I've never walked in this area before or really knew about it so it was a nice to visit somewhere different. It's an easy overnight walk only 3hrs each way so you really spend more time in the car from Auckland than actually walking but worth it all the same. The track starts off at the back of Pio Pio just to the West of Te Kuiti in the Whareorino Forest on the way to New Plymouth. The flat is looking a bit better, although the corner by the computer is still on the cluttered side. Ordered clutter, but still clutter. Not a huge amount I can do about really. I've moved the pine chest which contains most of my video collection from the corner by the futon to the corner by the computer, have thrown out a load of stuff that was by the computer serving no purpose other than to gather dust, and since I'm having a cull of the videos as well have cleared some space to put some of the craft stuff in the chest as well. This clears a bit of floor space, I've pushed the futon back against the wall, and Otis' cage is now a bit further in to the corner. I reckon if I move his hay feeder to a different side of the cage I could get it right into the gap between the futon and the wall. Wouldn't be able to open the cage door, but it's worth thinking about for when I have people viewing the flat. Then the only thing I'd need to hide would be the dog basket and that ca

If you use the registry editor incorrectly, you might cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Use the registry editor at your own risk. A few posts down we posted about the features of Tuesday's rollout. One of the things we mention was doing away with the RLOD. The RLOD as *WE* understood it was when a postie would click on "TAKE" for an opportunity they would be presented with the screen to fill in the information about their post and telling them they had a reservation on the opp. They would then fill out their information and do their post and when they clicked SUBMIT it would then inform them in big bold red letters that the opportunity was filled, thus wasting that postie's time.What was happening is, when an opportunity got down to it's LAST reservation and two posties clicked on it at the same time they BOTH got reservations. Then it was basically a race to whomever got the post in first. The person who clicked submit first would get the opp and the other postie would get the "RLOD". What we did was fix the reservation system. Before, reservations was just a number and when postie's clicked take that number

A week or so ago Everything Last Winter from Fields arrived in my mailbox. What looked to be an ordinary compact disc has turned out to be a quite a nice surprise. After a few listens, I'm a little disappointed that I won't be able to catch the band tomorrow night at Chicago's Empty Bottle. I do (however) suggest that you head out to one of my favorite venues tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/16) night to check out this British/Icelandic quartet that takes what might be simple folk-rock songs and add gorgeous male/female vocal harmonies and huge swells of fuzzed-out atmospheric guitars to the mix. I quite like it, but I'm a sucker for noise. Many folks have commented that Everything Last Winter is a dark album but I just don't hear it. The melodies are shimmering, the backbeat is driving, and there may be some minor key rockin' going on, but its not full of doom and gloom. FAMU law school grads continue to bomb the Florida Bar exam. Eleven of 21 students who took the test in February passed, an anemic success rate of 52.4 percent, according to results released Monday. That's down from 57.1 percent for FAMU grads in February 2006 and 52.9 percent in July 2006. As the law school seeks accreditation, that's not good news. FAMU Provost Debra Austin told trustees at last week's emergency meeting that recruitment, retention and bar passage were three major areas of concern identified by the American Bar Association's accreditation team. "As you know, we can do better in all of those areas," she said. On the February test, Florida International University topped all 10 law schools in Florida with a 94.4 percent pass rate. I had to force myself out of bed. The alarm went off and I contemplated lying till 8am and taking it easy. But I knew the guilt would anger me so I prised myself out at 6:20am and was ready to rock by 6:50am. As soon as I was out the shower I was feeling better, over the worst at least, and as soon as that first taste of piping hot coffee hit the back of my throat, all was well in the universe once more. For the last couple of days, I’ve been working on a different sort of de-cluttering exercise: clearing out my computer. It will save me far more time than money, but since they say time is money, I thought I’d write about it. I decided it was time to do something like this because all my digital clutter was making life difficult. For example: I had so much software, digital photos, mp3s, ancient work files and random downloaded stuff on my laptop that it was running really slowly. I didn’t know what was worth backing up any more and what should just be deleted. When I needed to find examples of my old work, I had to hunt through a my laptop, a badly-organised external hard drive and roughly 50 CDs of backups to find it. I often gave up before I found what I needed. I had thousands of digital photos on my computer and no idea what many of them are — or whether they’re even worth keeping.
