So my girlfriend and I finally tied the knot with a small ceremony in Pune last week and flew straight to Jaipur for our honeymoon. My wife wanted to live in a small place with lots of character so anything with the name Taj, Oberoi or Sheraton was out. We found this small hotel, Hotel Palms that must’ve been someone’s residence at one point. It was one of those hotels where the owners lost in
Did you know that the Crape Myrtle (lagerstoemia indica) was the official shrub of Texas? Did you know that Texas is represented by more official plants than any other state? Did you know that the crepe myrtle could have been the state tree and the state flower except it isn’t a native Texan? It originally [...]

This is a fried crepe. Yesterday afternoon, I was in the market to buy foods for weekly consumption. I noticed an old man selling the fried crepe. I bought 7 pieces for 20 pesos only.It has a melted sugar on top and was so yummy and crispy. Upon reaching home, Noel and Mica too love to eat this food. I really miss this because way back in our province, I used to buy it in the sidewalk with a drink of coca cola. The last time I have this one when my sister in law treat us in a fine restaurant and she told me that this is her favorite. I was then wondering if what was the fried crepe all about , because I have known it in another name. When her order came I just smiled because I have met it already. hahaha. It was presented by having an ice cream on top, slice green gelatin at the side o

What do you do when you are hungry at night? We eat! This was our late night supper yesterday. Sinful! No wonder my tummy is getting rounder. All the fats have gone there.Ingredients:60g Top Flour, shifted20g Powder Sugar120g Milk1 Egg10g Butter, melted1 Banana or any other fruits, sliced1 scoop Ice CreamHow to do it:Whisk all ingredients except banana and ice cream till well mixed.Oil the frying pan with little butter.Pour some mixture to the pan and swirl it to cover the whole pan.Cook for about 1 minute then turn over to cook for another 1/2 minute.Remove.Add banana and ice cream.Serve with or without sauce.Note:My crepe is dark brown because I used chocolate milk instead of regular milk.Make sure you don't put too much mixture otherwise your crepe will be too thick.
Relieved myself off the extra energy by making some crepes. The other day, during my afternoon trip to Petaling Street, I managed to grab a packet of all-purpose flour and a 500g pack of granulated sugar. From 7Eleven. Ok, laugh la. But really, I wanted to stock up on raw supplies so that I can cook some stuff, and at that moment, 7Eleven was the only store in sight that sells groceries. But I warn you - never go there purposefully to buy groceries. It'll kill you and your money. You'll end up beating yourself after you see the very same item with only half the price on Carrefour's shelf. :POk then, my self-invented Crepe recipe :5 mounted tablespoonfuls of all-purpose flour (plain flour la)1 tablespoon of butter at room temperature (don't put too much, just about 1 tbspn is enough)1 egg1 cup of milkEnough for roughly 4 pieces of fairly large crepe.Dump everything into a mixing bowl and whisk with all your might. Use either an egg-whisk, or a plain old fork (like I did). But kesian
Crepe is a very thin pancake. Its origin is in France, its French name is crêpe, and, by the way, it is feminine. The crepe is la crêpe. It can be sweet or salty, even though in my mind only dessert crepes exist. My First Batch of CrepesFor my first and only attempt on crepe making so far, I searched the internet for a simple recipe. The Food Network’s "Sweet Crepes" recipe by David Lieberman has easy and clear instructions. But I only followed it loosely because I did not have whole milk and vanilla extracts. Here is what I did.Ingredients:¾ cup of flour1 teaspoon of salt1 cup of skim milk2 eggs2 tablespoon of sugar1 tablespoon of melted butterDirection:1. Put flour and salt into a bowl.2. Whisk the mixture.3. Add milk, eggs, sugar and melted butter one at a time while whisking.4. Cover the batter and put it in a refrigerator for one hour.5. Take the batter out of the refrigerator.6. Prepare a flat frying pan by heating a small amount of butter so the oil will cover the pan
