I have been known to have clever ideas that turn out to be...um...not so clever.
Take my butter-softening method, for example. I like to bake a lot, but it's often spontaneous, meaning that I don't have time to let my butter or margarine soften at room temperature for 30 minutes. No problem! There's always the microwave. And if the microwave is occupied, well, I have another trick up my

For those who missed it, the “One Free Korea” has a translation of a very interesting Obama endorsement.
Apparently, Kim Jong Il, the “enlightened ruler of North Korea”, is paying attention to American Politics - and he has just given his endorsement to Barack Hussein Obama.

I’m not sure what this means but I kind of like it. The tagline in Jade’s Myspace Page is as follows: “I’m so glad I’ve turned it all around; I’m such a clever little sausage!” Interesting.

Creative Ways to Reuse "Disposable" Items [Clever Uses] We asked earlier this week what disposable items you had found clever re-uses for, and the answers are in. We're surprised this hasn't been though up before, which means it probably isn't as simple as it sounds. MIRA's got a new plug-in hybrid in the works that skips the whole plug aspect. Instead of plugging the whole car into an outlet, you can pull out any of the three battery packs in the trunk and hook 'em into the wall. That means the car doesn't have to have direct access to a plug to be able to juice up, you just take the batteries to where the power's at and commence charging. They're calling the system H4V, and are powering the unit on lithium ion phosphate batteries. MIRA expects the retrofit to an existing car to cost about £2000 (around $3950 US).Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

RSShugger is yet another blog directory I have found. It's not Web 2.0 -- it's pretty old school and refreshingly simple. Hey not everything has to be a widget. Rsshugger is not huge yet but I predict they'll grow. They request an honest review, so here it is: The usability issues I see is that 1) the control panel link is not a top tab. It's up at the upper right ONLY and I had to look for it a little. 2) sometimes it's not spelled out what's going on and the verbiage leaves the casual reader in the dark. I can imagine what the backend of this looks like and figure it out, but to most people the back end of a website is a mystery. 3) when you submit your blog feed it isn't at all obvious that anything happened because it reposts the same page. And another thing is that t

From the article "Clever Girls" (The Economist, March 22-28, 2008):This was the Age of Enlightenment which looked to the classical world for its symbols of order, reason and inspiration. What could be more rational than that women should be educated and have their work taken seriously? In 1779 Richard Samuel, a painter, sent the Royal Academy exhibition his “Nine Living Muses of Great Britain”—a group of female writers and artists, all robed in classical style, holding scrolls and musical instruments, with Angelica Kauffmann at the easel.Kauffmann survives, but many of the others are now obscure outside academia: Elizabeth Montagu, a critic—“Queen of the Blues”, as Dr Johnson dubbed her—whose portrait by Allan Ramsay shows her looking faintly amused in a froth of lace and
Not saving was okay, people believed, because stocks and homes were rising in value. Tapping home equity made sense because rates were low and the interest was usually tax-deductible. Taking a 401(k) loan was fine because you pay interest to yourself.Indeed, with enough of these clever strategies, you could wreck your financial future. -says Michael Maloon, a financial planner Well I have to say if you're going to starve or face a foreclosure, raiding a 401k, does not seem too bad. Just have a strategy to get back to where you were financially. When you become back on your feet, SAVE SAVE SAVE, that way you won't be long term foolish. I made a lot of financial mistakes, however I came back with a vengeance!!!

Over the course of my long, illustrious career as a professional clam-jammer, I've said a lot of questionable things to a lot of highly questionable girls. As the holidays are often a time for reflection, I've been thinking about some of the long, very drunken evenings I've endured that have resulted in not only some brazenly bad pickup lines, but have been highlighted by my snappy comebacks to failed, atrocious pickup lines. Here's the hall of fame thus far.

Yesterday I got one of these promotional pocket cards for Microsoft’s Imagine Cup 2008 competition, and in it was a clever surprise. Imagine Cup for those who don’t know is an annual Microsoft-sponsored competition exclusively for students worldwide to compete in a range of computer technology related categories including but not limited to software design, games development and film. This year’s theme is the environment.
The special touch to the pocket card is a little piece of plantable seed paper attached to the bottom. It contains the seeds of a native Australian shrub called Callistemon. Whilst it would have been way cooler if the entire card was printed on seed paper, this is a great effort to do something positive for the environment as well as promoting native Australian plants.

In our daily shooting. In interviews with pros. In our e-mails from you, our readers. On the web. In books. And, of course, on our blog, Pop Photo Flash. Here are some of the best we've come across lately.1) Above It All.Pro wedding photographer Matt Adcock (www.flashflavor.com) goes well beyond the usual reception shots. For instance, he gets a bird's-eye view of the dance floor by mounting his camera on a long painter's pole and firing it with a remote trigger. While Adcock wields the pole and makes sure that his on-camera flash is bouncing off the ceiling, an assistant aims a remote flash covered in a red gel at the dance floor. The result: an amazing overhead shot with rich reds surrounding the well-lit couple in the center of the photo.more : popphoto
A guy shopping in a supermarket noticed a little old lady following him around. If he stopped, she stopped. Furthermore she kept staring at him. She finally overtook him at the checkout, and she turned to him and said, "I hope I haven't made you feel ill at ease; it's just that you look so much like my late son." He answered, "That's okay." "I know it's silly, but if you'd call out "Good bye, Mom" as I leave the store, it would make me feel so happy."She then went through the checkout . and as she was on her way out of the store, the man called out, "Goodbye, Mother." The little old lady waved and smiled back at him.Pleased that he had brought a little sunshine into someone's day, he went to pay for his groceries. "That comes to $121.85," said the clerk. "How come so much?! I only bought 5 items.."The clerk replied, "Yeah, but your Mother said you'd pay for her things, too."

Well earlier today I did a survey about lager, which showed me some adverts and then asked questions about how I felt when I saw these adverts. To be honest all these adverts were pretty bland and uninteresting. But one advert people have been talking about lately is the Cadbury Advert. For those of you who haven’t seen it, here it is :-

Strange, a bit different you may say, but I think its quite fun and attracts your attention. But so many people have said or I have over heard saying, how does it advertise chocolate? Well showing the advert has obviously got people talking about the advert and therefore the brand involved (Cadbury’s). Your digital camera can be a lot more useful than you might think, especially while traveling. Timesharing, what is it? Is it worth to join timesharing projects?
Recently I was contacted by Timeshares, and I found it intriguing. Why would you do it? The answers slowly came to surface and the more I read about it, the more I realized that once you join, holiday becomes cheap, some of the heavy costs become almost zero, costs like hotels for example. And the bills at home are paid! Sounds too good to be true? I thought so too until I started reading and checking, and re-checking. Give it a good reading and enjoy.
