednesday that it feared Internet search engine Google Inc.’s takeover of online ad tracker DoubleClick Inc. would damage European Union privacy rights and limit consumers’ choice of Web content.
Their plea to EU regulators comes after U.S. consumer privacy advocacy groups asked the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to look at how the two companies, when combined, would have access to an unprecedented amount of data on consumers’ Web usage and Internet search habits.
Cornelia Kutterer, BEUC’s senior legal adviser, said the association had asked the European Commission and other European authorities to look into privacy concerns — even though the two companies have not yet requested EU approval for the US$3.1 billion (euro2.29 billion) deal. “They have so far complementary databases with private data. If they merge them, this could lead to unmatched databases of profiles,” Kutterer t
Christie Todd Whitman, former chief of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), testified in response to critics' statements that the EPA misled the public about the levels of asbestos and other toxic substances at the World Trade Center site in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Asbestos can cause mesothelioma and other diseases. Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York released a study in 2006 reporting that 70 percent of rescue workers at Ground Zero suffer respiratory ailments. In a hearing before the U.S. House Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Subcommittee, Whitman defended statements and press releases issued days after the attacks stating that asbestos levels are "unlikely to cause significant health effects" and "cause us no concern" She also defended her decision not to fight the White House for removing a recommendation from an EPA press release that professionals be hired to clean buildings in the area before they were re-occupied.Members of the
According to the Associated Press via The Salt Lake Tribune, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is troubled by campaign attacks on his Mormon faith. He says that such criticism by his rival candidates is happening too frequently. Don't you feel sorry for the guy? I mean, just because he believes all sorts of absurd things doesn't mean we should criticize them, does it?Whether we like it or not, the American people have decided that religion is relevant in the 2008 elections. The consequence of this is that each candidate will face at least some questions about the nature of his or her superstitions. The problem is, they won't face the right sort of questions.I'd like to ask Mitt Romney how he can possibly believe a number of things (e.g., the three migrations) shown to be false by converging lines of scientific evidence. I'd like to know why he thinks that someone who holds demonstrably false beliefs should be allowed to hold any public office, much less the highest off
I like criticism. But I don't like criticism that's not the good criticism (constructive criticism).I mentioned this yesterday, I get some criticising comment, and I don't really mind criticising comments, but some of them are just pointless.I'll accept criticism if it's the good kind, but not if it's pointless and stupid - there's not even any point in it so why even give it?And I know this is a bit of a rant (I am sorry) but it's just all to emphasise the point that IF YOU'RE HERE TO GIVE NON-CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, DON'T BE HERE.If you've got something personal to say to me, please email me, don't comment here - it's not the place for it.My blog is just a place where I write stuff that seems at least a bit interesting. It's truly just for a laugh - don't take it too seriously.Lighten up y'all. And comment nice.If you don't know and you wanna learn how to comment, click here! It's easy!
Michael Moore's attorney said Monday that the filmmaker's criticism of the Bush administration may have prompted a federal investigation into his trip to Cuba for the upcoming health-care documentary, "Sicko."In a letter to the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, attorney David Boies noted that Moore has been a critic of President Bush in his books and films, which include 2004's "Fahrenheit 9/11," a harsh indictment of White House actions regarding the Sept. 11 attacks."For this reason, I am concerned that Mr. Moore has been selected for discriminatory treatment by your office," Boies wrote in response to a letter sent to Moore last month from Dale Thompson, OFAC chief of general investigations and field operations. The OFAC letter notified Moore that he was under investigation for possible violations of the U.S. trade embargo restricting travel to Cuba.A copy of Boies' letter was obtained by The Associated Press in advance of an afternoon news conference
Another incident to show how the Democrats are all about image rather than reality. So Obama normally drives a Chrysler 300 (VERY nice cars by the way) but he sold it and is now driving a Ford Escape Hybrid? How green of him. Errr I mean how hypocritical of him. ~RJH Fox News story link Bill Ford Jr. Miffed by Barack Obama's Criticism of Auto IndustryDETROIT One of America's top automakers' chiefs took aim Thursday at presidential candidate Barack Obama for remarks the Democrat made earlier this spring about lagging behind foreign competitors on fuel-efficient cars."I would love to invite [Obama] to our Chicago assembly plant in his state and see where we make a vehicle that's more efficient than the one he's currently driving," Ford Motor Co. Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. said Thursday to a round of applause, according to The Detroit News.Speaking before the Detroit business leaders conference Thursday, Ford also said he was "very disappointed" with t
Former Prime Minister becomes PR consultant, thats a issue which been discussed a lot among Swedish.
As premierminister Göran Persson was very negative towards PR-consultants. Now he himself willl be one and gets criticism from several quarters. As here, from one blogger from the sphere of the trade unions.
In August Göran Persson starts his new job as PR-consultant at PR- and communication company JKL.
By the way, the salary is secret. CEO of the company describes his new colleague as a dreamrecruitment. Göran Persson himself says it is much to early for him to retiere and only take care of his farm and his cows.
