      Iranian Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri Hamaneh here on Saturday referred to talks with his Turkish counterpart, Hilmi Guler, as a "great step" towards expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of oil and gas. He made the remark while talking to IRNA after signing an agreement on bilateral energy cooperation with Guler. He expressed hope that by materialization of the agreement, Iran's gas would be exported to Europe. Vaziri-Hamaneh and Guler inked the agreement after two days of expert discussions. "Naturally, in order to export Iran's gas to Europe, gas pipelines should be laid between the two countries," Hamaneh said adding that the project should be carried out on a 50-50 basis by the two sides. "We produce 15 million tons of crude palm oil (CPO) from 5.15 million hectares of oil palm plantations. Of the total, 1.4 million tons will be used as bio-fuel, while 10 to 15 percent or 140,000 tons will be side-products in the form of glycerol," Wahono Sumaryono, deputy head in charge of biotechnology and agro-industry of the Technology Assessment and Application Agency (BPPT), said. The glycerol could be reprocessed into materials to make cosmetic and plastic products, he said.
