Jennifer and I are leaving to go backpacking in four days. I can’t believe it’s finally here! We’re going to Hong Kong first for about three weeks. Jen let me stay at my friend George’s house for a few days. I wanted to spend as much time as I could with George. [...]

      Counting down! A dream vacation
I can’t say this too many times, but, get a passport. I am going on a Friend and Family cruise next week and since January, I have said that we will need passports for this trip! Well, my friend, I just love her to death, got spanked horribly with additional fees, because she had to go to the Philadelphia office to expedite her family's passport application. What is going on with the passport

      Counting Down
I love to count down to things. You might have been able to ascertain this characteristic from my posts regarding how many truck payments we have left. Life is really one big countdown when you think of it. Every day we are here on earth is one less day we have left to live. I know it sounds morbid, but it is true. I tend to ignore that countdown, and instead I focus on positive things and big eve

      Counting down to Krispy Kreme
My obsession with the American donut maker Krispy Kreme has blighted my personal life for many years but my excitement levels are now off the scale. Their first Manchester (and first Northern) outlet is set to open in December and How-Do have just a ran a piece on local ad agency M2 picking up the contract...but more importantly they've confirmed that the new Krispy Kreme outlet (located next to the Trafford Centre) will have a drive-thru! If you're wondering why on earth the outlet is in Trafford Park (not even inside the Trafford Centre) then the answer was given by reviewer Adam:"They are opening there because of the size of the factory that will be attached to the retail outlet, it will produce 290 dozen doughnuts per hour! and will supply Tesco extra stores in the north west, Leeds will follow shortly after Manchester, not sure where though."MC2's "Abby Wright" said: “There is a high demand already in Manchester (for the doughnuts)". Abby did not say that winning the contract

      counting down
So, the week is drawing to another close. My parents are taking David away for the entire weekend (they are heading to the beach). Normally, I would be all excited about the upcoming prospect of being alone with S., but I am still in a crummy mood.Dr. V called out of the blue yesterday. Wanted to see how I was doing. His words were... "I usually have my nurses call to see how you are doing, but I feel personally responsible for you."haha HA HA. Loved that.Besides severe intestinal distress, I felt no different after taking the Cytotec. Still spotting and the like, of varying intensity, but not really feeling like I thought I would. I guess I was waiting for the floodgates to open, and that just didn't happen. So we wait until Tuesday, and if needed, get some "stronger" meds. Hoping the u/s shows this pregnancy disappearing by then. Hopefully. So, as far as the weekend goes, it would have been nice for hubby and I to get away (by that I mean, drive the car somewhere FAR away from here),

      Counting down to Harry *swoon*
I love Harry Potter. Ask my brother how I responded when I saw the trailer to the 5th movie coming out in July. Ask almost anyone who knows me how intricately and passionately I have developed my theories. Ask me how empty life will seem when there isn't a "next" book to wait for. I am so eager to read book 7, I'm shivering in my skin. I've noticed that a lot of people have put up countdown widgets on their blogs, counting the days, hours, minutes, seconds before we reach the Deathly Hallows. I so want one. But I am not getting one, and here's why: last year, I had a count down ticking to nearly the same day - July 20th - my due date. I did in fact go into labor that day (although A wasn't actually born until July 22nd - 37 hours later - augh!). I just can't bring myself to countdown to that day again. Because, as much as I love Harry Potter, he can't hold a candle to the miracle I counted down for last year. I just needed to say that.(should you feel inclined to fol

      Now I’m counting down.
I can’t wait for school to get out. It’s been nice today, not having to run out at a certain time to pick Pablo up, and not having to rush around getting everybody dressed! I’m a little annoyed that Kayley gets out of school in (checks watch) five minutes, and I need to run down there and pick her up, since her babysitter is having car trouble. The kids are all asleep, and I’m going to have to wake them up to head out of here, and Kayley’s STILL going to end up waiting around for us. Blah. I’m so glad it’s almost over! (And, I can’t BELIEVE it’s almost over! This was a super-quick year.) The kids are all feeling better, but I’m still super tired. I didn’t get my nap. The kids got up late, so they didn’t go down for their nap until after 2. It just threw off our whole day. I didn’t feel like I could lie down and fall asleep, because I was worried I’d miss Kayley calling me or something. So, hopefully I c

      Counting Down to Departure
5 months until I submit my notice at work 6 months until my lease ends 7 months until I leave The numbers continue to get smaller in the multitude of ways I track the ever-decreasing time between this moment, and when I depart the country for my world travels. 7 episodes of The Sopranos before I downgrade my cable TV 1 season’s worth of DC United soccer games left to watch I’m a TV addict, though there are only a few shows I’ll truly miss (and watch the DVD’s later).  Lost, Heroes, and The Office come to mind.  The Major League Soccer Championship game is being hosted in Washington, DC at RFK Stadium this year, keeping alive the idea that I could see my team win the 2007 season on their home turf, a few weeks before I leave. 2 calendars (1 at home, 1 at work) Countdown plugin for blog (upper right corner) Every few days, I cross off a batch of dates from my home and work calendars.  Special joy is taken on the days I can flip the whole page over to the

      Counting Down...
...to Easter!I did my shopping for Easter yesterday. WHAT A ZOO! I got ham, potatoes, a few different veggies, along with some desserts (hic). I also FINALLY picked up some flowers for the house - a big bunch of tulips for the table, lilies for the mantel and some daffodils for my hubby.Daffodils were my Hubby's grandmother's favorite flower. In fact, she had LOADS of them on her property. So every spring, Hubby and I drive around to key spots in the area to watch the daffodils come up and bloom. Hubby was very close to his grandmother - she was the one who practically raised him for his first number of years (both his parents worked). She passed before I met Hubby, but I have learned to know about her through him, and I truly know that I missed out on meeting such a wonderful lady. It's sweet to think about. My husband is a tall guy - 6'4", and our son looks a lot like he did as a boy. His grandma was a little woman, straight from Italy, and had the wonderful broken English

      Counting down the Days
Just broke up for Easter. Not only does this mean that I have two weeks without college, but also means that there is one college term left before I leave formal education and embark on a gap year, which is in no way planned.Tomorrow I'm on a White Water Safety and Rescue course with Tom Parker and then a week on Saturday I head to Scotland for the rest of my Easter Holidays. At the moment it looks like it could be a week of low water fun[!].Good lines, stay safe and see you on the wet stuff...Iain

If you wanna see more pictures from this photoshoot, go to HOLLYWOODRAGCOOL!!America's Next Top Model did this murder photo shoot thing, which I think is totally awesome. The National Orginization for Women do not. They have a problem with it. Something about violence against women . . . . WHATEVER. Oh, now I understand, cuz looking at these pictures suddenly makes me wanna go out and murder a woman. See the rest of the pics at MOLLYGOOD.

It's Wednesday and I'm counting down to Disneyland
Well, it has been a busy week here at Rockhoppers. I have had musicians schedule, then cancel, and new ones schedule, and switch, and the truth is I am having trouble keeping up on who is what and when. I will keep the calendar up to date though or let you know of changes that occur.I am at the point where I can't tell which direction I am heading. I need a vacation! Lucky me . . . I am heading to Disneyland come Sunday and I get three days in Fantasyland!I have been visiting some really cool blogs lately and have updated my links for them so you can see them too. http://www.joggles.com/ is one of my faves for websites. I love the artists work. It resembles the way I feel lately. . .Anyway, I figured since I really am feeling uninspired I could probably tell you a story so without further delay...Dan found the place on Google Earth, and he's putting in a picture. I think the town had an actual population of 10 people in it. But it was a town, with a grocery store, a gas station and a
