Top Reasons Commenting is Good For Bloggers
Please try this. For the next week make an effort to comment on more blogs. Each day post more comments than the last, on more blogs. Comment well, not just “ditto”. Add something of value, your own thoughts. So what was all that about? I don’t think we comment enough and I put that down to bloggers not realising the benefits. Here are the benefits as I see them, let me know if I miss any: It’s the right thing to do - people complain about not enough comments on their own blog but don’t take enough time to comment on others. We all like some attention or an occasional pat on the head for a job well done. Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself!Make friends and influence people - Blogging is partly a networking activity. People are more likely to link to you (or more

      Formula for Effective Commenting
In my two years of experience as a blogger, leaving comments in other people’s blogs is a very important part of blogging, especially if you’re just starting your blog. Comments, as all of us bloggers know, are the life and blood of a blog besides traffic and subscriber count. It’s a sign that there’s activity going on inside your blog. Without it, people will easily think that your blog is already dead. Take this blog for example. When my post doesn’t have any comment at all, it just means one thing. I didn’t make my usual rounds of leaving comments to my favorite blogs (which is becoming quite often these hectic days). For bloggers, the habit of leaving comments was designed to convey any or all of the following: your interest in the written article, your interest in the blogg

Commenting in blogs is an effective way to get most targeted traffic. Along with a link back from that blog, you will be getting traffic through that comment. Recently after Google considering the "nofollow" tag to reduce spamming, there has been a decrease in the commenting in blogs. But actually there is an unknown fact that even though Google does not index links with "nofollow" tags, but the remaining search engines will consider links even with those tags. I'm working to get this problem fixed soon, but in the meantime just click the yellow-green circles to comment. For those whose browsers don't show the circles, just place your mouse's arrow between the post's time and the envelope icon and click. The comments page should upload immediately thereafter. Business Blogs Worth Reading & Commenting On
I’m a big fan of reading and commenting on other blogs as a way to network online with an eye toward building readership for your own blog. While blogs on technology and politics abound, it’s tough to find good business blogs; especially ones with a large enough readership to expect that your target audiences might actually be reading them. It’s been my experience that the best place to find business blogs is not the blog directories but the websites of major newspapers and magazines. It makes sense. We’ve all heard the stories about how circulation numbers are down. I can’t think of a better way to stay relevant. Not only are newspapers and magazines finding and reporting the news, they are using blogs to enable readers to create more content by participating in the process. So, w

OpenID means that people can leave authenticated comments on your blog using popular services like WordPress.com, LiveJournal, and AOL Journals. The benefits are that it will probably end comment spoofing and it is a quite near feature on its own. It will also help to fight with un-welcomed comments in a way, as the comments will be authenticated as I already mentioned.

Lynn Sinclair from Animal Ovation just sent me this link where you can directly leave a comment at Blogger to let them know what you think about the recent deletion of the username and URL field in the comment window. At first glance, it looks like the option they’re proposing will solve the problem. But it’s still only half a solution. Because it still doesn’t allow for domain name blogs. For instance, even though my blog platform is WordPress, I own the domain name. That means that I cannot click on the WordPress sign-in option to sign in. Nor can anyone else on any of the other platforms if they also own their own domains. Please consider clicking on over to leave a comment to let Blogger know that it’s important to the continued free flow of blog conversation to reinstate the username and URL field.

In the ongoing discussion on what are good ways to measure the success of our blogs, one of Kathy Purdy's readers, Katie from Gotta Garden, said this; I don’t know that I’d use the amount of comments either…if only because I read many more blogs than I comment on. I simply don’t have the time (I’m a slow writer!) to comment on them all…surely, I’m not alone in that. No, Katie. You are certainly not alone in that. Try to leave your URL in the form of keyword/s e.g. SEO instead of just URL e.g. http://seo-hub.blogspot.com/ as search engines tend to give a higher value for backlinks that are like the former as compared to the the latter. However, more importantly you should try to leave your URL on websites that have high page rank. There are many free tools and websites out there that allow you to check a website's page rank. One very important step in search engine optimization is to increase your website's link popularity, i.e. the number of websites out there linking to your website (backlinks). There're many ways to increase your website's link popularity and one of the ways is simply to comment on other websites. Many websites, especially blogs out there allow you to leave comment on their websites. Simply comment on these websites and leave your website URL on them to increase your website's link popularity. However, there are a few important pointers to take note when leaving comments on other websites. When you leave your URL on other websites' comment section, check whether the backlink is a direct link or a redirect link. A direct link is more valuable than a redirect link, thus you would want to focus your effort on commenting websites that offer direct backlink. To check whether a website offers direct backlink, simply place your mouse over any URL left by the previous comment and see wheth

