Moses baskets and cribs
At the beginning, think about a moses basket or crib, as they take up less space in your room and tiny babies feel more secure in them than a cot which will feel huge. The official advice is that it is safest for your baby to sleep in your room for the [...]
First of all, has anyone out there read The No Cry Sleep Solution by Dr. Sears? Benjamin is reaching the “sleeping sideways” stage and we are anxious to get him in his crib. I am very interested in what that book has to say, but if you could… summarize… it for me, that would save [...]

Some Very Unique Round Baby Cribs

So for this article, I´ve decided to feature some of the [...]
There´s something unique, almost romantic about round cribs. It´s like having a fairy tale nursery furniture, don´t you think? One that you see a lot in old movies with mothers in Victorian dresses as they watch over their tiny tot.
If I ever have another baby (which right now, after the oh-so traumatic caesarian operation seems [...]

Alexandra PalaceFriday 14th DecemberIf a band is trying to gage how far they have progressed, playing Alexandra Palace is the acid test. "Let's pretend for a moment that this is a sweaty little club instead of a huge exhibition centre," pleads Kele Okereke. When you are facing a hall more suited for a political conference than a gig, this isn't an easy task. Bloc Party manage it with a jerky medley of understated style and in-your-face bravado. The Cribs find the transition less comfortable. Chaotic kings of sticky-floored settings nationwide, in front of a larger audience they sound flat. "Our Bovine Public' is a disastrous opener marred by the venue's notoriously troublesome acoustics and poor timing. Things improve with "Hey Scenesters', the Jarman brothers mastering the mix between enthusiastic thrashing and maintaining rhythm.Three albums in, the band have an array of songs to choose from, but pluck mostly from latest record Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whateve
Every year, during the weeks preceding Christmas, the Friends of the Crib hold an exhibition of works by their members. About one hundred cribs of various shapes and sizes made from different media like papier mache, cork etc, are put together to offer visitors, locals and tourists alike, the true story of Christmas, the birth of Baby Jesus. This exhibition is just a street away from Maison La Vallette ( St Francis Hall, Melita Street Valletta.) It is open from 0900am - 1230pm and from 0400pm - 0700pm admission is free.

Wakefield's finest, The Cribs, return with an anti-establishment tirade in the form of 'Don't You Wanna Be Relevant', their latest single.
The Cribs are, without wanting to sound cliched, the embodiment of the true spirit of rock and roll - making music, regardless of who the messages they convey in their songs are aimed at. The barrage of guitar chords and bass and drums are the essential ingredients that help the trio put across their ideas; and my don't they do it well.
The well worked interplay of guitar and bass provides an angry backdrop for the vitriolic vocals which swerve all over the place melodically. The combination of slagging off every other band in the music industry for being sell outs in a song which is particularly un-mainstream, works brilliantly.
The Cribs are the bastiens of a proper music work ethic - do it because you love it, not because you want to be on the cover of every tabloid day in day out - long live The Cribs!
There have been 85 reports about this Crib being unsafe, including one report that an 18 month old child hand became trapped between the railings.
The hazard is that the bolts which connect the top corners can become loose, which will create a gap, this is very serious and it could cause strangulation or trap the child.

What do the names Solare and Cielo have in common? Well, they are the newly launched cribs adhering towards greenguard environment standards as launched by Q Collections. Typically designed to adhere towards the set environmental standards we take caution with today, aiming for the health and welfare of the kids today is indeed something consumers will want to check out.
With a green world in the making, it is only normal to see furniture and bedding getting in the driver’s seat and making their turn to shine. Babies and infants are totally clueless of quality but that is left to the knowledge of their parents and guardians who look for good sources of green standard living for their child today.
Q Collection’s newly-launched Q Collection Junior cribs, Solare, and Cielo, are the first and only cribs to be named Greenguard certified for indoor air quality. The furniture, fabric, and accessories manufacturer, which designs with the environment and human health in mind, achieved

