Persian Cats - Making a Commitment
As longhaired cats became more and more popular in Europe, especially in England, British owners created clubs based on color. The blue longhairs were most popular in the late 1800's. Queen Victoria had a pair of colorful blue felines. The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy was formed in England in 1910. The recommended standards of cat breeds were drafted as well. At that time, they decided the longhaired felines known as longhairs, or Persians, would be known formally as longhairs. They dropped the name Persian. The Angora cat declined in popularity. This was probably due to cat lovers preferring the Persians' fuller coat and stockier build. The Angora's coat was thinner and they had a leaner build.People in the United States began obtaining longhaired cats in abundance from England. The

Dealing With Relationship Commitment Problems: How To Know If She Feels The Same Way About You?
So you have found the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with. The problem is, how do you know if she feels the same way about you? You may also be wondering if she's really the one for you. There are a few question you can ask to determine if the time is right to take the plunge: 1. How long have you been together? Every relationship has its own unique ebb and flow, but relationship experts have found that it usually takes about two years for a couple to fully commit to each other and begin what's called the "negotiation phase" of the relationship - the period in which you've both gotten to know each other so well that you're battling out what you will and won't live with while trying to hang onto your individual identities. Interestingly, statistics show that most couples get

      Commitment Is Key
It is not uncommon for those involved in marketing networks to network hop; starting out with one multi level marketing opportunity, they will eventually discard it in favor of another opportunity, and so on. It goes without saying that these folks will spend a lot of time, energy, and also money chasing a success that in the end will elude them. While walking away from a business opportunity is acceptable when you have given it your all and just could not make it work to your satisfaction, the fact that so many take this step makes it evident that there are other factors in play.Marketing networks, for the commitment shy, will never pay out to the extent that they hope, and by and large it is the amount of work that goes into the process that makes the entire idea daunting. Developing True Commitment to Financial Goals
By: Roshawn WatsonI once read a quote by W. H. Murray "Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to drawback, (and) always ineffectiveness." I think this quote really applies to wealth-building. Think about the billions of people who want wealth but the relatively few people who have it. Before you say that this is because of unjust "mean, greedy, rich people," ponder whether lack of commitment could have some role in this. One reason some of us do not commit ourselves to creating wealth is that we internally have a negative perspective about wealth. For example, we may..."fear that all our money will go to the government""fear the amount of work it will take to gain the wealth""fear that everyone is going to want a handout""fear that we will be robbed""fear that money will cor

Creating Organizational Commitment among Employees through Behavioral Change of Attitudes: Cognitive Dissonance as a Tool for Managers
Employee behavior, as any human behavior, derives from attitudes toward various subjects or objects. These attitudes are in turn a result of beliefs held by the employee. In order to understand how to create or change employee attitudes we must understand how an attitude is created and what affects it.The two main attitudes in organizational behavior are work satisfaction and organizational commitment. These two basic attitudes are of extreme importance to both organizations and managers. From a manager’s point of view the employee’s attitude towards organizational commitment is more important as it directly affects employee productivity.A person’s beliefs and values create an attitude toward a subject or object which is basically a positive or negative approach towards it. Attitudes in turn affect behavior. For example, if a person believes that “work is no fun – work is a responsibility” then his attitude towards organizational commitment would be positive. Men Who Are Afraid To Make A Commitment
We often help our patrons with their lifestyle problems and, of course, two most popular categories for asking questions are relationships and health/fitness. She wrote, "I am dating a wonderful man who has two teenage children. My children are young adults. He has been separated/divorced for about 2 years. I have been divorced 7 years and my children have met my date. We have been dating 9 months. How long should we wait before introducing the relationship to his children? His divorce was final 2 months ago. He has dated others - non seriously. He is an avoider by nature. Is his time up?" You write that he has dated others and that is definitely a red flag. When men say that they are not serious about other dates, they are essentially lying. If you are dating someone for nine months, there is no justification for him dating other women

Organizational commitment is very influenced by organizational design. In order to create commitment in the organization managers must create a suitable environment for it to evolve. In principal manager who wish to create a suitable environment for commitment must strive to adopt characteristics of an organizational design which reduces class identity and increases company identity. There are several, independent, ways to achieve higher levels of company Identity. In this article I will discuss some of the most common and effective ones.1. Fine hierarchy – The opposite of manager/ employee hierarchy is a type of hierarchy which is understated. A message of self efficacy should be relayed: “Everyone can become a manager”. As every message this message should be composed of three elements: The source, the message and the target audience. Commitment comes with the M word
Finding a good mortgage now a days is a pain, my brothers was a pain, my parents was a pain. Well back in “those” days things had to be done by hand, everything from looking for one to comparing. Then you get the person who Remortgages their house, hoping to get a good deal. I now understand the benefits of mortgages, I have started to save for my own so I can finally get my own place in the near future (with good rates) so I save money on renting and it actually gives you something to show. The problem is finding the right lender and comparing them to the competition, lets face it the market is in trouble slowly spreading across the world because of America (sorry guys), it hit England a few weeks back when Northern Rock got into trouble, some are forecasting a market crash, house prices falling and everyone being out of pocket because of it. These will be sad days for many but will be good for those who have been saving for them, CHEAP HOUSES.. well I don’t understand how it al

