So I received this great eggplant melton wool and this red flannel coating from Gorgeous Fabrics the other day. I put 5" squares in the washer and dryer. They came out minimally changed. The melton looks no different from the original and didn't shrink. The flannel coating shrunk about 1/4" in width and length. It got a little thicker too but there is hardly any difference.