Of course he is not the first politician who goes commercial after retirement from politics. But, as premierminister Persson had no higher thougths about PR-consultants and lobbyists. As late as in his farewell speech at the socialdemocratic extra ordinary partycongress in March he said:- The lobbyists work for the past. The solutions for the future have n
Read about it here. Human rights groups didn’t like the fact that Mitt Romney said he would double the size of Guantanamo bay while fighting terrorism. They also didn’t like the fact that Rudy Giuliani would condone using extreme interrogating techniques if it was learned an attack was imminent. Can you picture that? Someone is about to set off a bomb or some other terrorist activity that will possibly kill hundreds of Americans on American soil, and we are supposed to be concerned with their human rights. They don’t seem to be concerned with ours, do they?
“It suggests that these guys would ignore American traditions and laws and continue policies that have severely damaged America’s moral authority,” said Tom Malinowski, Washington-based director of Human Rights Watch.
Curt Goering, deputy executive director of Amnesty International USA, said: “The pandering for votes by advocating human rights violations represents the worst by American pol
With scandal rattling the $85 billion student loan industry, Education Secretary Margaret Spellings argued at a House hearing on Thursday that she lacked legal authority to clamp down on many abuses.Ms. Spellings faced pointed questioning at the hearing from Congressional Democrats, who accused her department of mismanagement and complacency. In about three hours of testimony before the House education committee, Ms. Spellings portrayed her department’s oversight of federal lending programs as vigorous, but said that the world of private lending, which has become increasingly important as college costs have outstripped federal loan programs, was mostly beyond her regulatory authority. She told the panel that the entire student loan system needed overhaul, saying, “The system is redundant, it’s byzantine and it’s broken.” Several Democrats, led by Representative George Miller, questioned her aggressively, asserting that she had regulatory power and moral influence that she had
I’ll be honest the worst thing about this week was seeing the footage at the end of the Chelski match with Cashley larging it up as if he’s just won the World Cup. I want United to beat them in everything just so Cashley doesn’t win anything, i truly despise the little c**t and hope he gets some sort of rectal injury between now and the end of the season. Mind you he better be fit for the Emirates game if theres one man who will get that stadium jumping for 90 minutes its him. Might be the best contribution he ever makes to the club!
Anyway the point of the article is not to talk about lamentable little cockfaces but to bring to peoples attention an unsung hero of the current line up. I know everyone has problems with many of the players we are currently enjoying(lumbered with) however in amongst all the justifiable criticism some players are getting tarred with the same brush when in reality they’ve been top notch.
And no one more so than nobfaces replacement
Education Week reports:Reading First, the $1 billion-a-year federal reading program, is under new criticism: The government contractor that set up the program for the U.S. Department of Education is also part of the team hired to evaluate it.RMC Research Corp. was the contractor hired to provide technical assistance to federal and state officials on the implementation of the program starting in 2002, under three contracts worth about $40 million. Recently, the Education Department’s inspector general reported that RMC failed to keep the program free of conflicts of interest. ("‘Reading First’ Contractor Neglected Bias Rules," March 14, 2007.)
It appears that Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Syria and the gaffs that ensued with Israel are so egregious that even the liberal newspapers have to report it. They tried to hold out and report this trip as a step toward middle east peace. They were hoping that she would be able to embarrass the president and show that appeasement is the way to treat terrorists such as the leader of Syria.
Unfortunately Nancy Pelosi lied to Syria about peace talks with Israel, angering one of our biggest allies. And she actually committed a felony by traveling to Syria and conducting foreign policy against the will of the president.
All this has led to liberal papers having to come out and denounce Nancy Pelosi, you know it had to be hard on them.
Maybe these liberals aren’t as smart as they think they are.
keith hit the nail on the head in pointing out the delicious hypocrisy of limbaugh accusing almost anyone of racism during his 'worst person in the world' segment last night:And the winner: Comedian Rush Limbaugh. Claiming criticism of Attorney General Gonzales... is racism."So you have the first Hispanic-American attorney general -- a minority -- under fire by white liberal racists in the Senate."Like Senator Salazar? Senator Salazar is racist against Hispanics? This froma guy who insisted Liberals were exaggerating DonovanMcNabb's skills because they wanted to see a black quarterback succeed... This from a guy who has happily called Barack Obama a quote "Halfrican-American."Comedian Rush Limbaugh: Today's Worst Person In The World.
Women who dare to wear a kippah (skullcap) are rare. For those who do it is a powerful symbol of their yearning for G-d and Torah and their willingness to challenge thetraditional male female dichotomy, which finds its clearest expression in the different roles that are proscribed for men and women. I know someone who wears one all the time and I dedicate this post to them... Shalom my friend.A woman tells of her yearning for a Kippah"I proudly wore my kippah daily for about two weeks. Friends applauded me for my commitment to Judaism and willingness to display it with this circular fabric. But the questions and comments abounded from both women and men, Jews and non-Jews alike. "What gives you the right?" "But women don't have to obey these laws. Why do you want to take on more than you have to? "You shouldn't wear a kippah unless you're willing to take on all the traditions from wearing Tzitzit and donning tefillin."I couldn't handle the pressure. It was easier to just pack the k
