People work at a job because, we as humans like consistency. I believe we are drawn to it and take comfort in it. That 8 to 5 job (or whatever the hours are) relives us of any concern of where we will go today (if today is a work day). And there is also consistency [...]

Consistency is something our society often overlooks. People are so focused on wanting things now that they aren't willing to spend the time consistently doing small things over time. This attitude results in loads of stress and lost opportunities. Here's how you can reap the benefits of consistently doing small things: First, pick small goals that can be somewhat easily integrated into your norma

Be only afraid of standing still."In Ancient Greece there was a story with the moral:"Slow and steady wins the race."(In America it's a cartoon.)The cultures, the centuries, the languages are all different but isn't funny how they all managed to stumble onto the same idea: consistency counts. If these are the nominees in November, I simply will not cast a ballot for president for

Winning greyhounds are consistent greyhounds. In my opinion, if you’re not handicapping for consistency, you’re not going to win at the dog track. When you think about it, consistency is just another word for class. If a greyhound doesn’t run in the money at a certain grade, it drops down. If it wins once [...]

More Thoughts Loved of The LORD, to continue in this direction of conscious awareness, I was pleasantly surprised that writing enhanced and strengthened it. Let me explain. I have this ‘little thing’ that bugs me. My neighbor has gofers and does not consistently eradicate them. The neighborhood is inundated with them, so it is an ongoing challenge. When one invades my premises, as soon as I am ‘aware’ I proceed to drown them out and/or gas bomb them. That way they do not get to establish their tunnel systems. BTW! I have cursed them in JESUS’ Name and my neighbor 2 doors north has told me not to curse them in his direction! He has wound up with some in his yard, every time I have done it, whether it was the same one(s) or not. Well, back to the chase! Aft

The parallel to marketing is quite interesting in this context! The word here is "CONSISTENCY". It doesn't matter how you start (either by delivering goods/services) but it's more important that you keep on delivering the best consistently.
That's what we should do.

In mainstream sports reporting, the term "consistent" is entirely meaningless. When Joe Morgan says, "He's the most consistent hitter on the ballclub", he is telling us absolutely nothing (I think he really means *best*, but that's a discussion for another day). In coverage of college basketball over the next month, we will be bombarded with discussion of how team X has to be more "consistent" to make a deep run. It's all BS."Consistency" does have an actual, significant application however, and can be interesting when discussed intelligently. First off, it's important to note that being consistent is not necessarily a good thing. If you're a 12 seed playing in the first round, the last thing you want is to consistently play to the level of a 12 seed. If you do this, you will lose al
I’ve always been curious about the consistency of players, and how we can go from outstanding to just plain miserable within the space of a few rounds. I myself have been a helpless victim of this for as long as I can remember, and am trying to figure out what it is that makes me play on top form.
Everybody is affected by consistency in some way, but the gamers who are most affected by
While doing my free eBay consultations I have noticed a pattern: many eBay sellers are not building a brand through consistency. I have seen a lot of sellers not using logos in their stores, or at the top of their auctions. Even more importantly, I have noticed a lack in auction template consistency. If you want a free logo, please just sign up here, and write "free logo" in the notes section. The best thing you can do to brand your eBay store is to have ONE auction template. There are lots of places to find a free generic template on Google, or you can have someone build one for you. The most important thing is that you use the same eBay template in all of your auctions. This is will save you time in listing, as you will not always have to add or edit all of your terms of sale. The oth
ACID (an acronymn for Atomicity Consistency Isolation Durability) is a concept that Database Professionals generally look for when evaluating databases and application architectures. For a reliable database all this four attributes should be achieved.
Atomicity is an all-or-none proposition.
Consistency guarantees that a transaction never leaves your database in a half-finished state.
Isolation keeps transactions separated from each other until they’re finished.
Durability guarantees that the database will keep track of pending changes in such a way that the server can recover from an abnormal termination.
Above four rules are very important for any developers dealing with databases.