Nearly 1 million cribs on recall listSimplicity Inc. is recalling nearly one million cribs, including some that may have been recalled previously, after reports of three infant deaths. The drop-side can detach from the crib, which can create a dangerous gap and lead to the entrapment and suffocation of infants. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said it is aware of two deaths in Simplicity manufactured cribs with older style hardware, including a 9-month-old child and a 6-month-old child, where the drop-side was installed upside down.CPSC is also investigating the death of a 1-year-old child in a Simplicity crib with newer style hardware, in which the drop-side was installed upside down. CPSC is also aware of seven infant entrapments and 55 incidents in these cribs.Link to complete story: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls04/2007/simplicity_cribs2.html~Sandy G.
A series of cribs were recalled recently. Many news sources have been reporting that the cribs were defective in some way. According to the CPSC report, they were not. Consumer Affairs has a decent summary and you can read the full announcement at CPSC.gov. There is also a video (the video is a little weird - they have a little intro and then images of the crib with an incorrect installation and how the babies could get caught, then about 2 minutes of a video of a baby sitting in a completely different crib for no apparent reason while a mom operates the drop-down door). In short, these cribs failed because of improper assembly. The CPSC has been exemplary in its efforts to inform consumers of the issue. However I disagree with their public statement."A crib is one of the few products that's actually designed for a parent to leave a child unattended. When there's a problem of this magnitude with a crib, there's a huge breach of trust with the manufacturer," she said.Yet the cause of

Celery Furniture produce a great line of furniture from cribs to cradles and toys to rocking horses, but with a difference they use Bamboo and Formaldehyde free MDF, and something that would make all of the difference is the fact that they do not use any screws or fixings, the wood work is put together by using the traditional methods of mortise and tenon joints.

According to a recent report led by Dr. Jim Cairns, babies are dying because their cribs are over-crowded. The study points out that twenty-one children died from unsafe sleeping environments in 2005, a rise from the 16 in 2004. Dr. Cairns advices parents to forgo bumper pads, toys, blankets, etc and just recommend a small baby blanket.

Having babies around required big responsibilities and to see them running around out of their cribs may have risky things if people will really give them some thought. For one, the delicate nature of their stage of infancy needs all the proper attention including that of the places where they may sleep.
A baby has no idea of the sleeping position that he or she may find himself or herself in once sleepy spells come in. Babies may lay flat on their back or on their face. The latter is much more riskier since it blocks the airways of breathing for most of us, leading to possible suffocation if left in that position for long.
Thus, many would not give it much thought, but suffocation is a reality. We all just have to be aware that babies require out attention. And this includes the proper sleeping positions whether they are on beds, sofas or their cribs.

The Cribs are back with a new single, the first from forthcoming album ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’. This first single called ‘Men’s Needs’ carries on from where ‘Mirror Kissers’, and ‘Martell’ left off, with a very similar sound from the Leeds based band.
The video from YouTube features some nudity, except actually it doesn’t as it’s all been blacked out. It does contain a bit of comedy blood and guts though so watch it now…
The first thing I noticed from the video was the fact the guys haven’t smartened up at all, with their grungy, almost dirty look carrying on in to this third album. They’ve never been ones to worry about looks, with meaning and content much more important. The video still looks cheap, even with the amateur special effects, but I enjoyed watching it, and it gave me a few laughs. It’s a bizarre but strangely fitting video for this song, I just which it
First of all...I forgot to bring a camera to the show. I know, I know, I'm an idiot. I didn't want to lug my DSLR around all night, and my friend forgot to bring his small camera, so all I have are some really, really terrible shots taken from a third friend's camera phone.Sorry.This is Gary Jarman doing a little singing. He and his twin brother Ryan are pretty much co-lead vocals. This is Ryan rocking out, near the beginning of the show. Notice the jacket. This is closer to the middle, after he flung his jacket off. Soon after this, he leaned into the crowd and had his shirt near ripped off by a crazy mosher. The original openers, whose name escapes me at the moment, couldn't make it. Instead, they called in some local Toronto talent, Drunkula. If you think their name is cheesy, you should have heard their set. It was loud, cliche, and, thankfully, short. I normally don't like to say anything negative about bands, but these guys were kinda out of place. Definitely not the right band
Ok after deciding that I don’t think my bedroom will ever fully be completely decorated I’m going to share it with you all. And yes today I finally broke what I wrote in a previous post regarding no electronics in the bedroom and purchased a stereo for it. I decided that I NEED music in my room for many reasons (which I care to keep personal, haha). I purchased one that was a little bigger then I would of liked to have but it had the best sound. I’m really picky about my music and the the way it sounds. One of my favorite things about it besides that it plays MP3 disc is that it has a USB port on the front to hook up Ipods, and other storage devices. Specially since you can load up a media card alot quicker then burning a disc.
