As in several previous SuperBowls, the biggest single advertiser at this Superbowl XLI was Anheuser-Busch, with nine spots. Their Bud Light brand alone fielded six 30’ commercials. Now, of course, Bud Light is already the market leader of this category. And this may be the reason why they seemed so complacent with their Superbowl advertising.Let us look at Bud Light advertising at this Superbowl
Lately I haven’t really been paying attention to many other war simulator games besides perhaps Metal Gear Solid 4 (You all might know by now how I feel about the game). However, recently I’ve been hearing about this new game called Battlefield: Bad Company by Electronic Arts. Though it may look like your [...]

I hate them. Those anti-tobacco commercials of ” the magic number” and ” must’ve been a typo” or the guy singing with a hole in his throat are WAY annoying. They are on all the time and I just mute the TV now, I am so annoyed by it. For being a smoker, I can [...]

We’re aware that we write about the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer games much too much, especially considering that it’s a niche series representing such a hardcore genre. But after playing Shiren the Wanderer DS, Chunsoft’s remake of the original Super Famicom game and the first Shiren game brought stateside, it’s hard [...]

Even though this will probably be one of those watch once and forget videos, it’s still pretty funny. Gotta love the low budget, nothing to do with R&B jingles. And one thing I want to know is where the hell is Midwest City.

So it wasn’t too long ago when Max Factory & Good Smile Company announced their figma toyline and released their Yuki Nagato figure from the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. I guess in order to generate some hype, a couple of short commercials were released on Japanese television showing the articulation of the figure. [...]
Most commercials are annoyances I fast forward through on my DVR/PVR/TiVo, whatever you call it. 80% of the time the commercials are trying to get you to eat a cheeseburger drink a softdrink or get a bank account and those commercials are pretty much lame, borring and all follow the same formula. On the other [...]

From time to time I find myself reciting old commercials. It's almost like their parables. Each holds a lesson. Here are six that have stuck with me.1. You know you love Ernest P. Whorl. We all do. We all hate Sprite though. Kind of rips a hole in the space time continuum, no? 2. Is there a little Plumper in you? 3. The Powerglove is now just a fashion statement. It used to represent somethin

This month I thought I'd show some VERY rare Ford TV commercials from 1957. What makes these so rare is that they're in color. It is probably safe to say that most Americans only saw these in black and white, as color TV was still a very new medium. Few shows were broadcast in color and even fewer people could afford them.Limited production for the '57 Ford, where the assembly line was tested (for
Am I the only person that is totally grossed/freaked out by the new series of Orken extermination commercials? You know, the ones with the 7 ft bugs that come to the door and asks if they can come in using the creepiest voice since that guy who narrates City Confidential on A&E???

These two are my all time top favorite commercials. The McCain Cool Quenchers “Arm Wrestle” / “I Love You” commercial is priceless, with the little girls expression and the way she swallows her last gulp as she says “I love you”:
The second is the perfect commercial, because it combines all the elements for a great [...]

I watch a lot of TV and even with the wonder of Tivo I still manage to catch my fair share of the commercials. Lately, there have been two that I've actually rewinded and watched over and over again. Amazingly, they're both for cell phone carriers. Whoa. The Mother's Day Commerical From AT&TIt makes me want to buy a phone, buy my mother a phone and do horrible things to flowers. That's a lot for a 30 second spot. The Firefighter Commercial From SprintI laughed out loud the first time I saw this. It doesn't make me want a Sprint phone, but I do want to wear a fire helmet. Mission Accomplished.
Women will LOVE this commercial! This is new territory for the Boston-based cult running shoe company. New Balance is the runner’s shoe. Traditionally, New Balance has left big ads and big name athletes to Nike and Adidas and focused on low-key marketing. But that was then, and this is now. New Balance is embarking on a big ad campaign to expand their brand. Without a doubt, the SuperBowl is this countries singe biggest day for Advertisers. This years SuperBowl spots are running a cheap $2.7 million for 30 seconds. With companies paying such large amounts of money for these ads, you would think everyone would be a hit. But that's not the case with 2008. In fact, many people are saying 2008 SuperBowl commercials may be the worse in years.Godaddy stated back in August that they would not be airing a SuperBowl commercial this year. However, it looks like they changed their minds as they will have a SuperBowl commercial directing people to go their website and view a racy Danica Patrick video. Godaddy says Fox rejected the ad because it's too racy. I don't think their current commercial is all that great. If I'm Godaddy, I'm getting Danica Patrick
Until 1990, Ronald McDonald and the gang dominated the kid-friendly fast food commercial racket. However, that changed when some new mascots emerged: The Burger King Kids Club Gang. This group of kids was even more PC than Captain Planet's Planeteers. Burger King was determined to cover every demographic. Here's a rundown:Boomer, the tomboy: the jock of the group, who always wielded a hockey stick and never took off her roller blades. I could make a joke about her eventually replacing her blades with Birkenstocks, but she seemed pretty enamored with Lingo in one of the commercials I posted... I.Q., the stereotypical nerd: Pocket protector? Check. Glasses? Check. Wild hair? Check. Huge vocabulary? Check.Jaws, the token black guy: his shtick was his incredible appetite. His only other memora

