Chevrolet's Special '427 Limited Edition Z06' Salutes Classic 427 Corvettes
Chevrolet announced the 2008 Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06, a limited-production model that pays homage to the big-block Stingray models of the mid-1960s. The 427 designation refers to the cubic-inch displacement for the highest-performance engines offered between 1966 and ’69 – and is also the cubic-inch equivalent of the Z06’s 7.0L LS7 small-block V-8.The 427 Limited Edition Z06 features a Crystal Red Tintcoat exterior, the first Z06 ever offered with a red metallic tintcoat paint. It also features graphics on the hood and fascia that evoke the style of the famed “stinger” hood design and graphics that were offered with 1967 models equipped with the 427 engine. Also unique to this model are “427” hood badges. Each example is numbered and signed by Wil Cooksey, the Corvet

Three Serial #1 Corvettes at Auction
I dig auctions. The easy part to figure out is that it’s a great place to see a CRAZY-good variety of cars with most of them in unreal condition, but there’s something else too. I dig seeing guys who can afford to buy them! Some of that’s jealousy, sure, but it creates [...]

Corvettes for Indonesian Navy to be made in Netherlands
Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Slamet Soebijanto said here Thursday corvettes of the Sigma (Ship Integrated Geometrical Modularity Approach) class would be built in the Netherlands not in Russia although the navy would explore the possibility of buying warships to that country. The corvette 3 and corvette 4 are among the four warships of Sigma class ordered by Indonesia from the Netherlands, he said. The plan to buy the four warships has been made since 2004 and two of them have been made since early 2005 and the rest in 2006. The first two warships were named KRI Diponegoro-356 and KRI Hasanuddin respectively. KRI Diponegoro-365 was expected to arrive in Indonesia by the end of August or early September, Soebijanto said.Indonesia News Blog: http://indosnesos.blogspot.com

Ron Fellows Interviewed About His Corvettes
Corvette was featured in several short videos produced by Motor Trend MultiMedia in conjunction with this year's Chicago Auto Show.Ron Fellows talks about his award winning Corvette C6.R racecar and his "first off the line" personal 2007 Ron Fellows Edition Corvette Z06 on camera.  He admits he doesn't use a Corvette for transporting his family, though.  Space requirements place him happily in a Cadillac Escalade.Stand by for showroom pictures at this website when our dealership's first Ron Fellows Edition Corvette Z06 arrives!    A special Arctic White C6.R ran in this past weekend's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in honor of Ron Fellows, one of Corvette Racing's winningest drivers.A great deal of interest has been shown in the showroom version, about to be arriving in dealerships across America.[ Car Announcement ][ Sebring Results ][ Motor Trend MultiMedia ]

      Callaway Corvettes at the Museum
The 2007 Callaway Corvette C16 has recently been in the news, but were you aware that older Callaway eye candy is available for viewing at the National Corvette Museum?I think my favorite on my recent visit was this fabulous purple and silver 1995 ZR-1 Callaway ZR-LM Coupe.  Deriving 502hp from the 350 cubic inch engine and showing amazingly British good looks, this car was on loan from John Christenson.  Also present was the beautiful dark grey 1991 Corvette Callaway Speedster on loan from the Chip Miller Family, of "Corvettes at Carlisle" fame (shown in the foreground, at right).Quite a number of Callaways were present on the day of my visit last month.  If you are interested in seeing a particular Corvette that you may have read about or heard about being there, you may want to check that it is going to be there when you make your visit.  Many of these vehicles rotate in and out of the collection on a regular basis.Related:

Corvettes at Detroit Autorama Show - Part I
There were many beautiful Corvettes at the Detroit Autorama this past weekend! One of my favorite Corvettes, without question, was the 789, manufactured by n2a Motors of Santa Ana, California. The front of the vehicle resembles the 1957 full sized Chevrolet. The side resembles the 1958. The rear is all 1959 Impala. All of this is assembled on a C6 Corvette chassis. Honestly, it may not sound right on paper, but this vehicle is beautiful! My personal photos did not do the vehicle the justice these promo shots do for it. It is gorgeous from every direction. Personally, I'd like to see it in red and black, too.The factory is developing some other vehicles as well, all of which sound interesting to me.  We wish them well because we would like to see versions of a Corvette like this at the Woodward Dream Cruise this summer, and then in car shows everywhere![ n2a Motors ]

NY Auditor Spends Office Budget on Corvettes
The NY State Attorney General is looking into reports that the NY Office of Mental Health had approved payments of nearly $1.2 Million for site studies to a company called "Very Important Property"... also known as "V.I.P." According to the New York Times, V.I.P. is nothing more than a post office box and a bank account opened by James Leggiero, the Auditor in question.  Mr. Leggiero, drives a Cadillac Escalade and reportedly owns three Corvettes, including a highly sought 1958 model.  All of the vehicles, and his mortgage, was paid by V.I.P. It's incredibly unfortunate that the NY Office of Mental Health has been wrapped up in this.  Think of what $1.2 million could do for those in need with mental health issues.  Hopefully this is the end to the shenanigans and this guy's bubble has finally burst.  Although he hasn't be charged with anything yet, you can bet his Corvette collection could be on the auction block before too much longer.
