I was absolutely floored by some of the calorie counts on these. The sodium counts were even more shocking on some of them. They didn't show the sodium count on all of them, but of the ones they did show the lowest one was over 2000 mgs and the highest one was the "Awesome Blossom" onion flower at Chili's with 6360mgs of sodium and 2710 calories. It's hard to even imagine what that does to your body. WOW.

Adam came home from school one day with this atrocious grade on his first grade spelling test. Only 2 correct? On closer examination, it appears that all the words except one are indeed spelled correctly, but just not in the right order. I knew exactly what the problem was. He had memorized the words and wrote them out ahead of time in the order that he learned them. I have seen him do this when we practice with him for homework. In the test, you can see that he actually wrote the second word correctly, erased it and then wrote the word that should have come next in order. He could not accept the random order! According to a criminal complaint filed Monday, the 32 year old soap star attacked 3 men by swinging a metal crate at them around 4:30 A.M Sunday in midtown Manhattan. The charges filed against Marston include second degree assault, menacing reckless endangerment and resisting arrest. Marston was taken to bellevue Hospital, where he was treated for various cuts and bruises and then carted off to jail, but then later released without bail. An unknown man and an officer were also injured in the incident early Sunday morning. Marston told the New York post "That he was attacked by three men and mistakenly taken into custody as the attacker." It is unclear at this time what actually prompted the fight. ABC, is aware of the incident and are looking into the matter. Marston plays Michael MCBain on "One Life To Life." Marston is due back in court Feb 4th.

There are two facts of life in the cell phone business — (1) consumers love their phones and (2) they don’t necessarily love the company that is providing the service. These facts suited the industry just fine for many years. One reason for complacency was that consumers just made calls and occasionally text messaged. Accordingly, carriers that provided the best service (Verizon Wireless) reaped the benefits and those that did not saw massive churn (AT&T Wireless).
Consumers demand much more from their wireless provider these days. Making calls and text messaging isn’t enough. We want instant access to the internet and we want devices which utilize hotspots to give us an internet experience like at work. Researchers over in the UK have developed a camera vision system that that automatically counts the number of people inside a vehicle. Such a system could be used to charge road tolls based upon the number of occupants, and monitor high-occupancy vehicle lanes. Its inventor, John Tyrer of Loughborough University, UK, claims the system is 95% accurate. "The step-change technology is the ability to look inside a car and count people," Tyrer says.Unlike previous systems that use cameras and computer algorithms to spot the number of faces through the windscreen of a car, the dtect system uses infrared light to detect human skin, and a computerized facial recognition system to double-check.The system works by shining infrared light with a wavelength of about 1550 nanometres through the windscreen of the car. What Dtect does is count the number of passengers inside cars to check if there is too many people in the car, the system is targeted at cars driving in high-occupancy vehicle lanes (HOV).
Tickets then can go out automatically which is what governments love to do as it saves them cash and gets them more cash, the infrared camera can even distinguish dummies and dogs from people.

I’ve been trying to make sense of the Wordpress blog stats and I can’t.
The running daily total seems to stick at a number for hours at a time. This is even after I have posted some tripe and uploaded it to Digg and Reddit which always generates hits. I also have referrers from ask.com, search.live.com, Technorati, Wordpress, MSDN, Google, BBC and others. Despite all of the referrers still nothing happens to the stats. I am getting piles of spam though.
Yesterday I thought I’d cheat by visiting the Wordpress.com version of this blog when not logged in. Therefore each visit should register as a hit. Tried it four times. Then tried it on someone else’s PC and lastly on my partners PC. Were any of these visits registered as hits? Were they hell.
Later on, something appears to come unstuck, and the hit counts lurches up by a small amount. Now I’m sure that if I visited the forums I would hear loads of valid reasons why this is all working nicely. But I’

Bloggers have gone off on a tangent this week over several posts concerning the age of VC backed entrepreneurs. Valleywag put out the following graphic suggesting the optimal age for a “homerun-level” idea to be 26.
I think it is important to note several points. These points should help to reassure any readers over 30 whose hopes for acquiring venture financing were discouraged.
-Type of business. The Valleywag list primarily features disruptive technology companies. Of course youth will have an edge here since they are the “early adopters” and tend to have more time…
-Time. How many 40 year olds with a family have the time, resources or the understanding spouse allowing pursuit of the startup dream?
-Evolution. Yahoo was not a huge media company when it started; nor was eBay. These companies were ultimately ‘homeruns,’ but I guarantee it only happened with the help of seasoned veterans, advisors and executives over 30.

After I was registering for Google’s sitemaps program, I was surprised that I found indirect links to my pages in the external links index. As you know, the old “link:www….” syntax has been disabled by google (does not show all the database secrets anymore) cause of too much abuse by “who-knows-who’s”.
So, if you want to know, what sites are really linking in, you have to subscribe to the sitemaps program. I have lots of indirect links (links working with the http-redirect, for example for click-counters) to my open source projects in software catalogs. Never thought they would count anything. But surprise, they are in the google database.

My friend and fellow commercial agent, Wade Sonenberg of the Sonenberg Company, has recently created a mashup of Georgia DOT traffic counts and Google Maps. It is a great tool for commercial agents and good knowledge for local residents. Wade had this to say about his new mashup:
“Commercial Realtors, shopping center investors, and retailers used to have only two options for finding Georgia DOT traffic counts: either pay hundreds of dollars for programs, or navigate the Georgia DOT’s web site which requires downloading programs to view maps with hardly legible names.
Now there is an easier (and free) way!
We have just introduced the “Beta” version of Georgia DOT Traffic Count Mashup, which combines Georgia’s publicly available traffic count data with Google’s easy to Google Maps interface.”

Did you know that Crewe's clock tower on Queensway is called Big Bill? Well it is, and in a few hours it will be saying goodbye to 2006 and welcoming 2007. Could 2007 be the clock's last year? A brief chat with Crewe & Nantwich mayor, Howard Curran, the other day suggested that the Queensway block will be the first to go as re-development of the town centre kicks off around June 2007. I believe that the clock face will be used somewhere in the new design but have not seen detailed plans as yet.
