Google Restricts the Clickable Area in Adsense Ads
Google is changing the clickable area of their ad units, which may affect your ad performance in the short term. Google is restricting the area that a user can click on within an ad unit. I just observed it in the Google ad unit on this page at left side bar. The description, even if clicked on, is not taking to the advertised website. Instead of being able to click on the entire ad unit, the publisher can now only click on certain areas, such as the title and the URL in the ad. The change is designed to reduce the number of erroneous ad clicks. The result may be a reduction in CTR (click through rate) in short term, although the quality of clicks should now be higher. I am curious to know the drop in CTR and Revenue for publishers around. And does it affect the large portion for their revenue. So I am closely watching my reports for this week and next week. In a way, it’s good to keep away publishers from earning advertisers’ money for erroneous clicks which probably adver

Google Modifies Google Adsense Clickable Region
The image you see above is a heat map of the old Google Adsense clickable region and the new one where the yellow color represents the active clickable region for Adsense ads. Google has recently redefined the clickable area for Google Adsense ads as reported by Google Blogoscoped. Google previously did this to the ads in Google search results but now Google is planning to make this a universal feature for all Publishers. This means that now you will get paid only for the clicks that are made within the region of the ad link or the ad url. Previously any click made within the range of the whole length of the ad block would be counted as valid and the Publisher used to get money for that but that theory will be a no-no from now onwards. The main motif of Google behind this new change is to prevent invalid and accidental clicks which caused a lot of disturbance for the Advertisers but this will more likely kill the earnings of a lot of Publishers and the Click Through Rate is bound to f

      My Header is Now Clickable
I would like to announce that the header is now clickable. I think I have had about 10 requests to do so, and I have made it happen.  :) I followed Terence Chang’s suggestion to just get rid of the PHP and just do a link with img as I would in html. Thanks Terence! As well, have you noticed that my RSS Feed Bear is blinking and licking his lips over the past few days? I thought for sure someone was going to get spooked! :P So if you want to find my home page, JUST CLICK THE HEADER!

      Clickable Headers for New Blogger.
Ye Olde Blogger had clickable headers which enabled viewers to return to the main page simply by clicking on the headers on any of the post pages. The New Blogger seems to have done away with this function by substituting navigation links at the bottom of each post. However the clickable header can be implemented in...... two different ways in the New Blogger. You can have a title which is

      Clickable Image Maps for Blogs.
A Clickable Image Map is a picture with multiple clickable areas. An Image Map in a blog can be used for navigating the site. Each area on the map is linked to a different target or web page or a different section on the same page........ Image maps present visual choices and hence are more intuitive for viewers.
