When writing a paper, one should be careful citing someone else’s thoughts. It is important to present the material taken from a book or an article in the proper way as just putting a phrase or a sentence in the body of your own work will do you no good because it will be treated as a plagiarism and Plagiarism is a bad thing. The Chicago Citation Style recommends documenting sources in footnotes or, preferably, endnotes. This system is used widely in the humanities, especially in history, art history, literature, and the arts.