A Commitment to Take the Road Less Traveled
Aside from the graduation scheduled on October 12, Friday, eight Brothers (include me, please :)) had just the graduation ceremony at Eucharistiana Center this afternoon., we may call it Closing Ceremony, and yet the same, right? For 11 days of lecture and training with the Eucharistiana Center, in cooperation with Marist Asia-Pacific Center, we were able to finish it happily with many experiences and learning to share to other people. What we learned from Eucharistiana would be different. In this Institution, we experienced dealing with special children with special needs. I thought I was lucky enough that I can take care of myself. But here are the children with down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and mental retardation who taught us to be courageous and share life to others. It was not us, or let us say me, who taught them or be with them. They were the ones who journeyed with me for many days. What would you feel if a person who is bounded by the wheelchair will teach you how

Calming the Fears of the Home Buying Process: Addressing Commitment
First of all, we admit it, home buying and selling is scary. You know it, we know it, and we admit it. The big question is, what are we scared of?What are we scared of?We have found that there are about three things that probably scare you most about buying a home. Our hope over the next few days is that we will be able to give you some behind-the-scenes secrets that will help you deal with the 3 things that scare you most about buying a home.So what are these three things? We have identified them as, first, cost, second, commitment, and, third, people. (We tried, but we couldn't come up with three c's.)Second, we want to address commitment. We all know that women like to stereotype men as having a fear of commitment – but when it comes to buying a home, we’re all susceptible. Buying a home usually means committing money and time (at least a year – usually more like 5-10 years) to being in one spot. The behind-the-scenes secret to dealing with the fear of commitment is in buying

More on Pritchard commitment and Tuesday links
      - I’ve noticed a few comments on this blog and on various IU message boards across the Web asking what effect, if any, Tom Pritchard’s commitment to IU will have on Tyler Zeller and Kevin Jones. First off, I don’t think Pritchard’s commitment is a sign that IU isn’t going to land Zeller or Jones. I’m not saying that they’ll land either guy because I think it’s still totally up in the air. But I think some of the comments trying to link the Pritchard commitment to the sentiment that we’re not getting Zeller or Jones are off base. Rest assured, both guys are at the top of IU’s wishlist. As far as the scholarship numbers go, the Hoosiers appear to be fine in that department. D.J. White, A.J. Ratliff, Mike White and Lance Stemler are all seniors. You’ll also have Kyle Taber’s scholarship freed up after the season. (Taber has Ben Allen’s scholarship for the upcoming season.) And one has to think there’s a go

Renewing Wedding Vows Can Really Strengthen A Couples' Commitment!
So you are thinking about renewing wedding vows but are not sure about what to do next or even whether it is a good idea? There are a lot of things to consider: why should you renew your vows; the etiquette of renewing wedding vows; who are renewing their vows; and what you can say to renew or reaffirm your vows, are just a few of the questions that are probably flowing through your head. Why don't we just pick one and start there?Just Who Are Renewing Wedding Vows?In these days of high divorce rates there are still many people who stay together long enough to consider renewing vows. Even amongst the celebrities there are some who have done so for a variety of reasons. For instance Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne renewed their vows on New Years Eve 2002 for two reasons. Firstly they had made it to 20 years of marriage in the mad cap world of rock and roll and secondly because Sharon had just survived a serious bout with colon cancer. They are not the only celebrities to have renewed their vow

2009 forward Derek Elston talks IU commitment
Tipton’s Derek Elston is first member of Kelvin Sampson’s 2009 recruiting class. Inside the Hall recently caught up with the 6′8″ forward for a quick Q & A. Inside the Hall: Why did you decide that IU was the right place for you? Derek Elston: I wanted to stay close to home and my friends and family. I just knew that playing for the Hoosiers was the place for me. ITH: What was it about the way IU recruited you that set them apart from other schools? DE: The coaching staff, definitely. They treated me like I was already there, like I was already a Hoosier. ITH: Position wise, how do yourself fitting in at the college level? DE: I’ll probably play the 3 or the 4, like a wing man. If I get any bigger I’d like to play in the post, but 3 or 4, definitely. ITH: You’ve visited Bloomington several times. What do you like most about the campus? DE: I really like the area and it’s probably the best campus I’ve ever seen. It’s really

I just got finished talking with Dave Telep, the National Recruiting Director for Scout.com, about a variety of IU recruiting topics. I encourage you to check out Dave’s work at Scouthoops.com. Over the next few weeks I’ll have quite a bit of information and quotes from my talk with Mr. Telep, but for now, here’s what he had to say about Derek Elston’s commitment to IU: “We don’t have a tremendously long book on Derek Elston, but in the limited viewings that I saw of him I liked that he was a guy that was willing to stick his nose in there, fight for rebounds, had enough skill where he could play facing the basket and just really had the look and feel of a solid Big Ten prospect. He made our Top 75 and we’re talking about a guy who had great rebounding numbers, solid scoring numbers and you expect both to go up in his junior year. He clearly was a priority recruit for a lot of Big Ten programs. I think its a very good commitment and I’m g

