WESTMINSTER LARGER CATECHISMQ. 119. What are the sins forbidden in the fourth commandment?A. The sins forbidden in the fourth commandment are, all omissions of the duties required,[1] all careless, negligent, and unprofitable performing of them, and being weary of them;[2] all profaning the day by idleness, and doing that which is in itself sinful;[3]and by all needless works, words, and thoughts, about our worldly employments and recreations.[4][1] Ezekiel 22:26. Requirements of the Fourth Commandment
WESTMINSTER LARGER CATECHISMQ. 116. What is required in the fourth commandment?A. The fourth commandment requireth of all men the sanctifying or keeping holy to God such set times as he hath appointed in his Word, expressly one whole day in seven; which was the seventh from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, and the first day of the week ever since, and so to continue to the end of the world; which is the Christian sabbath,[1] and in the New Testament called The Lord’s day.[2][1]Deuteronomy 5:12-14. Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.Genesis 2:2-3.

      Eleventh Commandment
During a recent staff meeting in Heaven, God, Moses, and Saint Peter concluded that the behavior of Ex-President Clinton has brought about the need for an eleventh commandment. They worked long and hard in a brain-storming session to try to settle on the wording of the new commandment, because they realized that it should have the same style, majesty and dignity as the original ten. They began their brain-storming and came up with the 11th.After many revisions, they finally agreed that the eleventh commandment should be:“Thou shalt not comfort thy rod with thy staff.”

Blog Party and the Eleventh Commandment
This blog party is sooo much fun! As of this posting, the list of participants are up to 405! Yes, four hundred and five, and it's only the first day of the week long party! I hope to visit all of the participants, but my husband would probably schedule a marital counseling if I do that. Holy Guacamole - 405 and the list is still going!I like what I read at " An Ordinary Mom" blog today and so I am posting it here as my reminder. It's the 11th commandment in her house, and now in my house too: “Thou shalt attend to the needs of thy family and to the needs of thy household before satisfying thy blogging addiction.”Thanks for the reminder An Ordinary Mom - you're not ordinary at all!
