Is Circumstance All In The Mind?
I knew two men who, at an early age, lost the hard-earned savings of years. One was very deeply troubled, and gave way to worry, and despondency. The other, on reading in his morning paper that the bank in which his money was deposited had hopelessly failed, and that he had lost all, quietly and firmly [...]

      Pomp & Circumstance
The Rooster, who is two years old, graduated yesterday. There was a ceremony at her daycare center. In the fall, she'll move from the two year old room to the three year old room.Which is, ironically, in the same actual room.[But on the other side of the tall bookshelf.]The Mayor graduated too. He's movin' on up to Pre-K.[Though he was not awarded a DELUXE apartment in the sky.]The kids sang fabulo

Do Not Under Any Circumstance Pay Anyone A Compliment
Some people go through their day without giving much consideration about how they will interact with their fellow humans. This article will forever change the way you look at even the shortest conversation. You never know what kind of an affect a compliment may have on a person. A smile, a better day, or a large scale domino affect of good vibes and good fortune. In return, you will build rapport and bask in the glory that you did a nice thing for another. The 30 second compliment experiment. In order to make complimenting a habit we’re going to force ourselves to compliment everyone we meet. Starting now, we are going to compliment whoever we speak with within the first 30 seconds of initiating the conversation. We’re going to do this with every single person we speak with! Now I’m not saying you need to pull over every person you pass on the street. You do this with anyone you are already engaging a conversation with, for whatever reason. This is an observational e

Advanced Planning or Circumstance... Elder Law
Last week my Grandmother had some serious health issues. No one in our family lives in her hometown, but we have a network in place. My cousin stops in every other day before going home from work in a town nearby. She also has another neighbor stop in every morning and the mailman (God bless him!) brings her mail to her back door, opens the door to put the mail in on the table and calls out

      Fate or Circumstance?
Well you've seen that I can create situations based on my desires. This week has been a virtual waterfall of experiences in that vein. Today was the same.I woke up at 3:15am (yes, 3am) and prepared to leave for Mexico. We made our flight with time to spare, got settled and eventually we were in the air. I sat next to a woman named who is part of the social group I'm in Mexico with and on the other side of me was another woman. I actually never got her name. She was nice but quiet and clearly wanted to be alone. (Most of us had been awake since at least 4am so I can understand not being interested in conversation with a stranger).Eventually the no-named quiet woman got up and left. She switched seats with another man for some reason and he sat down quietly, absorbed in a book. After about 2 hours of flying, we all got restless and started chatting and hanging out in the aisles. My friend interrupted the man next to me to apologize for our chattiness. He was cordial and we all began tal