I’m not really into artsy videos or commercials, but when I took a look at some of Sony’s recent commercials, I gotta commend them at the originality and creativity of their ads. The first most recent one is something entitled “Foam City”, whereby Sony transformed a part of Miami into a foam-filled wonderland. [...]
Some time ago Motodisiac showed me this commercial. It was a KTM Super Duke 990 commercial that KTM had to take down from their site as it did not promote the right riding attitude and style. When you see it you will probably understand why.

I don't retain a lot of my dreams when I wake up. I wish I did.Last ight I had my standard set of weird draeams. Convoluted buildings, driving around, new places, etc... and then about 75% of the way thru the night I had a commercial.I distinctly remember a political commercial for Hillary Clinton. Very "We are the world" music, positive, fun imagery. Very humanizing. Really attacked some of the issues that have been giving Obama an edge. And even unconscious one very distinct thought popped into my head.WHERE THE F* DID THAT COME FROM?It was amazingly jarring. Now.. I did see Cabaret last night. So the seeds of uncomfortable political change may have been buried in there. But this was obscenely detailed. So.. either my brain took a wrong turn in albuquerque or it's time to start siding wi

In the late 80s and early 90s there seemed to be an ongoing trend in many commercials: a group of kids are being bored to death by a stodgy old fuddy-duddy, then one of them breaks out some sugary snack and suddenly, it's party central. This commercial for Sprinkled Chips Ahoy (do they even make those anymore?) is a classic example. You gotta love the generic rock music and hideous 1990 ensembles these kids are sporting. Anybody recognize the teacher? Bueller? Bueller?
Have You Notice Them Lately? This new faces can be seen everyday on our TV sets, the first ad is about a cute boy and his father munching Oreo cookies, which later revealed that the two of them are in front of a laptop and just using a webcam. It's night time for the son and daytime for the dad. The boy is Mauritian, but living in Australia according to a commenter. Cute! The second guy is of course, Pinoy! I don't know for you but i found him cute, he looks likes (a much fresher and younger) Danilo Barrios. Love his teeth! The commercial provides us a Youtube feel, which adds a sense to the video contest they are hosting, which the winner will be a star in his own commercial. This ad features Itchyworm's "Akin Ka Na Lang" Unluckily i don't have infos on this guy.See full videos of these two
"Hey now kids come gather 'round,See what just skipped into town!"Ah, Skip-it. Every little girl's favorite recess pastime... assuming anybody was actually willing to lug the damn thing to and from school. As the commercial says, "the very best thing of all is the counter on the ball". That's probably the only real incentive for buying a Skip-it... that and the pretty colors. Now that I'm older, I realize just how big of a rip-off this toy is. If I ever have kids, I think I'll just spring for a jump rope instead.Skip It! (1988) - CommercialUploaded by joecool85
We hate it when in the middle of a dramatic teleserye or the climax of an action series, or in the last 2 minutes of a basketball game and even in the results show of American Idol, we are being interrupted by tv commercials. Talk about killing the momentum.
But, these Top 10 TV commercials listed [...]
I've written before on sticky ideas, specifically unexpectedness and simplicity, from the Heath brothers book, "Made to Stick." To refresh your memory, the acronym SUCCESs spells out the six attributes of ideas that stick in people's minds: Simplicity, Unexpectedness, Concreteness, Credibility, Emotions, and Stories.I recently noticed these two brilliant commercials by Farmers Insurance, advertising their HelpPoint service. These videos have most of the features of a sticky idea, the primary ones for me being:1. Unexpectedness -- could you have anticipated how these would end?2. Emotions -- they start out silly and end up sad. The one about the house fire chokes me up every time.3. Stories -- each one tells a story, but there's no happy ending.(If you can't see the video, view it on YouTub

