Here's an interesting hack that was featured on the Make blog. It involves removing the UV filter coating from a pair of glasses simply by polishing them. Warning don't try this with a new pair of glasses!As Jason (hack author) puts it:The lenses in my favorite pair of glasses are getting to be about a year or two old, and it's getting to the point where I can barely see through them. So I received this great eggplant melton wool and this red flannel coating from Gorgeous Fabrics the other day. I put 5" squares in the washer and dryer. They came out minimally changed. The melton looks no different from the original and didn't shrink. The flannel coating shrunk about 1/4" in width and length. It got a little thicker too but there is hardly any difference.
