If someone proposed implanting a small microchip into those convicted of violent crimes such as rape, murder and assault as a condition of their release, what’s the first answer that comes to your mind? I’ve discovered it’s one of two that most people immediately consider; a quick and absolute yes or a disgusted no. I [...]

Looks like the financial crisis is taking the much anticipated criminal turn with the FBI starting to seriously probe allegations of fraud by a number of Wall Street firms whose recent collapses sent markets into turmoil. The ones that received the most media coverage - Lehman Brothers, mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and insurer AIG - are big targets in the FBI's wide-reaching inquiry.
The inventor of a revolutionary new forensic fingerprinting technique has claimed that criminals who eat processed foods are more likely to be discovered by police, because their fingerprint sweat corrodes metal.
Sweaty fingerprint marks made more of a corrosive impression on metal if they had a high salt content. Processed foods tend to be high in salt, and your body excretes some of the excess s

Okay, so, imagine you're some big and mighty political leader or maybe a military officer. Then let's say you want to commit some crimes against humanity, try your hand at genocide, pretend the Geneva Convention doesn't exist, or anything else that comes to your warped little mind. You're pretty brave and stuff, because you think nobody can touch you. What's a person to do when he's left to his ow
The last week has been dominated by knife crime, violence and death. I'm talking about national news and yet it dawned on me over the weekend that Crewe has had its fair share of high-profile crime stories of late. Just last month Adam Swellings from Meredith Street made the papers when he was sentenced for his part in the killing of Gary Newlove from Warrington. Then on Friday, 19-year-old Lauren
Dozens of nations dominated by Islam are pressing the United Nations to adopt an anti-”defamation” plan that would make Christians criminals under international law, according to a United States organization that has launched a campaign to defend freedom of religion worldwide.

Why is it that on these shows these 'crims' always run away from police helicopters into an open field or woodland areas when jumping out of stolen cars or attempt to hide under trees or in ditches? The answer is they are thick. It's idiotic. The helicopter chasing them has infra red detectors that pick up heat signatures. You'd think by now after the amount of series this program has had, they wo

Booze and really sloppy crime seem to go hand-in-hand. We’ve documented this heavily in “The Man Who Scared a Shark to Death (and other true tales of drunken debauchery”, particularly in the section “Crime Doesn’t Pay Your Bar Tab”, and we’re presented with constant reminders of the truth of it on a regular basis. In order for me to be a Junior Church helper, I've had to undergo the "robust" checking of the Criminal Records Bureau. Thankfully they did not get me mixed up with somebody else with a similar name who has a string of convictions. On BBC's Watchdog there were a number of people that were not so lucky.I am now the proud owner of an Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate. It all sounds so Orwellian, but then that's par for the course in New Labour Britain. Anybody coming into the country for the first time and being shown such a document would think that we are all potential crooks and miscreants. I've passed OK on all five categories. The first category is the "Police Records of Convictions, Cautions, Reprimands and Final Warnings". It is all a bit reminiscent of school. "This is your final
Primary school children should be put on the national DNA database if their behaviour suggests they will become criminals, a senior Scotland Yard expert said yesterday. Gary Pugh, the director of forensic science and the new DNA spokesman for the Association of Chief Police Officers, called for a debate on the measures required to identify future offenders. He said: "If we have a primary means of identifying people before they offend, then in the long term the benefits of targeting younger people are extremely large. "We have to find who are possibly going to be the biggest threat to society." But critics said this was a step towards a police state that would risk stigmatising youngsters who had yet to commit a criminal act. The details of more than 4.5 million people, inc

When it comes to cyber crimes, a new research has found that hi-tech criminals are now turning away from targeting big firms, and are focussing their attention on home computer users.Security firm Symantec found that cyber criminals are increasingly targeting home PC owners as a lack of security systems mean that they are the easiest prey in the market.Symantec found that there had been an 81 percent rise in bogus email messages that are attempting to con unsuspecting owners into revealing personal as well as banking details. In its bi-annual Internet Threat Report, Symantec revealed that more than 157,000 unique "phishing' messages were sent to home PCs during the first six months of 2006.Ollie Whitehouse, Symantec research scientist and one of the authors of the report, said that the trend showed that home users had become targets as they were the weakest link."Organised crime is here and they are very interested in phishing. They target home users who have become the weakest link

