He would travel back in time and relive certain evens and attempt to prevent the outcome. He would protect Charlie over and over as Charlie was destined to die. What Desmond learned last season and what was confirmed again by Daniel Faraday is that you cannot change the future. I hope Sarah Connor realizes that and starts stockpili

      Constant XML not so constant?
It seems that the constants behave strangely in Flex. Here is why:   public const X:String = "X"; public const Y:int = 101; public const NotSoConstant:XML = ...some random xml... Now here comes the fun part:   var x:string = X; x = "aaa"; trace(X + ":" + x); // X:aaa var y:int = Y; y = 10; trace(Y +":" + y); //101:10 var constantOrNot:XML = NotSoConstant; constantOrNot = ...another xml... Now you would think that constantOrNot will be different from NotSoConstant? You would be wrong. It seems that in the cases of XML objects the initial setup of the constantOrNot is done by using a reference pointer. So if you modify the constantOrNot it will also modify the constant it was used to set it up.

      The One Constant
September 28th was one of the more difficult days of this last year; the day I had to return the Invasion Mobile. This was my house for a year, ever more than that, a home. For one year I lived out of this car. I hauled my duffel bag, camera bag, and laptop bag in and out of it daily. All driving time totaled this year and I spent 1/12 of this entire year sitting in the driver’s seat of that 2007 Jeep Compass. That’s one minute for every 12 minutes of this entire year. A lot of time. The Compass was truly the only constant of the trip. Every few days was a new home, a new state, a new environment. Between all those stops there was my time in the Jeep, the driving time became my time to decompress. It offered me my freedom. I could jump in and drive, and drive, and drive as far as I want or whatever route. It was my getaway. My retreat to sanity. Of all the things I’ll miss from this trip, the freedom of the open road will be one of the biggest. Incredible. I was

Constant BOG press release reminder: "We guide the SUS"
Whenever institutions like USF and the Board of Governors send out press releases, the releases typically include a footer describing themselves. USF touts its position as a research university, for example. But the BOG footer, while not new, bears even more significance as the constitutionally created board battles the Legislature in court over its tuition-setting and other authorities. "The Board of Governors is the constitutional body created by voters in 2002 to guide the State University System of Florida," each press release notes at the bottom. Ya know, just in case lawmakers weren't clear on that point.

      Constant Cravings
For those of you who are musically literate, no, I'm not posting about K.D. Lang. But I'm besieged by cravings right now. There's this deep seeded hunger clawing at my insides, and at any moment I'm either going to give in and seek satisfaction, or scream my throat raw. The latter is actually the worst of the two options, now that I break it down like that. After all, the kids are sleeping.I'm craving books. I keep bringing Amazon.ca up in another window, clickety-clicking my shopping cart full then, torn by indecision, closing the window and pretending it never happened. This has been going on for weeks.I turn now and look at the bookcases lining the far wall. Books, binders, toys. A set of dusty encyclopedias dating back to 1976. Some are Neil's, foreign to me. Mixing with books so very dear. Friends from otherwise friendless days. So many memories wrapped up in the ruffled pages and bent covers. The borrowed copy of C.S. Lewis' Cosmic Triology seems to shake with s
