Well, I must say I am totally bewildered. Reading into “Java 2: The Complete Reference” by Herbert Schildt, I stumbled upon a method called “arraycopy()”, defined by the class System. This method is supposed to copy one array into another. This what the book says about the method:The arraycopy( ) method can be used to copy quickly an array of any type from one place to another. This is much faster than the equivalent loop written out longhand in Java....A quick search in the web about the method conformed this, a website recommending the use of arraycopy() over iterative method says:….Besides accomplishing the same result with less code, this approach has the added advantage of being faster, since arraycopy is implemented as a native method, and will generally execute faster than

Counterterrorism Blog -- It shouldn't surprise us if we find that the Shiite militias have prepared for the same type of warfare engaged in by their Hezbollah cousins in 2006, using Iranian arms, IRGC advisers and trainers, and similar tactics. The obvious difference between Lebanon 2006 and Iraq 2008 is the direct action in Iraq by the U.S. military, who are now far more efficient in counterinsurgency and urban warfare than the Israelis were entering the 2006 conflict. Did the Shiite militia desire such a reaction? Is that why they shelled the Green Zone so early in the conflict with the Iraqi army, to draw the Americans in and inject more uncertainty over Iraq into the 2008 election cycle?Shiite militia leaders have already achieved one strategic goal: they showed Pentagon planners and Am
In reviewing the action this week between Iraqi forces and Shiite militia, it's instructive to compare press accounts of this conflict to reports from the 2006 Hezbollah-Israel conflict in Lebanon, as posted or discussed on this website. Some examples: "Hizballah has proven to be a far more effective fighting machine than Israel anticipated, and the Israelis find themselves in a difficult situation: Continued military operations in Lebanon risk escalation and further destabilization, while a quick...(read more)
Seth Godin on his blog had an interesting post where he asksShould you make stuff aimed at people who usually buy your product?orShould you make stuff aimed at people who rarely do?Well this is my take on itIf you do what your competitors don't have you are a pioneer. There is a high probability that it will fail but if it does succeed then you have higher returns. On the other hand if you choose to go with what your competitors have you are a copycat but you have a higher chance of making something that will succeed as it has already been tried before but the returns are obviously lower.I once read that an entrepreneur is one who sees things that other people don't. It's been almost nine months since we first reported on Windows Vista's inability to copy, delete and move files without stalling indefinitely, and yet the problem continues.Screenshots relayed this week by two Reg readers say it better than we ever could. "48167 Days and 23 hours remaining," one of them reads. "36843 Days and 0 hours remaining," states the other. Both are Vista's best-faith guesses as to how long it will take to copy data from one location to another."I have been experiencing slow copying ever since I 'upgraded' to Vista earlier this year, particularly from USB keys & drives," writes Adrian Procter, the Reg reader who provides Screenshot 1 (right). When Procter tried to create a CD with just 168Mb of pictures, Vista told him it would take more than 131 years to complete the job.So he canceled the job and used Nero 7. The task was completed successfully in a couple minutes. Both CDs came from the same package and he's never had an error writing to CDs or DVDs bef
VirtualBox .vdi images are very difficult to copy in my experience. For a while I was posting new guest operating systems at VirtLinux, but it seems that the copy method was not preserving the functionality of the file system. I then tried to mount a remote directory, using sshfs, and then using VBoxManage clonevdi to copy the image that way. This was also not successful, and I am currently without a solution. It seems that vmware images are much more transferable and stable as compared to the .vdi format.

The other day there was a show on about how Rome used gravity to move sewage through their Aqueducts. I thought about today's technology, and wondered why Rom had gone to such trouble. Why? Because it was beneficial. Eliminating waste is a good thing. But I wondered why Rome went to such great lengths. I like to think Rome did so because it was excellent, and that any person, group, or nation can reacquire that same inspiration and do great things of their own.But then I wondered, what if humans reached modern technology previously? What if sewage elimination was taken for granted before The Cataclysm? And what if the survivors wanted to recapture that luxury, even thought the technology had been lost? Maybe Rome did what they did to recapture some semblance of normalcy after the world was devastated through unknown means.

