Following the Kentucky's Board of Education's Barbara Erwin debacle, newly minted Governor-elect Steve Beshear asked the KBE to conduct a national search for Education Commissioner. KBE blew him off and hired Kentuckian Jon Draud.Earlier this month, Beshear warned the Council on Postsecondary Education that they must conduct a national search for its next president. CPE blew him off and hired its interim president Brad Cowgill without a new search. Council chairman John Turner of Lebanon said no search was necessary because "we have the right person in place."Beshear responded by calling for an Attorney General's Opinion and asked the CPE to refrain from executing a contract with Cowgill. CPE did not finalize the contract. The Courier-Journal jumped into the fray with an opinion calling CPE
Before resigning in February 2001 - following his investigation of allegations of Sai Baba’s multi-faceted abuse - Timothy Conway Ph.D had been a respected member of the US Sathya Sai Baba movement (president of the large San Francisco center and a liason-consultant for Northern California in the early to mid-1980s), as well as a longtime member of Santa Barbara, CA, Sai Center since 1988 (in addition to hosting the local Ammachi satsang and his own spiritual groups). Timothy’s key interest has been comparative East-West spiritual traditions, not just emphasizing intellectual expertise but concerned with actual living of the insights and precepts. An independent scholar with a background in psychology, Timothy is a respected lecturer and author of several outstandingly well-reviewed books (Women of Power And Grace and the forthcoming two-volume India’s Sages and other works). Mike Conway has said that he is pleased with how his second opportunity to test in a Honda F1 car has gone.
He joined fellow GP2 racers Andreas Zuber and Luca Filippi for a try-out after the trio impressed at the first winter testing session in Barcelona.
As well as giving the team a chance to evaluate the drivers, the testing programme was designed to examine set-up changes on the car and shorter new tyre qualifying simulations.
Conway had first go on Tuesday when he put in 88 laps during the course of the day and finished 10th in the standings with a fastest lap time of 1:20.927.
He said: “It was great to get back in the car again after a couple of weeks’ break from the Barcelona test. I felt that I was able to get back into the swing of things pretty quickly and learn more about the car and set-up.
“It was great to work with the Honda engineers and benefit from the experience they have of working with so many drivers. The feedback really helps you to learn and improv
Amazingly, I’d forgotten about Werewolf by Night’s major subplot, the mysterious Darkhold book, an ancient European tome of yada yada yada. It’s not even a subplot, it’s a major, frequent plot point, but still, I had actually forgotten about it, probably because it ends up being used as an excuse for just about everything. But Conway does introduce it quite well in this issue. The thing I like most about his writing is the complete comic experience he brings to every issue. Three nights pass in this issue. Sure, lots of the time is spent with Jack Russell unconscious, but it’s still an actual passage of time. Conway gets a beginning, middle and end in, develops some of the unresolved concerns from the first issue (I guess they’d be C plots) and manages to introduce the Darkhold.
Ploog’s got a lot to draw in this issue–bikers, claw-handed grotesques, a woman with a Bride of Frankenstein hairdo–and he does a great job (of course). S
Every time I read Werewolf by Night–starting, of course, in three issues of Marvel Spotlight–I marvel at two things. First, Mike Ploog’s artwork. It’s just so wonderful. In one issue, I probably found two perfect panels a page. It’s not only his faces (though he’s going to look great on The Spirit), it’s his understanding of movement. His figures move across the page–and his sense of composition is incredible. Makes me wonder why Conway covered so much of that art with words.
The second thing I always notice is how well Conway modernizes the Universal Wolf Man movie–is Californize a word? Doesn’t seem to be, but it’s essentially what Conway does. He starts with the old poem from the movie and opens with a scene, though with modern scenery, looks like it’s out of Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (just before Patric Knowles comes in to it). He keeps that tone throughout somehow, maybe using the narration. I really don’t know (the comparison was
Number 536Conway Twitty"Its Only Make Believe"(1958) .. .Genre:Rock n RollPic by lizbraun (buy it!)So, your in the 1950's and your name is Conway Twitty? Well, you wouldn't want to rock up to your first day at college with a name like that would you? So it would be quite surprising if you knew he changed his name to that, from Harold Jenkins? Ah the good ole 50's i tell you. So fess up ..... How many of you have had a pompadour hmmm? Last living person i knew who had a head of hair like that was the lead singer out of Dread Zepplin (and I'm sure that's just a stage act ~ i hope)What a sezzy Pompadour notI must admit i do like the music from this time period. It reminds me of, say, "Christine" the movie about a homicidal spiteful evil car (written by Stephen King, i would love to see Christine kill the VW "Herbie" take that Disney!) Also this music reminds me of the soundtrack "American Graffiti" and that album from 1973 was a huge influence to me back then, Platters, Crests, Del S

Mike Conway, whose GP2 season with Super Nova was mixed but at times highly promising, is to test for Honda’s F1 team.
The former Macau Grand Prix winner, who is managed by Martin Brundle and Mark Blundell at 2MB Sports Management, will test at Barcelona next month alongside Luca Filippi and Andreas Zuber.
Honda’s sporting director, Ron Meadows, said the aim of the session would be to assess the drivers’ skills, with a possible view to a future testing role.
He said: “Honda is committed to developing promising young talent in motor sport and we will take this opportunity to have a closer look at three young drivers who have done very well in the GP2 series this year.
“We will also be evaluating their potential to assist Honda in the future with our testing requirements.”

No, I'm not making this up. Just got an official RB statement on the matter, which was previously reported by Ives as well. My question is, if Jon Conway is the team's "unsung player of the year," does that preclude him from winning the Least Valuable Player award? Unfortunately, the team's statement does not divulge how the decision was reached. I do remember filling out a questionnaire in the Giants Stadium press box recently, which queried some of the awards the team handed out today, but there is no indication how, if at all, the team took these into account. To summarize the winners, Juan Pablo Angel brought home the Red Bulls Honda MVP, Budweiser Golden Boot, and Red Bulls newcomer of the year awards (a hat trick, if you will). Jeff Parke won defender of the year, Jozy Altidore the young player of the year and Seth Stammler the USSF Humanitarian of the year. I can't really argue with any of those, but Conway? Unsung player of the year? Okay, so it's certainly appropriate if
LOS ANGELES — Laila Ali and retired NFL wide receiver Curtis Conway were married this weekend, her manager, Eric Kaufman, said Monday. Kaufman wouldn’t release any details of Sunday’s wedding. Originally a '50s rock & roll singer, Conway Twitty became the reigning country superstar of the '70s and '80s, racking up a record 40 number one hits over the course of two decades. With his deep, resonant down-home voice, Twitty was one of the smoothest balladeers to work in Nashville during the country-pop era, but he was also one of the most adventurous. More than any other singer, he was responsible for selling country as an "adult" music, slipping sexually suggestive lyrics into his lush productions, yet never singing misogynist lyrics -- by and large, his songs were sensitive and sensual, which is part of the reason why he achieved such a large success. Once Twitty reached the top of the country charts in the late '60s, he stayed there for years on end, releasing a consistent stream of Top Ten hits that both defined and expanded the limitations of country-pop by adding subtle R&B, pop, and rock & roll influences. Though he had some pop success, Twitty remained country to the
