      CONNECTING BRAINS TO ARTIFICIAL BRAIN

But the control information should still be there in the residual nerves,” said Dr Todd A Kuiken, a physiatrist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and professor at Northwestern University. He conceived the idea of t

Armed with this information, you should be able to create your own style that shows flowlines of pipes at crossings and at changes in pipe sizes.Well this is one label style with which I've been wrestling for some time. Then while creating an offset label style the other day, it just hit me how easy it would be to get the two flowline elevations into one style. Now, at this point, the pipe size in this particular style has to be edited manually, but maybe this style might give you some ideas on how to get everything you want labeled automatically. The first thing you need to do is create a profile style with Line, Circular Curve, Symmetrical Pa

This revolution has to do with the exponentially increasing understanding of the human mind - the subtle yet profound influence of the subconscious mind on behavior. Conscious awareness is merely the beginning of the journey into the mind. Neuroscientists agree the vast majority of cognitive processing takes place outside of conscious awareness. Most neuroscientists estimate between 90-95% of mental and emotional activity occur outside our conscious notice. Much of this "underground" activity is automatic and emotional. Much of this commotion is bubbling just below the level of our awareness. So what's the fuss? Why care about mental activity that goes on behind the scenes? Connecting with the manger…where will you go?
The first year I brought my children to the live nativity at Mt. Bethel I had hopes of a deep rich spiritual connection for my family.  The December night air was crisp and cool,  and my husband and I began to share the story with our children as we approached the humble manger scene.  As we walked up to the cradle we realized our children were both distracted by other activity around the manger.  My son was fascinated with the chicken, and later cried because the chicken wouldn’t stop running so he could pick it up and love on it.  My daughter was enjoying the warmth from a little pit fire close by,  and visiting with friends.  Not the connection I had hoped for at all that night at the live nativity. As I watched my children I began to reflect on my personal experience with the live nativity.  As a child I was amazed by the angel and thought that was the miracle of the story.  When I met Jesus for the first time I made a connection with the baby in the cradle.  The

Different Methods of Connecting Multiple Computers to One Internet Connection
One of my most popular posts is titled Connecting Multiple Computers to Broadband which explains how to connect a router to your modem to allow many computers to connect to your Internet connection. The post explained the simplest method of connection multiple computers, but there are other ways to connect multiple computers.I will explain several other methods that you can use to connect computers to one Internet connection.Number of Computers to Connect to a RouterI have noticed that one of the most frequent questions that I get about connecting multiple computers is "how many computers can I connect to my router"? The answer to this question is the same as most other tech answers: "it depends."Each router only has so many ports that you can connect a computer into, and each connected computer requires the use of some of the router’s memory. That’s right, a router has internal memory. From what I have read, the new versions of the Linksys WRT54G router actually has less memory th

Networking Is About Connecting With Others - And Not About Keeping Score
What is our network? It’s the group of people we feel comfortable sharing ideas, information, recommendations, and referrals with. Every time we communicate with someone, we form a connection with that person. Sometimes the connection is strong. Sometimes, it’s not. Networking is something we learn at a very early stage. It’s what our parents teach us when they provide guidelines about sharing our toys, including our younger siblings, and treating others as we’d like to be treated. It’s also about who we interact with for specific advice. Parents often have a network of friends, play group parents, and others whom they turn to whenever they need advice on when to introduce solid foods, when to potty train, how to survive the terrible twos, what to do when their child becomes ill, how to choose the right preschool, and so forth. In business, you probably have specific coworkers you turn to when your computer crashes, you need a specific type of informati

Mobile VoIP - Connecting a Cell Phone
By: Matthew HickVoIP, known as Voice Over Internet Protocol, has created quite a buzz. It has helped to reduce phone costs and given people opportunities to save on phone bills each month. VoIP is now being used with cell phones as well. Long distance calls, when dialed on a cell phone, can cost a very great deal of money. If you use your cell phone to dial long distance quite often, VoIP may be the technology for you. VoIP technology combined with cell phones is for the person who is constantly on the go, and can't be tied to a computer all day to conduct his or her business. Although there do exist wireless IP phones, you can't roam everywhere with them. You may be the type of person who needs to do multiple tasks at once. If the cell phone is a mainstay in your life, then mobile VoIP will be just what you need to make life easier. On a cell phone you pay a flat monthly fee for a certain number of minutes. If you find you often exceed these minutes due to the number of long distanc

