It would be nice if the situation in Iraq could fit into a nice little soundbite. There’s comfort in knowing something is either black or white but reality often hovers somewhere in the grey area. Nowhere is this more apparent than in two news items out of Iraq that, as usual, [...]
These puppies are really sweet-looking, aren't they? According to the South Korean Customs Service, the seven Labs you see here are all very good-natured dogs, highly trainable, and exceptionally good at sniffing out drugs. They should be; they've been cloned from Korea's best drug sniffing dog. Seoul National University scientists, if you remember, created what is believed to be the world's first cloned dog, an Afghan hound named Snuppy, in 2005. The same group of scientists was responsiblefor this most recent cloning of the drug sniffing Labrador retrievers, who are now being trained by the Korea Customs Service. The cloned Labs, however, have not been named individually. I guess because they all look alike, they all have the same name - Toppy - the "to" from tomorrow and the "ppy"
A good looking group of yellow labrador retrievers wouldn't you say? They should be, news sources this week report that they are cloned. OK doggers, this has me BARKIN MAD cause I just DON'T BELIEVE how STUPID and SELFISH humans can be!GOOD DOG, are there not enough BRILLIANT DOGS out there that could have been trained for this job? Did these IDIOT HUMANS not learn from Dolly the Cloned Sheep that when you MESS with MOTHER NATURE, She gets really PO'd?'Seven cloned Labrador retrievers were unveiled by South Korea's Customs Service on Thursday for use in sniffing out drugs and explosives. Using clones could help reduce costs and help ensure a supply of dogs capable of doing critical jobs, officials said.' And if that's not insulting enough....'For now, the dogs all share the same name: Toppy....' BRILLIANT humans, JUST BRILLIANT.You can read the entire article on this RIDICILOUS CLONE-JOB on the CBC News web site.I'm PEEING

I really am not a fan of cloned dogs. As a matter of fact, I’m not a big fan of cloning. I realize it can help and save lives, but it just doesn’t sit well with me. Anyway, according to Digital Chosunilbo, Korean customs service is training cloned dogs. What do [...]
Spookily, truth can be stranger than fiction. Even Harry Potter fiction. A mere couple of weeks after my spoof April Fool's story about a pretend Harry Potter book, there is now a genuine case and Joanne Rowling has been in court in New York asserting her rights to the Harry Potter properties. Someone created a web site index to Harry's world and recently decided to publish it as a guide book. JK Rowling had a similar idea to create 'glossary/index' but as a work for charity. The book at the centre of the case was for commercial gain. I happen to think that someone merely copying the index to Rowling's work is rather shabby and looking for holes in copyright law. Fair enough when fans do this kind of thing for no commercial gain, but a commercial work does raise interesting ethical questi
Sheep Have Been Cloned...Are Humans Next?Do you enjoy watching forensic science shows like CSI? Are you interested in genetics and the intricacies of DNA? Genetic engineering that deals with the human genome and DNA has become a hot bed for discussion in recent years. Advancements in forensic science have helped law enforcement to nab criminals and solve previous “cold” cases. Understanding the components of the human body and human nature is valuable information that is a welcome notion of safety for most. While many would agree that using DNA as evidence is a good idea, manipulating human genetics is another issue. Cloning has surfaced as a debate with moral and ethical implications. Sheep have been cloned. One rationale for cloning animals was to provide more food to starving nations

A California company said on Thursday it used cloning technology to make five human embryos, with the eventual hope of making matched stem cells for patients. Stemagen Corp. in La Jolla, California, destroyed the embryos while testing to make sure they were true clones. But the researchers, based at a fertility center, said they believed their ready source of new human eggs would make their venture a success.Other experts were skeptical about the claims, published in the journal Stem Cells. If verified, the team would be the first to prove they have cloned human beings as a source of stem cells, the master cells of the body. There are several types of stem cells. Embryonic stem cells, made from days-old embryos, are considered the most powerful because they can give rise to all the cell typ

Is it just me, or does the title to this article seem disturbing to you? A little bizarre? Unappetizing? The photo is of Dolly, a stuffed replica of the first cloned animal in the world. Yummy! (Ick.)As a self proclaimed "greenie", I have been delving into facts about the food we eat, and the more I learn, the more I become repulsed, especially by raw meat. Let alone cloned meat! Can you imagine going to Morton's of Chicago, the famous steak house, and they bring over the presentation cart, and they offer you the Clone Rib eye?On January 16Th, the papers reported that the FDA declared cloned animals and their progeny safe to eat, and now they can make their way to a supermarket near you. I don't have any scientific evidence to support that drinking milk from a cloned cow or eating it will h
Yesterday, the news reported that the government is on the verge of allowing meat and milk from cloned pigs and cows to be sold for food. After years of study, the FDA determined that it’s safe, insisting that products from cloned animals are no different than those of naturally bred animals. Watchdog groups and scientists are not so sure, however, stating that defects can and do occur during the cloning process, and more investigation is needed before these products are released for mass consumption.
Source: MSNBC.com: Monkey embryos cloned, scientists say
Humanity is one step closer to human cloning. Recently, some researches in that state of Oregon claim to have successfully cloned monkey embryos and extracted stem cells. This is supposed to pave the way for the procedure to be done in humans.
This still does not make the controversy go away. The debate has raged for years about whether or not it is ethical and moral to obtain stem cells from embryos. When stem cells are harvested from embryos, the embryo does not survive.
The situation would all go away we just started using adult stem cells. There is no controversy in this area because… well the human is destroyed in the process. And neither are embryos. The problem is that we, as a society, have put so much money into embryonic stem cell research. It isn’t cheap to suddenly switch over to harvest adult stem cells.
Well I think we should just deal with it. Let’s just assume the burden of the cost. The poten
The best way to keep your credit cards safe is to never let them out of your sight.
Nearly everyone allows waiters or waitresses to take the credit cards away for meal payments - so restaurants and bars are prime areas for cloning. Whenever possible, always take your credit card to the cashier yourself.
Ideally, it is best to memorize your PIN. But if you really must write it down on a piece of