FBI committed to stop the cyber criminals, the 'Bot Roast' operation is meant to stop the cyber criminals and, especially, the botnet owners, who attempt to controlnumerous computers from all over the world and launch web attacks. According to the FBI officials, since June when the campaign has started, no less than 8 individuals have been identified and some of them have even been sent to prison after they pleaded guilty. As far I can see, many of the individuals identified by the FBI were pretty young, as 3 of them were 21 years old."Today, botnets are the weapon of choice of cyber criminals. They seek to conceal their criminal activities by using third party computers as vehicles for their crimes. In Bot Roast II, we see the diverse and complex nature of crimes that are being committed through the use of botnets. Despite this enormous challenge, we will continue to be aggressive in finding those responsible for attempting to exploit unknowing Internet users," FBI Director, Robert

The IB, CBI and Delhi Police are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The PM decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch. The IB goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist. The CBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming. The Delhi Police goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!

By: John SavageIn 1999, a man decided to purchase a Social Security number using an illegal online source. He used that number to find the address and personal information of a young woman with whom he was obsessed. His criminal activity gave him the information he needed to find her, and he did. She was murdered as a result.Every day, millions of people receive perfectly legitimate-looking emails from what appears to be their personal bank or other familiar service. They respond with the information requested only to later find bank accounts emptied by identity thieves.Every day, thousands of people are rejected for car loans, home loans and even certain jobs without really understanding why. If they did a bit of homework, they might learn of several unpaid credit accounts in their name that were established by an identity thief without their awareness. How did it happen? It might have been that credit card purchase they attempted online a few years ago that never seemed to be properl

“We cannot build enough prisons to solve this problem. And the idea that we can keep incarcerating and keep incarcerating — pretty soon we’re not going to have a young African-American male population in America. They’re all going to be in prison or dead. One of the two.”
That was John Edwards’ answer to a question about inner-city kids and violence. He is saying that all black Americans are criminals, at least that is the way I interpret it. Can you imagine if Romney or Rudy said this?
I am not going to spend any more of my time on this because Edwards isn’t a viable candidate anyway, but I just wanted to show everyone what a racist John Edwards really is.

In a study reported in a recent issue of Violence and Victims (Volume 22, issue 3), a sample of 1,526 young men (14 to 24 years) in the German prison system were assessed. The sample participants were questioned about their history of early victimization and offense history and given standardized testing during their prison term. The results show that experience of abuse as a child doubles the risk for violent victimization in adolescence. Offenders who were repeatedly victimized as adolescents were also found to be at increased risk for later violent offending. This link was found both for officially registered violence and self-reported violent behavior. Experience of child abuse was found to increase the likelihood of self-reported violence as well. One interesting result was the presence of an interaction effect involving victimization in childhood and victimization in early adolescence. Sample participants who reported having been repeatedly victimized th

I remember hearing a story of a foreigner in Cambodia who was quite down and critical of the country. While his friends when out for “Happy” Pizza, he was robbed at gun point of his money and passport.
Frantically, he went to the police station to make a report. The police were asleep in the cells, but did reluctantly put on their pants to make a report. The catch was they demanded $50 payment to begin the investigation. After handing over the bill, the police offered to drive him to his hotel, but not before pulling into a gas station and forcing the foreigner to fill up the tank.
The next morning a group of officers showed up at the hotel demanding another $100 to continue searching for the “unknown&
The House today passed a law for better control to keep criminals from buying guns:WASHINGTON (AP) - The House Wednesday passed what could become the first major federal gun control law in over a decade, spurred by the Virginia Tech campus killings and buttressed by National Rifle Association help. The bill, which was passed on a voice vote, would improve state reporting to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System to stop gun purchases by people, including criminals and those adjudicated as mentally ill, who are prohibited from possessing firearms.Seung-Hui Cho, who in April killed 32 students and faculty at Virginia Tech before taking his own life, had been ordered to undergo outpatient mental health treatment and should have been barred from buying two guns he used in the rampage. But the state of Virginia had never forwarded this information to the national background check system. It's certainly time already to start keeping a proper eye on dangerous characters and to e