By: Corrin Ugalde Owning a computer is not as easy as others might think. It involves monetary consideration; the latest computer system that you want to have, the more you need to spend to acquire it. It may be one of your huge financial investments, thus you need to protect it against harmful elements, especially if it is connected to the Internet. You are probably aware of the risks of getting your computer connected to the Internet. Yes, you will have easy access to the information that you are looking for, purchase things without getting out of your residence, or transact business right at the comfort of your own bedroom. However, beyond the benefits you can get from the Internet lies the truth that there are data thieves and online hackers who will not hesitate to give you the worst experience in using the Internet. They will field programs that you will think are harmless but will be killing your computer system slowly but surely. Before you realize that you have encountered a v

      Connecting the wrong dots
"The point of all this is that we evolved for an environment very different from the one we’ve built for ourselves. For survival we have to fight our genetic instinct to tell ourselves stories (including the special case of connecting the dots) and be skeptical of our own conclusions." Tom Evslin Man's use of symblos to make sense of the world distinguishes him from roughly a million species.Symbols are the instruments which convert raw intelligence into culture.Being conscious of them, man was able to invent languages to communicate thoughts, work his environment, create concepts to express ideas, and images to identify the supernatural forces which surrounded him. They say with the first step by which the first man made the first human footprint on the surface of the moon, mankind became conscious of a new era in its evolution.I think it happened long before. It was when gazing into a fire, somewhere, sometime, suddenly a man saw a face in the flickering flames. At that moment matter

Internet Marketing And Opportunity Cost - Connecting The Dots
If you lose something that you never knew existed in the first place, what have you lost? And how will you ever know that you lost it? If a potential client or buyer doesn’t connect with you because they don’t know you’re there, what have you and they lost? These situations illustrate Opportunity Costs - measured by the lost revenue and profit resulting from inaction. We incur those costs by NOT seizing on a situation, an event, an opportunity. I call it the cost of What If? What if I had done…? Would it have led me to seize an opportunity that I didn’t know about, or knew about but ignored? How would that have changed my results? Would my income have increased? Would my reputation be stronger, my referral network larger? Would I have made new friends? Opportunity cost is rarely tracked or recorded, by companies or by individuals. It’s difficult to measure the result of a non-event. So why try? Because awareness of opportunity costs often reveal great potential gains by imp

      Connecting in Peace
`If we have no peace it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.’ Mother Teresa. Each of us can access our creativity, each of can access its peace and power. We all have the ability to connect in strength and harmony. When we forget this wonderful source of inspiration that is achievable by each of us we lose our ability to create. It is difficult to create with flow when one’s heart is blocked with cruel words, or actions. When one’s mind is crowded with thoughts of revenge, jealousy or hatred. Such concepts create barriers, darknesses to our ability to hear the music. to write the words , to imagine the colors that sing, to be inspired with the poem’s flow. It is a daily walk for each of us to let go of present darknesses. Recognize the murky wells that feed our locked in pain and prejudices and clear them for light. Each of us battles to keep open these doorways open and allow the music, the color, and the poems to spill forth through us

      Connecting with Others
Connecting with OthersIn this time of fast paced lives, It’s important to make time to connect with others. I can remember years ago before computers became household items, I enjoyed writing to some members of our family and a few pen pals. It was great to read about what they were doing and exchanging ideas. Once computers and the internet became common place there were even more ways to connect to others. When I took my business online, I slowly gained knowledge about other ways to connect to people. Having an at-home business can seem lonely. So I joined a few networks where I’ve met some great people. I needed some face to face contact, so I joined a couple of local groups. I collected their info and emailed them to get to know them and exchange ideas with them.Connecting with