In celebration of the US release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl I’ve gathered TV commercials from all three installments in the series. This is hands down the best TV ad for any Nintendo game, in my opinion. It barely shows gameplay footage, but it doesn’t need to. The guys in suits are hilarious and the music fits perfectly with the violence.I don’t even remember this commercial, but that’s probably because it’s so lame. There’s no fun or excitement here, just a guy looking like a dork. If you take away the brief gameplay video you are left with nothing that has to do with Smash Bros. What the hell?I like the two Japanese guys, but I really wish Nintendo of America would bring back the guys in suits from the N64 days. Also, the guys playing Brawl with the Wii controllers and nunchu

Many of our customers are non-native speakers of English who have studied English for years but often have difficulty communicating fluently. Much of this problem originates from not listening and practicing English in colloquial settings. One great method to practice colloquial English is to simply watch commercials--that's right! Just watch commercials and practice repeating what you are hearing. Additionally you might just be entertained. I have included a link below to a website: www.hulu.com that has a collection of all of the Super Bowl commercials from this year.Enjoy!
If anything has remained unchanged from my childhood, it's the fact that most red-blooded American kids are treated to a Happy Meal every once in awhile. And McDonalds has always been quick to pick up on the latest fads and capitalize as much as possible. The following videos include Happy Meal toys that I myself once owned. Before watching these, let's have a brief moment of silence for those characters that are no longer with us: Grimace, Birdie, the Hamburglar, the Happy Meal Guys, and the French Fry Kids. Here's a commercial featuring toys from Super Mario Bros. 3. I had the springy Mario. I actually remember the day I got that. We went to the park afterwards and I saw a dead frog. Pretty eventful day in the life of a six year-old.Fraggle Rock. I always liked it, but I didn't get to watch

Pepsi is known for having some pretty interesting commercials. In the early 90s alone there were more different Pepsi commercials than I could count, maybe even more than there are today, and they were ALWAYS on. You couldn't escape them if you tried. Maybe this is why I prefer Coke.Does the "Chill Out" hand gesture ring a bell? In the summer of 1991, Pepsi ran a series of "Summer Fun" commercials in which people on the beach (including Bo Jackson, Dr. Ruth, and Gilbert Gottfried) did that inane hand thing to the song "California Sun" by The Dictators (famously covered by The Ramones). My group at day camp actually used that commercial as the basis for our skit/dance type thing at Parents Night. The skit consisted of us doing typical beach activities to "California Sun". We made a giant Pe
The Game Boy was challenged for its handheld crown many times, but it ate those other portable systems for breakfast. Here are two ads for the Sega Game Gear, a superior handheld that just couldn’t knock Nintendo’s black and white beast off the top.Say, isn’t that fat kid Ethan Suplee, the guy from My Name is Earl? Sega compared themselves to Nintendo all the time, and here they are suggesting Game Boy players are retarded. Take that, Mario!I don’t know what the deal with that lady is, but she seems to be coke’d up. Did you catch her Psycho Crusher-like spin attack? Perhaps a side effect from playing fruity Game Gear games. No wonder this handheld failed.
Honestly speaking, the best part of Super Bowl is the commercials time. You get to see the best and latest commercials of all time. Lots of people are watching the game and that makes it the golden time. That means it is the most expensive commercials that you’ll ever watch. Here are some of the best commercials, enjoy.
Today, I thought I'd post some of my favorite commercials that aired when I was a kid.First, I would like to express my disappointment at not being able to find the British Knights Dymacel commercial that used to air during Double Dare. I really liked the song. This first one is still one of my favorites. Sing with me: "three pieces, two pieces, one pieces, Reese's Pieces."Because of this next commercial, the sentence "Bubble Tape: it's six feet of bubble gum for you - not them" became the bane of my parents' existence. Sheesh, that ad wasn't lying...And finally, I present a Whatchamacallit commercial. Catchy, n'est pas?