Health research — a diminishing commitment
The investment in the health of a nation should not lose out to the prosecution of foreign wars. Yet that seems to be what has been happening in the US under the Bush Administration. This article at Huffington Post traces the investment in scientific research over the past number of years and explains its impact on the health and longevity of Americans. Today, Americans will live on average 30 years longer than they did a century ago. This is due to the triumph of public health interventions such as sanitation, improvements in hygiene and nutrition, clean water supplies, measures to reduce infant and maternal mortality, safety regulations, and advances from scientific research including vaccinations, antibiotics, and new technology to effectively diagnose, treat and prevent diseases. But that investment has been diminished under the Bush Administration with attendant threats: Alarmingly, the effects of significant decreases in funding for biomedical research are coming at a ti

      What Happened to Commitment?
We’ve talked here many times about how to get people into the church.  I was wondering about how to keep them.  Let me see if I can explain where this is coming from and what I’m trying to figure out.   I work for an Episcopal church during the day, and over the last three years things have slowing taken a turn for the worst.  Of course you have the whole ordaining of a gay bishop thing, and then the pastor miss handled some things badly, and he was removed.  Now the church which was once quite large is slowly losing people.   (In some cases its not so slowly.)  As I watch this church I am noticing something that many in the church today seem to be missing.  A dedication and commitment to the body that God has placed them into.  There is a prayer service, a contemporary service and a tradtional service.  The people who are leaving and abandoning the church are those in the contemporary service.  I can’t say they are leaving because of a spiritual d

      Endesa reinforces its environmental commitment
Endesa, Spain´s largest utility, has announced it is set to build that country’s biggest solar energy plant in San Roque (Cadiz, Andalusia). Company officials estimate that the 20.1 megawatt pv solar plant will save 13,300 tons of CO2 emissions a year. The decision to build a plant using this type of technology meets environmental criteria as these facilities produce no greenhouse gases whatsoever. Cádiz Originally uploaded by Saul GM The location is ideal not only because of the amount of solar radiation it receives but also because photovoltaic cells work better near the coast, where average summer temperatures are cooler, company officials said in a statement. The project is part of Endesa’s plan for development of clean energies, which proposes 100 megawatts of new solar energy in the next five years. The first stage of the plant will have 12.3 megawatts of installed power covering 91 acres. MILLIONAIRE SECRETS - The Commitment Of Sylvester Stallone
THE COMMITMENT OF SYLVESTER STALLONESurely, one of the best examples of the power of commitment and how 'doing whatever it takes will get you what you want' is the story of Sylvester Stallone. At his peak, Stallone was one of the most popular and highly paid stars in Hollywood, commanding a fee of US$20 million per movie. was he just born under a lucky star? Was he naturally talented actor? Was he at the right place at the right? Hardly. He was someone who seemed to have all the odds stacked up against him.His family was so poor that his mother had to give birth to him on the doorsteps of a school. A blotched delivery by students caused a facial nerve to be severed, leaving him paralyzed on the right side of his face. As a result, Stallone had to live the rest of his life with slurred speech. He even had to deal with having drooping lower lip and being made fun of because of his name 'Sylvester' (associated with the Looney Tunes cat). Despite all these limitations, young Stallone d

Commitment is Key to Playing Expert Guitar
While it’s absolutely true that musical talent is generally either there or it’s not, when it comes to guitarists, developing screaming fingers is something they all have to work at. If a guitarist plays with their heart, has some innate talent and a desire to truly practice, screaming fingers are a possibility. To be able to take a guitar and play hot licks like a pro, however, some conditioning will need to come into play. Screaming fingers are, after all, made and not born. This means anyone who expects to pick up a guitar and play like a pro within a few hours is probably fooling themselves. The process of learning will require some time, patience and practice. To ensure the best development of screaming fingers for guitar players, a novice player will need to set his or her sights on a few things. Number one in all of it will be a desire to learn to play the guitar and play it well. In order to have fingers scream across the strings like they are on auto pilot, it

ST. STEPHEN CHARITABLE COMMITMENT AND EVANGELIZATIONVATICAN CITY, JAN 10, 2007 (VIS) - In this morning's general audience, held in the Paul VI Hall in the presence of 7,000 people, Benedict XVI dedicated his catechesis to the first Christian martyr, St. Stephen. "St. Stephen," said the Pope, "is the most representative figure of a group of seven companions," who concerned themselves with charitably serving the needs of members of the Christian community, whether of Jewish or of Greek origin. "Tradition sees in this group the origins of the future ministry of deacons," upon whom the Apostles "laid their hands," a gesture that in the Old Testament "has above all the significance of transmitting an important task," said the Pope. "That this was an important action, to be undertaken following due discernment, becomes clear from a reading of the First Letter of Paul to Timothy: 'Do not be hasty in laying on of hands, nor participate in another man's sins'."