By: Jack MoorehouseMany weekend golfers are too impatient for their own good. They don't take time to warm-up before playing a round of golf. They're too much in a hurry to tee off when they get a chance to play, which is understandable if they only play once a week. By the time they get to the course, they're usually chomping at the bit. Unfortunately, these golfers risk injury, sacrifice performance, and hurt their golf handicaps by not warming up properly.Failing to warm-up affects consistency and power. That's why I recommend using a pre-round warm-up routine in my golf lessons. You can't get the most out of your muscles if they're not ready to play. That means warming them up before you tee off. So if you're one of the weekend golfers who don't have a pre-round warm-up routine, think seriously about developing one. It could help your golf handicap more than you realize.Warm-up GoalsThe goal of a warm-up is increasing the body's core temperature, drive blood flow to workin
People don't really need a reason to leave the Church. But very often they will manufacture one. One recent excuse for deserting the Mystical Body of Christ has been the clergy abuse scandals. For more than ten years now I have been telling anyone who will listen that sexual abuse of children (both adolescents and pre-adolescents) has been far more widespread in the public schools and throughout society in general. Read here: http://www.dailynews.com/ci_7231716Presumably the same people who abandoned Holy Mother Church because of the actions of a comparatively smaller number of errant priests will now remove their children from the public school system.Or will they?
By: Dr. Noel Swanson. If parents want to achieve success in child discipline, they must inculcate the virtue of consistency. It is the most important thing especially for parents that have issues regarding child discipline. It is true that it is not easy to remain consistent all the time. After all, you are human beings with normal human failings. And, children can be absolutely exasperating at times. So, you can only aim at achieving consistency, but it is worth making all the effort because it has good effect on your children and you can teach them the basic norms of good behavior with good results. You will need an unshakable determination to deal with children; children can be exasperating at times. They will test your will power. Older children will be defiant and younger ones will just not remember the rules. Your task is to go on repeating the same rules over and over again until they are well established. During the course of this drill, you may encounter sudden bursts that will
Trading should be easy, but sometimes traders make it too complicated. I have been thinking about one of the principles of trading consistency mentioned in Trading in the Zone.I completely accept the risk or I am willing to let go of the trade.I was doing well last Monday, and Tuesday but somehow lost my focus as the week progressed. When I was focused, I put on a trade with a stop and let it work. I knew and accepted my risk. During Wednesday I got stopped out frequently and fear crept in again. The same thing happened on Thursday. By Friday I was a bit discouraged and I lost my ability to see any setups. When I got good trades I often exited earlier and missed out on the gains I would have if I followed my exit criteria. I think in order for me to really gain consistency I will have to let go of my fear of losing money and let my trades work.
If you create an expectation of content on your blog, readers return expecting to find similar content. If you switch one week from blogging about grooming pets to blogging about grooming horses, you have set an expectation that your blog is about grooming animals. If you switch from grooming dogs to racing cars, readers are thrown off and their expectations aren’t met. The odds are they will not return for more. It used to be said that predictability was boring. In blogging, predictability builds return customers. They know you are the expert on this subject and that you are the source for information. Meet their expectations when they return.

This weekend marks the 2007 USA National Championships, and once again, we’ll see Jeremy Wariner running, but not in his 400m specialty, thanks to the “Michael Johnson rule” of 1997.
MJ hurt himself in the 150m showdown with Donovan Bailey on June 1st that year, and this new rule (still in effect today) allows previous World Championship winners a bye to the upcoming World Champs.
Rest assured, if Jeremy is healthy and ready, we’ll see him dominate the 400m based on his early season performances. Again. Every year since 2004. That’s 4 years in a row!
For most athletes, what a difference one year makes! As I reminder, I always show these 2 interviews back to back.
One of the greatest 1500m performances that I’ve witnessed in my opinion was Gabe Jennings winning the 2000 Olympic Trials. He started his kick with 570m to go and nobody challenged him. Afterwards, he is on cloud nine as seen in the post-race interview, and he should be!
A year
Larry Brown had this great post today, ranking all of the Cincinnati Bengal arrests during the past months from the best to the worst. Looking at that list, certain things jump out.First, you really have to give props to Chris Henry. Christopher makes the list 4 times out of 13, meaning that he's batting a cool .307.... tops in the league. A.J. Nicholson is no slouch himself, making the list 2 times, which includes that infamous time where he stole electronics from his own teammate while at Florida State. Nicholson promptly got cut a while back, leading Jay to give him some tips on how to survive in a federal ass-pounding prison. My favorite though is Eric Steinbach. Larry ranks him at number 6, but I think I would've put him a bit higher than that. Really, "boating under the influence" is not one that you come across very often. Steinbach definitely raised the bar with that one. (horrible, horrible pun, I know)Either way, I guess that by now Roger Goodell must have some sort of sleep
Perhaps, one of the biggest things that can help you and your relationship with your suppliers is to be consistent in your payment. You might not be able to pay everybody right on time. But if you can establish a regular pattern of making your payments, such as getting payments in 40 days or 45 days as opposed to 30 day terms, that can still be much appreciated.
The accounts payable department on the other end will know when to expect your money. They’ll know their better off putting efforts elsewhere with other customers. They won’t bother you after 35 days or so.
What doesn’t work is being erratic. If sometimes you pay right on 30 and other times it’s going to be on 60, you’re going to condition certain behavior. You’re going to condition them to feel like they need to call you that they need to keep on you in order to get payment done in the shorter timeframe.
By being consistent and having your payments scheduled out on a consistent basis, it can also help you be more

Last night, I had the best dinner EVER.
Unfortunately, it was hell to get there.
You know how, here in Huntsville, restaurants will open strong and then.. slowly.. the quality comes down? Yeah, well, Carrabba’s (SADLY) has taken that turn.
While we used to eat there almost once a week (Bryan, of all people, LOVES calamari), our temporary residence in the Playhouse curbed our frequency. And, apparently, without our frequent visits, the staff stopped caring.
We went there one Friday night (maybe opening night?) late, and had to send the calamari back because it was so incredibly salty that it made my stomach cramp after two bites. We were assured it would be removed from our bill, and they sent out another platter of calamari as an apology.
Sure enough, that damn plate of calamari was on our bill at the end. We let it go.. karma and all.. but the rancid taste of overly-salted squid may have turned me from the dish for a long while.
We went again last night bec

Consistency is considered to be the most important aspect of a succesful branding by branding experts and industry opinion leaders questioned in a an Interbrand’s survey made pubilc late January this year.
The experts cited understanding of Customer/Target frequently. This mirrors the finding in this report that metrics and brand research are key tools. Communication and Creative effectiveness were also frequently mentioned as critical aspects of successful branding.
These open-ended responses provide a useful counterpoint to the other findings in this report. They reflect the classic tenets of branding and marketing, which are focused on knowing the customer, maintaining a consistent brand in the marketplace, and delivering winning content and creative.