One advantage is that it is quick and easy for readers to respond to your posts especially as no email address or registration is needed. Linebuzz - a novel approach to commenting
When I discovered LineBuzz , I was immediately compelled to try it out. I think this novel application, which went into beta yesterday, has the potential to be a real winner within the blogsphere.LineBuzz will let your blog readers add comments inline. How it works.Readers of your blog can highlight any post text and hit on a "Comment Inline" button (which would usually be best placed in a sidebar). This pops up a window where they can add a comment. The comments are then displayed in a box under the "Comment Inline" button. Text that has been selected for commenting is underlined when your page next reloads. GhostDoc helps with Commenting your Code
<summary>  GhostDoc is a free add-in for Visual Studio that automatically  generates XML documentation comments for C#. Either by using   existing documentation inherited from base classes or   implemented interfaces, or by deducing comments from name and  type of e.g. methods, properties or parameters.</summary> .NET languages like C# and VB.NET have a nifty little feature called XML comments that enable the developer to add comments about properties and methods in the code. Later, the compiler can gather these comments along with other information and generate an XML file. The XML file in turn can be used by tools like NDoc and Sandcastle to build professional grade documentation for code. Once in place, the whole process can be automated to create documenting with every build. This is all well and good but you still have to write the darn comments. Here's GhostDoc comes in. It can give you a springboard to get you going by using existing d

      Commenting Moderated Again
I am moderating the comment section again--although it is a gigantic pain in the rear. But , and god only knows why, this blog has been targeted by the folks who favor the retro white bed sheet wizard look.It pains me to do this, and not only because I don't like the chore of going through all the comments, but it is a lot nicer just to let folks put in their two cents worth in real time. I also don't like censoring, and that even includes bleeping out Jenny. If she would just express her opinions briefly, and somewhat succinctly, and remain more or less on topic, I wouldn't really mind.It would also help if she was a tiny bit cooler. But, the stuff is just sooooooo spammy. It obviously turns off others who might want to comment and engage in an intelligent discussion, at those times my stuff warrants intelligent discourse. So, until Jenny and her friends can learn to adapt to the pretty lenient rules around here, I will, for the sake of everyone's sanity, keep the comment restrict

      Is anyone having problems commenting?
I was just contacted by another blogger who told me that she left a comment on one of my posts but was wondering why I didn’t respond. Believe me, its not on purpose! I did not get any comment from her - odd no? So, are you having problems commenting on any posts? Are there any comments that I should be responding to, but have not? My email address is under the Contact page, so if you don’t hear from me, do drop me a line, k? Thanks! ParisB

Commenting Policy - Spammers Give Up
Just a minute of your time to address leaving comments on Ja Kel Daily Dot Com.  I am aware that there are several reasons in which blog readers’ view and use comment sections of perspective blogs. Every blogger has their own set of standards of what is and is not acceptable on their blog, some may allow all comments, others may have language standards and some do not allow signature links etc.  My standards up front; I allow all legitimate comments, signatures with links, express your opinions and do not allow links to pornographic related sites.   Comments– The most important aspect of Ja Kel Daily Dot Com.  You are the customer and are always right in most cases.  Without your comments I do not have an interested audience, so why should I blog in the first place.  Please comment whether you are a first time reader or have been coming here for quite some time. Spam – I have Akismet spam filter in place which automatically catches the majority of spam and some times

Commenting on Blogs - the Etiquette
It is accepted that comments at other people's blogs can produce a surge of relevant visits to your own sites, but new bloggers are wary of being accused of 'spamming'. I find that on my dog's blog other bloggers - canine or otherwise - visit and leave friendly comments. On business oriented blogs poeple are a little more guarded in their views. If you work on Blogger, your comment will

If you are having trouble commenting...
Don't worry you are not doing any thing wrong, blogger is being a bugger. I have posted on their help site to see if someone will come to my rescue. I am getting impatient....But I just want you to know I am aware of the problem and I hope it will be fixed soon. You can always email me at lrlwreath at gmail dot com =)))UPDATE:This is a bit confusing but it does work...sigh... Comments - Temporary Fix I know there are problems commenting on this blog. I've let Blogger know about the problem, and they are supposedly trying to figure it out. I found a temporary solution:Right click on the comments link and Open Link In New WindowIn the address bar, change the first part of the URL from http://www.blogger.com/... to https://www2.blogger.com/... (when you get the error message, just put a 2 behind the www keeping the same address)Then stand on your head, hold one arm in the air, and kick your legs then all should be
