Over at colourlovers.com, they have put together a listing of all 120 Crayola crayon's HEX and RGB colors. They also have a lot of fun facts and some nice little color palettes using the crayon colors. 3 weeks ago, I blogged about Crayon Physics Deluxe, a cool physics puzzle game which is not yet released. But over the weekend I found a Crayon Physics clone!!! It is called Magic Pen, the game play is exactly the same as Crayon Physics. Maybe both games are from the same developer. If not, who is the copycat?I figure that this game shouldn't be too hard to clone using Silverlight 2.0 + Farseer Physics Engine, but I am lazy to try....

Crayon Physics Deluxe is a cool 2D interactive game, and winner of the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the 2008 Independent Games Festival. Built on a Box2D Physics Engine, the game requires you to draw simple geometric shapes to solve its puzzles. The objects thus drawn,  follow the basic laws of physics and shape the course of the game. The game is a sequel to the original Crayon Physics game, which is available as a free download at the creator’s site.  Though the original game is,  according to the game maker, "a quick and ugly prototype," I really had a ton of fun playing it. I saw this, thought it was cute and decided to give it a try. I made these little hearts out of wax paper, crayons, an iron and fishing line.o Talk about easy! I didn't own any crayons or wax paper, so, I had to get those, and wha-la, wax paper hearts in shades of pink! It only took two pieces of wax paper, crayon shavings in between, a cool iron and then cutting the heart shapes freehand.I punched an itty bitty hole in the top and bottom of each heart, threaded the fishing line and tied them to the curtain rod in the window. They look really cute and who knows, I might end up moving them.o I can see doing this for other holidays too, perhaps Halloween and Day of the Dead!

My 3 year old is now a budding artist, thanks to Blues Clues. The walls, hardwood floor, coffee table, my $800 kitchen table. Nothing is safe from him and his crayons. Fortunately, I discovered how to remove crayon from wood furniture: Orange Glo wood cleaner. Spray it on and let it set a minute or two. Then wipe it off with a cloth or paper towel. No more crayon marks. I was quite impressed.I've also heard mayonnaise removes crayon from wood, but rubbing mayonnaise on the furniture doesn't really appeal to me.BTW, I've launched a new blog: Ice Princess's Recipes. Nunca había visto ni jugado un juego de este tipo, con esta “atmósfera”. Con sólo abrirlo y escuchar la música de fondo noté que estaba frente a algo diferente. Se trata de Crayon Physics, un juego de ingenio físico, en dónde el objetivo es uno solo y bien sencillo: llevar a una pelota hacia una estrella que salta. Para ello podemos dibujar cosas arriba de la pelota, que, al caer, la muevan hacia nuestro objetivo. Vean el siguiente video, el juego en acción: Aquí se está utilizando con pantalla táctil, pero aclaro que puede ser utilizado en una PC “normal” sin problemas. Este juego, al menos la versión que descargué (diferente a la del video por cierto), consta de 4 niveles, y no es necesario instalar nada para jugarlo. Ya he visto este juego en algunos otros blogs y se me dió por revisarlo, al principio no lo entendía bien pero el video me ayudó a aclarar las dudas. Mi impresión despues de verlo es simplemente: excelente. Es un juego que con su interface simple y su objetivo constante logró manterme ocupado por varios minutos.El objetivo del juego es simple: hacer que la bola roja golpee a la estrella amarilla, para eso te puedes ayudar de las distintas construcciones que haces en la interface del juego. El juego no necesita ser instalado (solo se descomprime la carpeta zippeada y ejecutas el EXE), y aunque lastimosamente aun se encuentra en fase de desarrollo segun su autor, puede mantenernos varios minutos ocupados pensando en las diferentes maneras que hay de resolver el problema y alcanzar el objetivo en diferentes niveles. Querían una buena excusa para que la próxima laptop que compren, tenga la funcionalidad de una tablet PC? Pues que tal Crayon Physics Deluxe? In introducing their new Egg Nog fragrance, Demeter made the claim “If you love Egg Nog, you’ll love Demeter’s Egg Nog…and if you hate it, maybe you just haven’t had GOOD Egg Nog”. I am in a different bind: I can’t remember what egg nog really tastes like. I haven’t had it in years. I don’t think I ever liked it, but honestly I’m not even sure. So this review won’t follow the usual Demeter pattern of yep, it smells just like its name. Demeter Egg Nog smells like sweet egg-y milk, reminiscent of their Condensed Milk scent, and as with the Condensed Milk, it reminds me of flan or egg custard. Now, I know there aren't many people in the world in need of the advice I am about to give. Still, if I can just help one person, it will be worth the wear and tear on my fingertips typing it out.When your child is peacefully colouring, and you decide to walk down the hall and switch the laundry into the dryer, please make sure you've closed the piano. Please. Trust me on this.And if you don't remember, and come back into the room to find her still colouring peacefully. Don't trust it. You were gone almost a full three minutes. Anything could have happened. I'd suggest checking the piano.And when you discover what's happened hours later and your daughter is napping. Don't give in to the temptation to wake her up and punish her. I didn't. But I feel guilty for being tempted by the notion.Instead, I had a mild panic attack, rushed into the laundry room to find something bristly to attack the crayon with. We went to the Crayola factory this week, and darned if not too much has changed since this awesome Sesame Street clip from the 80s. I have wanted to visit the factory since then. When they were making the crayons, the demonstrator let all the kids come up and put the wrappers on, and then asked if any parents wanted to do it. Of course I jumped right up! I said, “I thought you’d never ask!” In my eagerness, I put my wrapper on backwards, so that you can see the stripes, but no name. The guy asked us if anyone did that, and to hold them up – I thought he was going to make us give them back! He said, "Now it’s your crayon! Name it whatever you want!" so the kids were all impressed with me that I beat the system. ♥ Squid squid squid squid squid: Season 38 of Sesame Street started last week; this bit of hilarity is from the season opener. As with any type of candle making project, this one requires adult supervision. Keep little hands away from melted wax, because it’s very hot! There are a couple of different ways to make crayon candles, so I’ll share the basic method first, and then give you some variations. Here’s what you’ll need: Lots of broken crayons Candle mold, glass jar, or an old milk carton cut down to a few inches tall Candle wicks Optional: crushed ice, white paraffin wax, candle glitter, candle paints Sort the crayons into colour groups, with like colours together. This is optional, but if you melt them all together you’ll end up with an odd sort of colour for your finished candle. Melt the crayons, one colour group at a time, in a double boiler over low heat, stirring gently but frequently. Meanwhile, prepare the mold or container by placing the wick in the centre. If you have tabbed wicks, you can put a little bit of the melted crayon wax on the bottom of the tab to hold

I hate the big stupid bucket of pens in the kitchen cupboard. Every time I reach in and grab one, it doesn’t work! And they seem to be having pen babies in there, because I throw them away when they run dry! Yet we have a disproportionate amount of pens that don’t work, and it makes absolutely no sense to me. What happened to the BAG full of marketing pens we snagged from the home and garden show? All those little blue and green translucent pens from Xcel energy? Gone, I guess. It’s so annoying.