5 tips for connecting with customers online
Making a connection with your customers is crucial to the success of your business, no matter what you’re selling. It’s one thing to do that in person—in a store, for example—and quite another to do online. Having a winning product and excellent customer service will take you a long way, even on a so-so Web site. But today’s Internet experts will tell you that’s not enough. Connecting with customers online requires a different set of strategies that might not seem intuitive to the average small business. Being aware of these connection-facilitating ideas can be as important to your company as the Internet itself. A 2007 survey by AMI-Partners found that more than 40 percent of U.S. small and midsize businesses are using Web 2.0 applications to connect with their customers through blogging, social networking, and other kinds of online interactivity. In other words, they’re reaching out to their customers in new, innovative ways more than ever. With that in mind, here a

Listening 360 | connecting with Divine
1.Once someone went to a sufi master who at that time was listening to a sufi sama (mystical music that connects to divine) in an absorbed state. Seeing the sufi master in such a state made the visitor surprised. She knew at that moment that the master was not here, he was literally lost.Feeling the presence of the visitor, the master told her, sit here my daughter and listen three sixty. What he meant was an invitation for listening with whole being. Listening three sixty is not merely listening but being absorbed, being totally immersed into the depth of the verses, in the tune, rhythms, vibrations. It triggers contemplative mood and deep state of meditation.2.Abida Parveen is a contemporary sufi singer who has the capability to draw her listeners into that sacred space where one listens 360. Only then at once some magic happens. Heart awakens, strange joy rushes in through the veins, sweet pain of separation comes alive, tears well in eyes and ultimately we feel the presence of the

      Connecting Through Memories
This weekend I attended a family reunion at my Aunt and Uncle’s house. I love my family, but I have to tell you what I really wanted to see was the creek that runs along in front of their house. I spent my childhood playing in creeks. I lived near a creek and if you couldn’t find me, there was a good chance I was there. My daughters have inherited this from me, and at the reunion we said our Hellos and made right for the creek! I wrote a little post about it on my blog on Active Rain. I didn’t really have any point in my writing, I just had a good memory and I felt like talking about it. Oh yes, and I had my camera on me and just happened to make up a Real Estate Show. (My husband teases me that I will take my camera to the gas station. Well, doesn’t everyone?) I didn’t expect this post to get more than one or two comments. This wasn’t something I expected others to relate to or even understand. Except for my girls, the rest of my family ce

PS3 connecting to Internet, DNS found & trying to surf without a keyboard
Had another go at connecting up the PS3 to the Internet and this time succeeded. Rather than use the Easy connection option I went for the Custom option which allows you to enter all of the IP addresses, including Primary and Secondary DNS’s. I was OK with the PS3 IP address, as well as the subnet mask and router IP addresses but not the DNS’s as these are dynamically allocated. Therefore out of the 5 addresses it wanted I left 2 blank. The trouble with that is that without filling up all 5 addresses you can’t save these settings. Well that is my take on it as with 2 blank I could not find any way to save this data. So gave up and did another Easy setup which took longer this time. This time it found all its IP addresses, connected to the Internet and proceded to download a second O/S upgrade which installed OK. One of these days one of these system upgrades is going to fail, what happens then? I then fired up the browser and the default home page was loaded OK. Stop

When it scans and finds a wireless connection you get a chance to confirm the connection you want to connect to and then add your WEP key. For now, for those studying in the US, there's CollegeMedium.com, a classifieds site that lets you target specific schools and search for items catered to students, whether it be a part-time job, roommate or cheap items to buy, or connect with other students. Connecting With Mother Earth
I don't know how many people actually try and connect with Mother Earth. However many there are I hope that soon there will be more. Many more. Maybe a lot of us really intend to make the effort but other things seem to always demand our attention and poor Mother Earth gets pushed aside. Recently when I connected with her I felt a deep loneliness rising from her.I try to connect physically with her every day. I use different methods. Sometimes, as I did today, I lay my hands on her surface and offer words of love and healing. I thank her for her continuing support and her tolerance of the abuses from humankind. On the days when I am unable to connect physically with her I visit her in my spirit body.Mother Earth is so vitally important to us. Let us always remember we are very intimately connected to her for our physical bodies are made from her elements. She is a beautiful lady and she deserves our honor and attention.
