Were Nazism And Communism Equal In Horror?
The Confederation of European War Veterans(CEAC) passed a statement drawn up by the Estonian Frontline Soldier’s Association in which the two regimes of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union were equalized in terms of brutality and oppression. The statement received unanimous agreement and were sent on to the European Parliament. Estonian soldiers fought both for [...]

      Communism of Marx
I think its funny how most people who speak out against Communism, have never even read a single book, by a communist, much less the Communist Manifesto. The fact of the matter is, a lot of the economic policies established in the book would need serious updating, but are not works of stupidity or evil. In the 1840's, in a world ruled predominantly by oligarchy and monarchy, most economic policies outlined make plenty sense. In fact, many of our economic policies today mimic a sort of updated version of Marxism. It was also Marx, who spoke against child labor and believed in education for all children. (public schools)The lesson of the day? The evilness of a people, does not a bad or good idea make (and if you don't understand that there is nothing I have to say to you.)-Nut Job, la romant

'The debate over the historical record of communism simmers on in the European Union'
EU: Bloc Debates Crimes Of Communism, Revealing 'Old,' 'New' Divisions by Ahto Lobjakas   BRUSSELS -- Can communism be compared to Nazism? Does communism's record deserve as unequivocal a condemnation as that of Nazism? And should communism's modern-day adherents and apologists be rejected as firmly by Europe's political mainstream as those of Nazism? The debate over the historical record of communism simmers on in the European Union. Forced onto the bloc's agenda by its new ex-communist member states, the issue was most recently broached at a European Parliament debate in Strasbourg on April 21. Reflecting deep-seated divisions among member states and political camps, the parliament ultimately failed to agree on a common declaration. Some argued that charging communis

      Hillary’s Ties to Communism?

Owen’s ABC is more like Communism

      Islam and Communism
"As we have already submitted, Islam stands for all that is good, healthy and desirable in life. It is the religion for all times, generations and societies but as the Islamic world during the last four centuries has been in a state of constant depression, the portion of the Islamic law dealing with economic problems remained static. Why shouldn't we then adopt Islam as a creed to edify our souls and purify thoughts and embrace communism as the economic system to solve our economic problems as it would in no wise affect our social set-up or any aspect thereof. We shall thus be able not only to safeguard our morals, social traditions and customs but also have at the same time one of the most modern economic systems of the present times to-resolve our economic problems"The reasoning such a

Rumble: Gorbachev and Louis Vuitton. The end of communism as we knew it. Or not?
Apparently this ad has been around for a while, but I only noticed it yesterday, spread over two pages of the Alitalia inflight magazine: Former Soviet leader and USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev now makes publicity the French luxury label, Louis Vuitton. The ad shows Gorbachev in a car with a Vuitton bag at his side. The picture is rather dark, suggesting the gloomy ages of the Cold War and Communism. Gorbachev looks through the window at the Berlin Wall, depicted in the background. There is an interesting twist to the whole thing:Poking out of the bag is a publication with the headline (in Cyrillic): "The Murder of Litvinenko: They Wanted to Give Up the Suspect for $7,000.", referring to Alexander V. Litvinenko, the former KGB spy who died last November after being poisoned with a radioact

Review: In Denial: Historians, Communism and Espionage
In Denial: Historians, Communism and Espionage, John Earl Haynes & Harvey Klehr Publisher: Encounter Books; 2005 Genre: Historical Pages: 299 Rating: 4 stars There are two types of historians: traditional and revisionist. According to Haynes and Klehr, revisionist historians have dominated the area of Cold War history for too long. Among the crimes of the Cold War historians are denial, justification, and outright lies. After the opening of the Soviet Archives, it was released that the American Communist Party had more influence from Moscow than originally thought. Espionage was more rampant than people thought… perhaps, just maybe, McCarthy wasn’t on a wild witch hunt. Revisionist historians have since continued to deny horrors and influence, have mitigated events, and manipulate evidence to justify Stalin and espionage. However, I think that Harvey and Klehr would have had a more sound argument had they not come off sounding unprofessional in their direct usage of pe

