Just a quick one, as time is sparse today. Bjarke Niemann of Spleen United has remixed the Green Concorde track Detroit, which the band is giving away for free. Still impatiently waiting for news on the release date of the band's sophomore album. UPDATE: According to Gaffa the album will be released late March/early April.+ Detroit (Niemann Remix)
The A New Band A Day Internet Monkey has been hard at work behind the scenes recently. Changes are afoot, and shortly, ANBAD will 'relaunch' (i.e. look a bit different, but not too different) with a whole host of 'new' and 'exciting' 'features' to scroll unexcitedly through before clicking on the link to The Onion. If you are one of the zillions of our lovely email-subscribing readers, have one las

It’s been a while since we last heard anything from the four lads in Danish alternative rock band Green Concorde and I’m probably not alone in my wait for a follow up to the (early) 2007 debut Ten Cities. Still there is no news on how the work is progressing or whether it’s actually moving forward at all, but the first song recorded for the album Flowers of Romance (originally posted for str
The Place de la Concorde is one of the major squares in Paris, France. It is located in the city’s eighth arrondissement, at the eastern end of the Champs-Élysées. The Place was designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel in 1755 as a moat-skirted octagon between the Champs-Élysées to the west and the Tuileries Gardens to the east. [...]
Place de la Concorde (former Revolution Square) is a strategic cross: you have at your disposal here lots of possibility: the Seine River, once crossed you are right in front the National Parliament, the Champs-Elysees which at the beginning start as a big garden, then turning in the famous international avenue with shops etc (ending at the Arc of Triomphe) or that other avenue leading to the Madeleine Church (without forgetting Rue de Rivoli which together with the Tuleries gardens bring you to the Louvre Museum).

The Place de la Concorde is a the largest square in Paris, it is situated between the Champs-Élysées and the Tuileries Gardens. On the square are two colorful fountains and the 3300 year old Obelisk of Luxor. From this square you can see the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.

... or maybe a headset? What abut the whole engine or a wing? Seriously, no kidding.Maybe the supersonic jetliner, a wonder machine of Anglo-French minds, has not been flying since 2003, but its parts will "fly" to different parts of the world at no less speed than the aircraft used to fly (FYI, it was 2625 km per hour). You see, a French auction has started accepting bids on hundreds of the Concorde components.60 pieces were sold on the auction's first day and the sales have attracted around five times the asking price. Prices are approximately in a 400 - 3,000 euro range. The funds raised from the auction will go to a museum. Most of the 20 built Concordes are in museums in London and Paris.
They're selling off bits of old Corcordes.
If ever there was no market for spare parts. If you're going to sell off things no one makes anymore, do it with Rover cars.
So, if you need a 1.2-ton landing gear, I know a man who can help you out.
I quite like the idea of buying a Concorde toilet. Yeah, it's small, but that odd suction thing would be great.
The Concorde's trademark needle nose will not be in the auction.
I guess Barry Manilow has already bought it.

“Men of vision designed this wonderful machine, men of passion built her, and, I hope that it will be said, men of skill and daring flew her” (Capt. Adrian Thompson, Concorde Pilot Last Heathrow - New York Flight)

tWAMi has remixed the track This Time by Danish alternative rock band Green Concorde and the new version is available for free from his re-designed webpage. I'm not at all familiar with the original version of the song, but I suspect that lots of synths and drums/beats (?) have been added to make it a bit more danceable. Anyway this is a fantastic and utterly catchy track, which hopefully will give both acts involved the attention they both fully deserve!!+ This Time (Remix)
