Nearly all professional websites employ a Content Management System (CMS) to manage their web content. A CMS can store, version, publish, organize, and control all the information published, so choosing the right one is important.
Static websites are out and CMS websites are in. Content management system is the new tool to make running a website easy and “doable” for non technical minded people.
Its basically like running your website from a simple control panel.
You can add new pages, modify pages, categorize pages, change the layout, add new functionalities, manage users, [...]

A content management system (CMS) is a system used to manage the content of a Web site. CMSs are deployed primarily for interactive use by a potentially large number of contributors. For example, the software for the website Wikipedia is based on a wiki, which is a particular type of content management system. For the purposes of this page, Content management means Web Content Management. Other related forms of content management are listed below. The content managed includes computer files, image media, audio files, electronic documents and web content. The idea behind a CMS is to make these files available inter-office, as well as over the web. A CMS would most often be used as an archive as well. Many companies use a CMS to store files in a non-proprietary form. Companies use a CMS to sh

The days of static html websites are over, and have been for awhile. Most company, organization, and personal websites are interactive. There are a number of “Content Management Systems” you can buy for a whack of money, some are cheap, most are simply crap. Add to that the fact that there is very little support for a number of the paid ones.
I have experience with a couple that I bought. The biggest piece of crap “CMS” I bought was called “Siteworkspro”. I don’t know what the “Pro” in the name refers to because there is nothing professional about it. Their own website barely works. The support forums don’t work, and you’ll be lucky to get an email back in less than 48 hours if you have a problem, like I did.
Sorry to pick on one product, this is just to illustrate a point, the point being, most paid software is buggy and has crappy support. On the other hand, open source software that is free has some great support, an

I’m always on the lookout for easy to use content management systems to handle my growing network of websites and texty.com may just be the easiest yet. The problem with trying out so many different systems is that they all have their own learning curve. Texty, however has almost none!
This is because Texty integrates directly into your current website design software. You simply visit their website, use their WYSIWYG rich text editor to type up your content, select whether or not you wish to allow comments or have an RSS feed, and then copy and past the javascript into your page. Whenever you want to modify the Texty you just pop over to their site and edit it right there, replacing the code when you’re done. What could be easier?
If you’ve been dreading updating the About Us or biographical pages on your static pages, then you owe it to yourself, and to your visitors, to give Texty a try.

Managing content on a website is important. Making sure your website is updated regularly to keep your visitors coming back is vital to your website's success. You could spend money on a content management system for your website, or you could take a revolutionary - yet debatable - approach to content management, use Twitter. If you don't know, Twitter is a "global community of friends and strangers" that allows users to post small, 140 character updates to a personalized account (eg. twitter.com/yourname). Updates can be made via the web, cellphone, or from an instant messaging service. How can you use Twitter to your personal website's advantage? It's extremely simple. Here's how:You'll need a Twitter account. If you don't have one yet, sign-up for an account. It's free, easy, and doesn't require a handful of information. I would recommend signing up with a username and information related directly to your website. While the Twitter page you get won't be very important to your
Content Management System (CMS) is a software system used for content management. This includes computer files, image media, audio files, electronic documents and web content.Like you know a standard HTML website is static and fixed. Which means that to change any text and images, the page files that make up the site must be edited then uploaded to the web server. To do this you either have to be a web programmer or you have to hire one. Here with a content management system, the content within the pages that make up the site is not pre-written into the pages, but pulled from an online database when a user requests a page. You have the ability to alter the content within the database at any time via an easy to use administration interface with your web browser. The logon to your administration uses a secure password therefore no one else can alter your website.