Communism - Picking up the signs in the U.S.
The idea of the U.S. becoming a communist nation might not come as news to you, but I still feel it is worth writing about. Before I started researching and seeking opinions on communism in the United States, I noticed some characteristics that lead me to such interests. Now communism isn’t necessarily a bad system as long as it’s properly ran, but is the U.S. headed down the right side of the road? (more…)

Victims of communism finally rememberedNew statue in Washington will address West's 'moral blind spot'The 'Goddess of Democracy' featured by Chinese protesters in Tiananmen Square in 1989 is the model for a memorial in Washington, D.C., to victims of communism http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=11552 http://www.victimsofcommunism.org/ While memorials to victims of all kinds abound, the U.S. has had no place to teach current and future generations about the "murderous legacy" of communism – until now.A congressionally authorized "Memorial to the Victims of Communism" will be unveiled Tuesday in Washington, D.C., featuring a statue modeled on the "Goddess of Democracy" used by Chinese students who protested in Tiananmen Square in 1989The memorial will be located at the intersections of Massachusetts and New Jersey Avenues, about two blocks from Union Station and within view of the Capitol.A dedication ceremony is planned Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rep. Rich Lowry: Cuba, a suitable case for treatment:Michael Moore's sick new movie is a whitewash of Castro's communism, which has crushed his nation
IS all that ails the US health-care system that it's not run by a communist dictatorship? That has long been a premise of apologists for Fidel Castro who extol the virtues of medical care on his totalitarian island nation. Left-wing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore is reviving this Cold War relic of an argument in his new movie on health care, Sicko, which premieres in a few weeks and favourably compares the Cuban health care system with the US one. Moore ostentatiously took a few sick 9/11 workers to Cuba for care. "If they can do this," Moore told Time magazine, referring to the Cubans, "we (Americans) can do it." All that the Cuban Government has done, however, is run a decades-long propaganda campaign to convince credulous or dishonest people that its health-care system is worth emulating. These people believe - or pretend to believe for ideological reasons - that a dictatorship can crush a country's economy and spirit, yet still deliver exemplary medical care. Cuban health c

Yay! Let's celebrate. 1. 100,000,000 dead as a direct result of Communism. 2. Literally, billions more without freedom. 3. Who knows how many trillions of money, man hours, or whatever in lost productivity, lost dreams, etc. 4. Trillions spent fighting its spread. 5. North Korea. 'nuff said. Oh and saying it's unfair to talk about Russia and North Korea when discussing Communism is like saying it's unfair to talk about Hitler when discussing that other 20th century intellectual plague, fascism.

Indonesia seizes school books over communism fears
Officials seized almost 200 schoolbooks in Indonesia that fail to explicitly blame a bloody 1965 coup on the outlawed communist party, an official said Tuesday. Authorities insist the outlawed Indonesian Communist Party was behind the botched coup, during which six military generals were executed, triggering a backlash against Communists that left up to one million sympathizers dead.Historians and academics have since suggested that the military orchestrated the putsch to tighten its grip on power and wipe out communism that had been thriving in Indonesia.Academics have suggested right-wing groups were pressuring the government over the texts, concerned about fostering communist sympathy as well as anti-military sentiment in schools.

Blah, Blah Bush: Communism in Cuba should end when Castro dies
WASHINGTON, March 7 (Reuters) - Communist rule of Cuba should end when ailing leader Fidel Castro dies, U.S. President George W. Bush said as he prepared for a Latin American tour this week. Bush's trip is widely seen as offering a counterpoint to the populist appeal of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, whose nationalization plans he criticized. "I strongly believe that government-run industry is inefficient and will lead to more poverty," Bush said when asked about Chavez's nationalizations. "If the state tries to run the economy, it will enhance poverty and reduce opportunity." Bush also made clear he is keeping an eye on Cuba and its long-time leader. Castro, 80, was forced to temporarily hand power to his brother, Defense Minister Raul Castro, last July after stomach surgery. He mostly stayed out of view until a surprise live radio appearance last week. Castro's fate will be decided "by the Almighty," Bush said on Tuesday. "I don't know how long he's going to live but neverth