Nokia 7900 Prism gets cloned: "I was wondering why the Chinese haven't cloned the Nokia Prism phones and now finally someone releases one. This one is done by none other than NOKLA, who are famous for their Nokia clones and ripoffs. This is not a bad clone of the 7900 but only the buttons actually bulge out with their shapes...all other patterns are printed on. Here are the specs.- 2.6 inch 16 million color QVGA touchscreen- 1.3 mega pixel camera- microSD support- stereo speakers- measures 109x51x14 mm- weighs 75 gramsIt has decent dimensions and is extremely light at 75 grams. Well, once again the world of science proves itself to be less than perfect (go figure). Today the "Drudge Report" is reporting that the reports of the first cloned human embryo are FAKE!!! Check it out here http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=070918162804.uvrmo7xl&show_article=1

What I like about this thing is it allows you to go back into it an edit it if you’re not happy with the results. Pretty fun stuff.

Tell FDA: No Food From Cloned Animals! The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has completed its review of food from animal clones and FDA regulators say that the agency will likely approve the sale of cloned foods this year.FDA’s action flies in the face of widespread scientific concern about the risks of food from clones, and ignores the animal cruelty and troubling ethical concerns that the cloning process brings. What's worse, FDA indicates that it will not require labeling on cloned food, so consumers will have no way to avoid these experimental foods.
Just about few weeks ago we have seen the clone of Nokia N73 by the Chinese copy cats. Now they are back in action with the Nokia N95 and they call it as Nokia-N95.
At this point we don't have clear specs about this Clone, by looking at pictures as you can see ,The phone is a candybar ,doesn't offer sliding option like the original N95.It has a 2.4" touch screen display and at top of the display

Where do I begin? I heard a 10 second mention on CBS evening news last night that the FDA is ready to declare cloned animals as safe to eat. My first thought was, "Is there anyone out there watching this that didn't just say, 'Awesome, let's go get some cloned brisket.' ?"
Then tonight I hear a snippet, "...after a 5 year study by the FDA, the cloned animals are virtually indistinguishable and therefore shouldn't need special labeling..."
Is there a beef, chicken, pork, lamb, emu, or ostrich shortage that I don't know about?
Is meat now so expensive that no one can afford the "real thing?" If it's so expensive, blame whoever is buying the "Beef, it's what's for dinner" commercials. Air-time is PRICEY!
(Also, keep in mind of course that the "real thing" in most grocery stores is pumped full of growth hormone, antibiotics, and fed a nutrient-deficient diet of grain only.)
What possibly was the justification for cloned meat that is
Korean Scientist Hwang Woo-suk claimed that he he succeeded in cloning a female dog after last year’s breakthrough of creating the world’s first cloned dog, which was male.
The lucky dog named named Bona, An Afghan hound and this dog was born on June 18 using cloning technology. Two more of the same breed were born later and DNA test showed that this 3 dogs are clones.
Cloning a dog had been seen as significant because of the difficulties in working with canine eggs.
In the future I think we should dont worry about loosing our beloved dog, this cloning technologhy will help reborn your dog
Dispite HWANG Woo-Suk's disgrace, Korea remains the world leader in cell cloning... Cell phones, that is.
The MIC's Central Radio Management Office already seized 860 cloned cell phones in 2004 - they scored an amazing 6,600 for 2005. We're talking actual stem cells : cloners steal serial phone numbers and use them with stolen handsets.
This shift from Hello Moto to Hello Dolly appears unethical, but not so difficult thanks to Doc Jacobs' unsecure CDMA technology. So I'm affraid this Hanryuwood remake of Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones shan't play at a theater near you if you live in a GSM area.

FDA: Cloned Livestock Is Safe To Eat Yes, this is highly immoral. Yes, this is highly disturbing."The FDA gave preliminary approval Thursday to meat and milk from cloned animals or their offspring." This doesn't require labels, the FDA says, to inform consumers that the product is from a "Cloned"animal-"They are virtually identical." What do you think about that?Obviously, this needs alot more research. Which the FDA seems to lack in some areas. They have approved of Aspartame, after all, claiming it "does little harm". Personally, that stuff gives me headaches. They approve of medicines way too fast, ending up having to pull them off the shelves because of some side effect they didn't notice. Heart Attacks and Stroke? Not everyone is perfect, that's for sure.I can't tell you how many times I get an offer of a new drug: "You should try this" "There's a new drug out that might help you, it's just been released"Does all this bother you readers? Are you at all disturbed by this?alrig