I just finished watching Copying Beethoven. There were two things in it that I thought were stellar. The first is the part where Beethoven is critiquing his copyist's work. He tells her that it's all about structure and form and has no soul. That was just so poetic. He's so right. While I generally teach from the rules, structure, form perspective, I do so because I find that is the piece that is lacking. Without structure, your soul cannot be held together in an artistic way. But what differentiates an artist from a practitioner is the harmonious blend of both. Anyway, that was nicely done. The other thing I liked about this movie was the music. The music was just fantastic. The music from this movie reminded me so much of Egyptian classical music because of the complexity, intensity, emotional quality, and in some cases the simplicity. There are pieces of music that I just can't dance to because I get too wrapped up in listening that I cease to move altogether. Some music is just

Generally speaking, Linux, open source, Microsoft and Windows are by no means aligned concepts. In fact, with the exception of the Linux and Windows technical interoperability efforts derived from the Microsoft and Novell agreement focused on heterogeneous environments, the two platforms don't mix. Not even by far. Additionally, Microsoft's latest Windows Operating system, Windows Vista was regarded as a window of opportunity for Linux to increase its foothold on the client side. Almost nine months into the general availability of Vista, and the various distributions of the open sourceplatform are still situated under the 1% market share milestone, according to statistics provided by net Applications. At the same time, Vista grew past the 7% market share mark, indicating that from January 30, 2007, Microsoft shipped in exces

The great variety of languages confronting an average person every single day have created a lot of headache. Especially if the boss is strictly demanding translations of a document at his desk till the end of the working day.If this is a way things are done at your job, you should hear good news from Fuji Xerox - which has begun to produce photocopy machines translating the Japanese text into Chinese, English and Korean. The copying machine is connected to the translation server. It is equipped with the hardware containing algorithms, which can distinguish between the written text, lines and pictures, so as the original layout of a newspaper, a magazine or a document will be preserved.Unfortunately for the tired office workers all over the world, the miracle-copying machines are currently available only in Japan. Whether the new invention will do a better job in the matters of syntax as compared to Babel Fish or Google Translate, is still unknown. However, the hopes for better future st
Copying files is the Achilles’ heel of Windows Vista, “calculating time remaining…” the blue screen of death equivalent. If anyone tells you Windows Vista isn’t slow at copying files, then they obviously haven’t downloaded any DVDrips and tried to move it onto another computer. It was anticipated Windows Vista Service Pack 1 would fix this problem amongst other things.

This is a big problem for many bloggers, what I am going to write about, some one stealing content of blog………….right????????
Actually this is nothing but a try to become popular without putting any effort and in a cheap way…so what to do? Ok, you have to stop others from stealing your content basically those you have researched and put a heavy effort then prepared…. You are publishing it in your blog then someone is coming to your blog as a visitor …getting the goldmine you have created and taking it to his or her own blog and publishing it without informing you and you are getting yourself helpless as you can not stop him or her.
Now the question is why they are doing this?
The reasons may be as I think
1> The author is too lazy to type and want ready made things so that he or she can post in his or her own blog.
2> Want more visitors, so that needs some good posts which he or she can not produce of his or her own.
3> Keyboard broke

So if you're qualified to be President, so is Mike, except he'll do it better.Hey Rudy...checkmate
Wingspan’s iLoad has announced the ability to copy DVDs to iPods and CD ripping functionality for the forthcoming iPhone.
As we’ve previusly reported, the iLoad is easy to use.
Simply plug the iPod into iLoad, insert a DVD or CD, and press the “GO” button, eliminating the need for a computer “middleman”.
iLoad can transfer either the entire DVD or CD or the tracks of the user’s choice as well as the album and track information directly to the iPod without using a computer, iTunes or internet connection.
Copying speed for CDs is typically eight minutes per CD, roughly the same as the average PC transfer but without hassle of booting and filling-up your computer just to get your music onto an iPod.

It is a fact that $6.49 billion a year in loss is incurred due to illegal duplicated usage. The truth is, you’d bet it is as real as it is ongoing today. The ‘courteous’ approach to piracy is when former customers ‘nicely’ ask for refund after a period but there’s still no way to cut off access when the product is already with them, and they know how to take advantage of this loophole.
Rod Beckwith and Anton Dubina has released a new service that allows business owners to terminate further access to copies of their digital products that have been refunded, which until now, was becoming an increasing profit loss due to unethical customers continuing to use the purchased product after asking for a refund.
Either make it paid or make it free, and if it matters to you the Internet’s gonna pay for your next car or house, it’s time to secure your business. Lock It Now!
Copy a file or directory is very easy. Well, it's always easy once you know... You will need to use the the cp (copy) utility. It's a very easy utility to use. Here are some quick points.cp originalfile newfile -- Copies contents of originalfile into newfile. The permissions and attribute information are not preserved.cp -p originalfile newfile -- same as above, except the permission and attribute information are preserved.cp -pr originaldirectory newdirectory -- same as above, except the permissions/attribute information are preserved. One big thing here, the -r is recursive.
