Orange County Choppers, which is the setting for the Discovery Channel's hit show "American Choppers", has donated a raffle prize to the Humane Society of Citrus County.
The holder of the winning raffle ticket at HSCC's November 12th Ride for Rescue and Pet Party Open House will win an autographed picture featuring Paul Teutul, Sr. and his canine companion, Gus, the Bull Mastiff, posing with a custom motorcycle.
Other raffle prizes donated by local businesses include: leather jackets and vests, pet themed gift baskets, restaurant gift certificates, collectible items, and more.
The raffle may be entered at the event from Noon to 4:00 pm at the Citrus County Auditorium. Motorcycle riders are encouraged to come early to attend the Bike Run at 9:00 a.m. Entry fee for the Ride for Rescue Bike Run is $15 for bike, $5 to add a passenger. Entry for the Pet Party Open House featuring vendors, raffles, and more is complimentary.

The requirements for the Citrus County SHIP program have recently been revised. Due to the overwhelming demand, potential applicants must be a resident of Citrus County for twelve continuous months in order to apply. Also, the program was open to both low and moderate income households, and has now been revised to solely serve very low and low income households.What is the SHIP Program? The Citrus County SHIP program provides help for first time home buyers with lower incomes that meet certain requirements. There are many who have enough income to make the monthly payments on a mortgage and would like to own, but rent, as they do not have the reserve funds for a large enough downpayment. For those who qualify, the program provides a zero interest loan that can cover the downpayment required to secure a mortgage. Requirements include: Citrus County residency, attending a class conducted by the county, meeting income requirements, and approval from a lending institution.Requirement 1: Ci
