It was bad enough when Cyheam Forney made an illegal left turn in front of a Suffolk County police sergeant. That was just the start. After being pulled over by Sgt. Daniel Lynch, Forney, 31, couldn't produce a license. Nor did he have any other identification. Forney gave Lynch his name, and Lynch ran his name. Turns out that Forney's license had been suspended 35 times. Taken to the Second Precinct in Huntington, Forney was issued summonses for the illegal turn, too-dark tinted windows, unlicensed operation, and sub-standard tires. Whoa. The good thing was, he was offered $500 bail. The bad thing was, when he tried to pay with cash, one of the officers noticed one of the bills looked - well, fake. "He said some guy gave it to him when he was playing dice the night before,"

Counterfeit goods cost consumers and legitimate manufacturers hundreds of billions of dollars every year. Yes, that is billions with a "B.†Big deal right? You buy a knock off Coach purse or Prada hand bag for $30 and no one is the wiser. What does it matter?
Well, aside from ethical considerations, there is a lot at stake with counterfeit goods. You need to consider the quality of the item, who is making the item (child labor anyone?), where the money goes (organized crime or terrorists?), and most importantly, the safety of the item. Many counterfeit electronics and batteries have been known to explode or catch fire, which can be particularly dangerous. Counterfeit pills, medicines, and toothpaste can also be extremely harmful.
Here is a guide to help you avoid unknowingly purchasing counterfeit goods:

Yes, people the title says it all. Someone has decided to portray themselves as the one and only Kristia. WTF is the world coming to?! Can't a beautiful, blond babe get some d@mn respect around here? (Not with my old, bitter, ugly, cellulite @ss around...hahahahahaha!)The Q. believes copying is the greatest form of flattery. For idiots who think they have the patent on the use of y'all; I am referring to something different. (Feels good to finally get that off my chest.) I communicated a tiny bit with Kristia last week. I told half of the Bar-Bee Twins that copying was the greatest form of flattery. If some lonely soul wants to be a beautiful, young, cellutite free bombshell; it's a compliment. Basically someone wishes to receive the attention they wouldn't get otherwise.I also informed Kristia that I wasn't a fan of the Bar-Bee Twins. I see no reason to be dishonest with the young woman. The FAKE KRISTIA MYSPACE IS www.myspace.com/kristia_bonitaThe REAL KRISTIA MYSPACE IS www.mys
Tonight, I watched Dateline on NBC about counterfeit drugs. It's kinda scary. I really don't understand why those people did such horrible things. When I saw the counterfeit products such as Viagra, Lipitor, Tamiflu and more, you can't even tell that they're fake. They look exactly the same as the original one. It's not really safe to buy such products. At this very moment, I have a second thoughts whether to buy vitamins or not. Feel free to check NBC website for more information.

Ok, the food recalls are alarming in their own right, after all, food poisoning is no fun. But some folks now have to even be careful about what they brush their teeth with after their meal. The FDA began spot-checking toothpaste retailers and distributors in May for tainted toothpaste; they were following up on press reports about contaminated toothpaste from China being found in Australia, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. On June 1st, the FDA issued an alert concerning counterfeit tubes of Colgate labeled as having been made in South Africa; suspicions grew when the words 'South Africa' and 'clinically' were misspelled on the labels. Furthermore, Colgate-Palmolive has stated that it does not import toothpaste from SouthAfrica. The fake Chinese toothpaste does not contain flouride, but instead has been found to contain traces of a chemical found in anti-freeze. Now the FDA has issued a full recall of the 'South Africa' tubes after the counterfeit dental product was found in s

This is so fun and handy. I've always wanted something like this, although i can go crazy by checking every bill. The system is easy :The counterfeit bill detector uses a UV ray detector and a magnetic strip to scan patterns and magnetic code that are universally used in real bills. All you do is scan the coding on the bottom of the bill, and if you hear a BEEP! that means that it's real.source
