      Democratic Congresswoman Dies of Cancer
      WASHINGTON (April 22) - Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald, a seven-term congresswoman from southern California, died early Sunday of cancer. She was 68. Millender-McDonald died at her home in Carson, said her chief of staff, Bandele McQueen. The congresswoman had asked for a four- to six-week leave of absence from the House last week to deal with her illness. McQueen couldn’t immediately provide details on what form of cancer Millender-McDonald had, but said she had been receiving hospice care. She represented a heavily Democratic southern California district that includes Compton, Long Beach and parts of Los Angeles. Source My condolences to Ms. Millender-McDonalds family.       Goodbye And Good Riddance The outgoing Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) has taken one last shot at an administration she has always held in contempt. Rep. McKinney has announced a bill in the House to begin the process of impeaching President George Bush. The legislation is purely symbolic, however, as incoming Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) says she won't entertain any motion to bring sanctions against the President, for real of wasting two years of Democratic congressional control on petty issues. McKinney, an Atlanta Democrat has had her share of negative news, making headlines when she struck a Capitol Hill police officer who asked her to present ID. With only hours left in the Congressional session, McKinney introduced legislation claiming the Commander in Chief violated his oath of office.
